I lived in California at an early age and then ended up in Pittsburgh, PA in the winter when this song came out. It immediately struck a chord with me. Just a beautiful melancholic melody.
This song is a masterclass in audio engineering and especially mixing to tell a story. Put your headphones on, close your eyes, and take it all in. Then also consider it was done in the 1960s when recording technology and studio techniques to capture sound had soo much artistry involved. Listen to the how every instrument was captured to tape. The masterful planning of the layers of vocal harmonies from left, right, and center. And then the mix, especially the panning of the vocal tracks with all the instruments, and how it creates a floating quality. It's why this song has endured for so long and gives you such an emotional impact.
It's also a masterclass in compostion where melody , harmony blend into a classic that inspires to this day - a song written by John Phillips and Michelle Phillips - released 1965 . In comparison todays Pop Music does not rise even close to this level.
that kind of life wasn't for everyone, also the clip had degernerate party as one of the scenes, in which way is that normal? Conservatives these days are a joke.
Like how Margot robbies dance goes with the beat of the song or in the beginning when she does a flick with her fingers it goes with the best and rhythm, I dig it
this music gives me unique emotions, I've been listening to it for a long time, it still gives me the same feeling as the first day and it's perfect for a movie...
Brilliant song and a brilliant film. My wife’s favourite song. We were teenagers in Liverpool when the Beatles took off in the sixties. Best year for me was 66. Revolver and Pet Sounds were released and the music that was being produced then was fabulous. Great time to be alive.
Sadly, yes, and eventually just the music. Loved Midnight Cowboy, film and music - sad in the end when Ratso Rizzo almost makes it to Florida and the warmth.
This is just a beautiful song . A true classic . They don’t make music like this anymore. The music today is just crap . This song will still be a masterpiece in a 100 years.
I agree that this song is special and timeless. But I don't agree that the art of music has gone backwards. Music and all art forms continue move, change and progress. It is their nature. Yes I am sure there are modern songs that you do not like (even despise but they sound weak and empty to you) but there must be some that really move you...and will have a timeless impact just like C. Dreamin.
that’s song gave me a strange malinconia. the melody remember me the childhood summer, the days with friends, the beach and the happy of these days. one of the best song ever and the best flute solo
Great song. One of my all time favourites. I’m an older guy and always been a great movie fan. Seen all the great movies over the decades. But this movie is right up there as one of my top favourites. Saw it too in Santa Monica during one of my visits. Made it even better. 🙋♂️👏👏🇬🇧
this is my new favorite video on the internet! favorite song, with one of the best moving films that classically captures the essence and time period of the tune so effortlessly and perfectly.. I smiled throughout the whole thing and it was hard not to jam out!
What a great timeless Classic Riff, excellent edit throughout with the clips queued up. Freakin Brad Pitt, love him or hate him (not certain why you would after his performance in the Tarantino Flick, as this was simply Brad’s BEST performance), his role in this movie was truly an iconic masterpiece. 🍻❤️🔥🙏🏼❤️🔥🍻
Love Tina ❤️ I'm an Aussie only into footy when with family. But I absolutely loved this campaign ❤️ in 1991 I was 16 😍. I watch footy with family but this song is awesome! RiP Tina thankyou for the memories. ❤❤❤
Фильм роскошный, часто пересматриваю как образец отлично сделанной работы, теперь, уже можно говорить, мастером Тарантино. Причём развязка тут чисто для проката.
Until I landed in California many years back this classic was at the top of the Playlist.Still played these days when I'm not there.Rog.Pacific Sunset Records.
They just don't make music like that anymore. So sad . I miss the sixties sometimes . Bad times , yes , but songs like this are what got us all to set the world right . Then came ... Still not crying ... no more tears left /: (
I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard this song on the radio. I was at my Grandmothers house looking through a window beside the fireplace into her garden, it may have been autumn or winter. She had one of those purple leaf plum trees in her garden.
