In Germany it's common to walk your dog around 2-3 times a DAY. So I really can't understand how people can think that walking your dog only three times a WEEK is enough? Lord.

this episode honestly made me really happy. it's so nice to see that even though this family has many children and many dogs, once victoria told them what to do, they made that effort to take special care of toby and make sure to help him and pay attention to him and his needs :,-)

I really like the dad. He was so rightfully frustrated beyond belief but he keeps his temper under control. When victoria told him he was the one that needed to change, he immediately accepted it. I wish I had a dad as nice as this guy.

Tbh since I watched from it's me or the dog, and watching Victoria training all these dogs I just got inspired and did what she did on my dog too and it went so so well now my doggy has lots and lots of manners now. What's really great is that as soon as the dad realized that Toby was scared he instantly lost any and all dislike of him. He became determined that Toby wouldn't be afraid anymore and wasn't defensive when Victoria told him what he was doing wrong and didn't even hesitate at the extra work he needed to do. It's interesting to think about those first weeks of a puppy's life and how much that will always affect them. My sister's puppy really likes tall men, probably because the guy we got her from was a tall guy. If we have a group of people over that she doesn't know, and she sees a tall man in the group, she goes over to him first and wants him to pet her.

I found it hilarious when all those men are throwing chicken at him. I can't imagine how she set up that situation. I don't even know that many people.

Victoria is a very amazing woman. She communicates well with dogs, adults and children, she really gets them to understand what she's saying/doing. I'm glad things worked out for this family but especially for Toby. It breaks my heart to see a dog so fearful of men because I knew instantly that somewhere in his life a man hurt him. As a side note, what would ever possess you to have so many bloody kids?!

Whenever the narrator says "walkies" my heart grows 3 times.

I love the idea that the men throwing the chicken weren't instructed to do so, just random men flinging chicken on the pavement.

TBH they're one of the few and far between examples of not only great dog owners, but also parents. And when someone has 4 amazing dogs it only means that the 5th one needed some help that they were unable to give him without profesional training. Good for them.

people just don't tend to train smaller dogs cuz "it's no harm" dog bites someone "it's no big deal" it is because that dog is going to live it's whole life miserable. The man said "I have had many dogs in my life but toby is juts terrible" no he is just scared and feels the need to be bigger he's not terrible, he just needs to be shown the right direction...

I like the father, he's a family man, he's well spoken and smart, yes he was frustrated but he has a big heart. He is a kind leader.

I Don't understand how dogs Are being walked less than three Times a day....my dog Has two big Walks in the Morning and Afternoon and a smaller Walk in the evening. And all She does during the day is sleeping.

He’s really lucky he didn’t get electrocuted while chewing on that. My very first dog got electrocuted the day we brought her home. (She was fine after a stay at the animal hospital) Ever since then when we bring a new dog home we unplug EVERYTHING. it’s definitely saved other dogs.

Such a clever dog. He learns so quickly. Responds amazingly to training. Positive training all the way.

I love watching this show and looking at my sleeping 10-week-old Anatolian shepherd pup who is already potty trained, crate trained, can Look At Me, Sit, Lay Down, Come, Shake, and walks well on a leash.

Toby chews everything cause they got him no chew toys, he poops everywhere in the house because they never potty trained him, he attacks and nips people because they didn't obedience train him/socialize him with other dogs, and he "hates" men because the owners project that feeling onto him. Animals (INCLUDING HUMANS) act and react due to how you treat them, raise them, and care for them.

My dad wouldn't have given a damn about my feelings, my sister's and brother's feelings if a dog like toby acted out like that. He would have gotten rid of the dog right away. He would have been all, "You already got a nice dog. You don't need this one."

OMG, I knew before getting a dog that he had to go out 3 times a day. No ifs or buts about it. If it rains, snows or whatever. I would feel so bad if I would wouldn't do that.

Thank you for the message on biting off more than you can chew. I had to re-home my beardie, and had to watch as others who tried to do the same were shamed. I understand that reptiles and dogs are different, but they both deserve a home that has the means to care for them.

The family seems to be very nice - but I seriously question the wisdom behind the decision of the mother to add another dog to their already very large human/dog pack! Isn't that bordering on animal hoarding? It has never been explained if Toby has been rescued somehow or if the mother just couldn't resist when she met Toby as a small puppy. If he was rescued the family could've tried to find a suitable home for Toby while he was still small, which most likely wouldn't have been overly difficult. Not every dog is keen on living in such a large pack, and it's not fair as far as the resident four dogs and the kids are concerned, either! Toby might've been perfectly fine in a much smaller pack or as a single dog of an owner who would've been willing to train him properly. I have the impression that Toby never got seriously trained and educated, when he was still a puppy. Perhaps the owners thought that Toby would learn to be house-trained and other important doggy skills just by watching and emulating the other dogs. Obviously that didn't happen... But kudos to the family for accepting to be "re-trained". I wonder if everything worked out well in the long run.
