THE MAKING OF USHER'S HIT SONG GLU HERE IS STUDIO SESSION WHERE THE SONGS PRODUCTION AND SONG MELODY WERE CRAFTED BY LIL JON, AVILA BROTHERS, SEAN GARRETT AND DAWG! ENJOY!! 🎥 by SHAWTY PUTT
The craziest part for this Prince based record is knowing Prince use to create all parts - writing, production, & playing all instruments. This is one of the BEST paying homage to Prince - DOPE!
I CANNOT believe what I just watched. This is the apex of songwriting and producing (too me). Literally seeing 3 masters of their craft's coming together to create something magical. And music aside, they listen to one another thoughts and perspective without ego. In pursuit of what's best for the art! This was an absolute master class to watch. And I'd like too thank everyone who was involved in making this video happen. The camera operators, video editor(s), and whoever uploaded this. THANK YOU!!! Please NEVER remove this video!
Yup. They are real Producer's rather than just a bunch a beat makers that calls themselves a Producer. A real Producer does way more than just make beats. They are directors, collaborators and visionaries in the studio seeing the whole production of a song from start to finish.
Wow… Thanks for Sharing… I’m on my way…….Tank God (Cuz) we coming… Thank you for giving us insight into your process Lil Jon… You shall be rewarded.. The Song is Fire… I filed it way back on wish I wrote that… but I got mine and we coming , pay our paths cross… Now who’s the Master on the Piano please?….
John is a beast. But everyone else in that room are all super producers. The Avila brothers came up under jimmy jam and terry lewis. And Sean garret executive produced summer walkers last album.
Yeah this showed his crunk era was just his fun era, that era in time where he was just making music one way purposely, this shows he knows how to produce Fr.
This footage is not showing how the song in fact came about. It’s melody and structure was taken from Prince’s 1999 album from the song International Lover
When I first heard this record, I was initially in love with it, then shocked it was Usher, because the falsetto disguied his natural tone. Then I was completely floored! This record is simply amazing and I'm happy to see Usher reinvent himself into this real grown folks genre of music ..and to see it being constructed really put the cherry on top for me!!
That boy Sean is a musical architect…truly understands story telling melodically with the write cadences and bounces in the right places. Had the pleasure of working with him with his artist Avery Wilson a few years back..had to just be a sponge and be apart of the magic! Lil Jon put his foot in the beat as always & I had no idea he produced this! The pianist was crazy too!!!
Glad u said it. I said the same thing that this is a somewhat stolen remix of international lover. Or homage but let's not say it's original lol but it jams. Just like international lover.
Had the privilage of mixing Usher live for a event a few weeks ago. He performed this song with his band and I was shocked at the register he was able to perform at. Such a unique, amazing sound and record. His team added a horn section as well, which just took it up a notch! This is one of those records that just hit different.... Congrats on another classic!
I work closely with the original singers of one Gerald Leverts group known as Dark Blu that he developed and put together back in 1999. They were all on Soul Train back in 2001. One of the lead singers of the group Damon J. Parker worked with Usher back in 2016 as his backup vocalist on stage.
@@darrellwilliams1991everything in a high pitch and guitar isn't prince 😂 Sean gave him the key and cadence to reference from what he felt. Usher took and made it Usher.
@@twotrips553 Just say you don't know princes music...lol...just listen to International Lover...and then tell me it doesn't sound like a Prince song....I am not saying they stole anything from Prince...I am just saying it sounds like a Prince song
This is the dream team! I swear that guy played his damned bracelet off at 4:58 and just kept on going. The creative vibes are unmatched! GLU is a smash, simply timeless perfection 🤌🏽💥
This is amazing - I can watch this kind of stuff all day. I need a whole Usher album with this vibe. This is literally my favorite song at the moment. The fact that it is not a commercial smash is a testament to the poor sale through of R&B music. The genre needs more visibility. We need more love in the zeitgeist.
I greatly enjoyed this! After watching the Avila Brothers on R&B Money and not knowing their contribution to music, I was tuned IN to this. Give us more Lil’ John, this was pure magic! Sean Garrett is fun to watch! 😂
Love this. I want all the new people getting into music to know, that you can create just like this from home or wherever. You don’t need a huge studio just to create Magic. Don’t be discouraged by not having a million dollar studio! Just vibe out and create!
Bobby Avila!!!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Such a talented brother. Do yall research on the Avila Brothers! The sound behind alot of Ushers hits. ❤❤❤❤❤ This is WONDERFUL thanks for sharing!
Bobby Avila is such a beast man. that piano and guitar riff is craaaazy. The Pen did his thing with the Melody. I love how he wrote it for Ushers vocal range. It reminds me of the falsettos on can you handle it (confessionals album) or can you help me from 8701. This is what a dream team of super producers looks like.
Yo!!! I got CHILLS right now! I absolutely love the creativity process. If people only understood how good it feels when you finish a song that started from nothing. PRICELESS 👌🏾🤲🏾
It's not often that I hear a song on the radio for the first time and love it. First time I heard this...I LOVED IT! Didn't know Sean Garrett could sing! well DONE!
❤😊DOPE, DOPE & DOPE!!! Beautifully written, arranged, produced, mixed, selection of instruments & Usher's falsetto IS the icing on the cake! 🔥 📛 🔥 The first time I heard it, I thought it was an unreleased (posthumous) Prince song. ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗
This might be one of the best behind the scenes I've seen and definitely the most I've seen with Sean Garrett! And I love having that feelin that Sean Garrett is having in there!! Everbody added to the vibe and I didn't think that player was going to move on from guitar to more!
Sean Garrett never got the credit he deserves honestly 🙏 and of course Lil Jon is a Legend respect to all of the incredible talent that work on an incredible song
Sean Garrett, Bobby Avila, & Lil Jon all did a tremendous job. Some people you would of never known that Bobby Avila has been in the industry since the early 90's then The Avila Brothers went on to become big writers & producers just like Sean Garrett & Lil Jon.❤❤❤❤ GLU is the jaaammmmmm ❤❤❤❤
Now this is what you call a real Producer what a real Producer does in the studio that sees the whole production of a song from start to finish. Take note to all the beat makers that calls them selfs a Producer. Theres so much than just programming a beat if you are going to call yourself a Record Producer. Producer's are Directors, Visionaries and Collaboraters not much anything different than what Quincy Jones did. Lil Jon is Collaborating and giving his input on song ideas and directing the Engineer. Diddy Combs does the same thing and he don't make beats.
This is for all the people making music in their basement by themselves, collaboration is where GREAT music comes from. Look at the great albums, Songs in The Key, Thriller, etc very few people can do GREAT all themselves.
Please don’t sleep on Bobby Avila, RnB Hispanic 👑 ! Even in this video Bobby is putting in work! Respect to Sean & Lil Jon but put so respect on Bobby’s Name 😂❤
“Positive super energy!” Facts ! I had the honor to meet Bobby and he is pure positive super energy. Love seeing convos among 3 geniuses like This video sheeesh. Peace !!!
Can anyone imagine when this is performed LIVE? Like at the Grammys with LIVE instruments and it's a must to have Avila LIVE on the guitar! Anybody else feeling that?
Hearing this beat and the way that arrangement first came in scrunched my face up real hard the first time I heard it. Seeing this BTS was insane....I'd actually pay money to see ushers initial reaction when they first played it for him...cuz I'm sure he knew it was one of them ones. I stepped away from producing to focus on photography but this makes me want to load up a blank session and get BUSY! 🔥🔥🔥
Love this! Sean is soooooooo dope!! He is Legendary! Love x 3 his vocal production. The guitarist’s/pianist’s ear to hear that harmony is crazy!! Who is he? Obsessed!!!!!! Lil Jon is an ICON! Thank you for sharing!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love seeing shit like this. I used to always watch ryan leslie in the studio. I wouldnt even think artists made music in the studios like this anymore. Just fire.
The process was amazing! The song is great!!! Seeing this performed live is going to be killer! Especially if the band is locked in. The potential to show out lives in this track!!!
As a creative you know you on to something when you start sweating for no reason. Your mind is overcharging your body, your whole soul is screaming trying to get your creativity out. Look at Sean, that brother is sweating buckets cause he knows he's got something. That smile on his face his whole aura is about that song in this video. People who have never been in that zone just don't understand.
As an artist these are my favorite videos to watch, starting from an idea to creating a masterpiece is magical, this is one of my favorite songs of the last decade, easily, I have it on repeat. 👏🏾🔥
