This movie is so underrated. I don't understand why it wasn't more popular! (Not that it bombed, but it didn't do exceedingly well either). Good cast chemistry, beautiful cinematography and costuming, excellent soundtrack, etc. It is my dream to one day have another movie, but I know that is unlikely : -(
@Sosumi R If you google "man from uncle 2" you'll see a couple of Collider articles about it. At this point, it seems more like a possibility than a certainty though (and unfortunately, the article from 2017 seems more optimistic than the one from 2018). At least people are talking about it though!
The Nice Guys too, it didnt do well in the box office. Mainstream wouldn't know when something good hit them in their faces, all they want is Didney Super heroes.
Jean Kennedy 50 shades is too much but there is much more to the whole “submissive, domination” thing that you are clearly unaware about. It isn’t a “low selfesteem” that creates that interest in the genre of sex, at least not a lot of the time. @Jean Kennedy In my personal opinion the common desire for such things like being love tapped on the ass or alittle harder is that He is dominant yet you can trust he will not hurt you. The only thing that has been released is that armie hammer said the writer would think about making another. Key word is think. I honestly don’t think it will happen bc the first movie didn’t rake in enough at the box office. Do you have a link or something as proof bc I’m not gunna take ur word and get my hopes up like that.
Their scenes together make me laugh. Chemistry was really good! Just watched their interview only to find out that he did not expect to get slapped lol! It was off script, but I love how they put it in lol! Priceless scene

@Jean Kennedy Although it's probably not worth it, coz you seem a little crazy, there you go: 1 When they were looking for clothes, we could see that he liked what he saw 2 In the hotel room when Gaby wanted him to dance, he started smiling until she slapped him 3. You say that she was the one who tried to kiss and he all the time tried not to so let's analyse the moment they're both on the floor, shall we? She was sitting on him and he held her arms, no way she could have moved if he hadn't let her, he's just to strong, but when she started to ger closer, he let her, we can see how he's releasing his grip, and a moment later, when she had her face really close, he moved his hands from her arms towards her waist, I mean, this move alone should be enough for an average smart person to realise that he's into her, why on earth would he touched her that why? He could have just, stand up, and put her on the ground, he has strenght to do that, instead, he started to hold her, in a caring way and when she almost got his lips, he closed his eyes and opened his mouth just a little bit, as people tend to before they kiss, perhaps you've never kissed, and that's why you missunderstand this. When she just passed out, he looked dissapointed, not relief, it's obvious. 4. You said once that se tricked him to check her tracker, I mean really??? She offered Solo to check it, how was she supposed to now that he'll let Illaya do it? Pay attention to details, how he warms up his hands before he touches her. He also could have asked her to lift up the dress and push the button without even touching her but he chooses to do otherwise. When he realises she's scared, he gets really soft, trying to make her feel safe, come on, the way he looks at her in this scene it's just so freaking romantic that I just can't believe you don't see it and you're not just a troll, he keeps his voice down, and this time, He tries to kiss her, he's moving towards her as well, although he can't as much as she coz she's higher this time. 5. If he doesn't care about her how would you explain, his reaction when he thinks she betrayed them? Solo says, it's ok, that happens, she fooled me too, but Illaya is really hurt, he says himself, that for him it's different 6. When she crashes, he holds her and smiles because he's happy she's alive 7. At the end, he wants her to keep the ring to be able to protect her, would he bother to do that if he didn't her about her. This time also both of them try to kiss, you can it. 8. You said a man who wanted to kiss a girl would not have let others to interrupt him but at the same time you claim, Gaby wanted to kiss him so badly but she jumped each time as well, because that's normal reaction, they try to kiss, and just a second before their lips meet, they hear a noise, they're in very intimidate moment so not much is needed to distract them. 9. You keep saying he usues those situations when someone just comes unexpectidly to run away from her but how does he know anyone will come, long enough before they kiss so he has an excuse not to do it? Just think about it, think how close their lips are every single time they almost kiss, do you really think he would have let that happen and hope for somebody to come in, if he didn't want to kiss her, it's so easy not to kiss someone, even if they try to kiss you 10 Even Solo sees that Illaya is into Gaby, he points that out 11 And finally, the idea that Solo and Illaya are atracted to each othet is just ridiculus, haven't you seen all the scenes in which Gaby and Illaya are alone, like next to the Russian steps, or when they get robbed, and Solo appears and how frustraiting it is for Illaya, he's so annoyed with him, wants him to get lost, also when Solo invites Illaya for drinks, Illaya wants Gaby to come, he offers it to her even though he doesn't have to and we don't even know if Solo invited her as well but Illaya for sure wants her there. Would he do that if he didn't Care about her and was attracted to Solo? The answer is: Hell NO! And it's logical and obvious and one must be blind and stupid and ignorant not to see and understand all of this. I just hope you could talk to the director and hear it all from him, so you could finally realise how wrong you are. PS sorry for my English, I'm Polish

This movie should've been promoted more than it was. Perfect amount of seriousness, unlike the bond franchise. Yet not too much comedy, and the connection between ilya and gaby has more depth than any spy movie in my opinion.
It’s a shame. I don’t know why but that’s how most all of Guy Ritchie’s films do. They’re never distributed widely or properly, and critics never give them the credit deserved. They’re always movies built for the theater experience!
you have Armie and Hanry in this movie who are both amazingly good looking but damn the whole movie i could only stare at Alicia she was so gorgeus in this, i dont know if it was because of the time period but she seemed so classy!

Brilliant movie! Gave us the forgotten Solomon Burke track. Best bit of film is near the start with Armie squeezed into the tiny car. I had to get the dvd.

@Jean Kennedy dude, did you even watch the movie? They tried to kiss each other later but were interrupted. Quit acting like a character mind reader, ffs. Also, he even says that he likes his women "strong," meaning he actually liked her (drunkenly) show of dominance.
@Jean Kennedy Oh? Well, here's my proof that he was actually *interested in her*. The next morning, right after the whole wrestling fiasco: he comments on "how he likes his women strong." When Gaby comments on how Alexander Vinciguerra took an interest in her: Illya expresses his jealousy. When Gaby comments on how Alexander kept on making advances on her, Illya says: "It is not happening." Meaning he is not allowing Alexander to make moves on her. When Gaby compliments Alexander, Illya retorts with, "Still a Nazi." He's basically trying to take away Alexander's charm. When Gaby replies with "You are not even my fiancé," Illya all too seriously insists that he is. He's taking the whole fiancé cover *too seriously*, that he even goes so far as to buy her a new ring and, even when the mission was over, he insists that she keep it, so that "he'll always know where she is." Also, when Illya and Napoleon were "betrayed" by Gaby, Napoleon says, "She fooled me too." Illya, however, comments that "It's not the same," meaning that he had caught feelings along the way and was hurt by Gaby's fake betrayal. Right after he kills Alexander Vinciguerra, he goes to Gaby and cradles her, and right after that, he continues to stay by her side while plotting how to defeat Victoria. Also, "dude" is a gender neutral term.

Now, since he said that to Gaby, that means she fits that criteria of "type of women he likes." 😊 Also, let me add that before that very line, he said, "I enjoyed last night," and then adding that it was a good chance for them to get to know each other more intimately (he says that clearly amused and enjoying himself). As for the ring part, again, he let her keep that as a souvenir so that "he could keep track of her" (he says that while giving her a tender smile). Maybe he won't see her right after the mission, but it is obvious that he definitely has plans to in the future. 😑 Considering he's a KGB agent, he probably has a lot of missions on his plate, so his job has to go first or else he might end up going to the gulag like his father. During the scene where he cradles Gaby, he was telling her that "everything's okay," while giving her a soft smile. Also, a few scenes right after he saves Gaby, which side he is standing on while the three of them are recovering? Gaby's. Many people may miss this part, but if one looks closely, he was patting/touching Gaby to comfort her. Even Napoleon, who is can easily spot signs of attraction considering he is a big womanizer and is used to that stuff, can see Illya's attraction for Gaby, teasing him at one point with the line, "Going soft, Peril?" And then continues to tease him with eye-wiggling when Gaby enters the scene. Dude, I've seen romantic tension both in real life and on screen. So whenever I judge two people as having attraction to each other, they always end up being a canon couple. I'm more attuned to this considering I'm an empath and I can easily sense such things. I know what I saw.
@Jean Kennedy Oh, boy. You really suck at visual and verbal hints/cues. You think I have a problem with my eyes? Well, I think you have a problem with both your *eyes* AND *ears*. You missed lines and scenes and cues that clearly gave away Illya's attraction to Gaby. Or you just chose to ignore them. Whichever it is.
