Tatay Digong has fire in his belly especially for things he loves most. He loves the Philippines more than his life that he would be the first one to stop its bleeding. He loves the Filipino youth that he would do everything to protect them and keep them from harm.
Most of all, he loves children and youth whose future depends on other people's compassion and mercy--with their lives hanging by a thread.
In my more than six years of serving the people side by side with my Boss and my Mentor, I've seen how he broke down at the sight of children battling with cancer. I've seen how he stood as a father to young cancer patients he would visit during the holidays. He gives them toys, food, groceries, but most of all, he gives them love.
And he has been doing this long before he became President Rody Duterte.
The Children's Cancer Institute of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) is as testmanent of this man's great love for children.
The young girls of Balay Dangupan look up to him as a father, friend, and protector. He never forgets them and is a constant figure that extends love and support when they need it most.
Tatay Digong also never forgets to thank and acknowledge his friends, likeminded individuals who help him help the downtrodden.
Sometimes, we ask ourselves, what do we do for the ones we love?
FPRRD doesn't have to talk and elaborate his answer. His actions do the talking. And we have seen it with our eyes.
