These people are very hardy and tenacious. I admire them. Sye has obviously earned the horses trust. Horses are amazing animals who are work partners of humans. I love the Mongolian music. It's hauntingly beautiful and speaks to me of freedom and it's costs, endurance, and tenacity.

I am really thankful to those Mongols are still keeping their traditions, cultures, and Mongolian language in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in PRC. They also invent and create some innovative and useful tools to make the nomadic life much easier and sustainable. ❤

This is all a little too nice. I love the Mongolian people, but many live much harsher than this. In my year there and travel through The country, I was subjected to eating decaying goat heads, animal intestines and many other such delicacies as well as many gallons of Airag/Ayrag. Because they had harsh times. These folks were dirt poor but graciously shared whatever they had. Most vids on Mongolia go to families that have larger herds and are paid for their hospitality. Wish I could have videoed what I experienced. Just saying.

Thank you for a very nice documentary. Unfortunately, this ancient lifestyle is likely to vanish entirely in decades to come. We live between two of the most hostile nations, Russians and Chinese. Both of them have been actively destroying Mongolian culture. The same story can be told about Russian Mongolians who are even worse. They don't know where they came from.

Desertification is the direct result of the absence of large herds of herbivores that once roamed the land. These herds eat the grass and fertilize it and move on. This clears the soul of dead grass that prevents new growth. Nomadic Mongols and their moving herds of domesticated animals is probably the closest thing we can get to the Pleistocene natural order.

They should keep their lives as they are they really are not better off in towns and city’s

Awesome documentary! Thank You to all concerned - camera; script; Family; Everyone! Has anyone thought about taking to them about changing their land naturally? swales, trees, shrubs, etc.? Douglas Barnes is a Canadian Author, who has written on this subject, but I am sure there are many authors in Asia.

Regardless of how long these families have been together on their piece of land, the daily routine in such harsh environments seems not to have improved a whole lot over the generations. Any criticism of how these people live is not appropriate and until you've ridden or walked in their steps, you have no understanding of the nuances of their lives on an intimate level. I've even read comments from so called "westerners" who dare to compare their lot in life as being worse than these people are experiencing!!! Really? Maybe you should be just parachuted into their space and let's just see how well you survive. They're not the "privileged white man from the West in any way, shape or form. They're the descendants of a very long history of nomads who've survived and arrived at a place where they are at peace with their lifestyles. I have enormous respect for these soulful people who are happy in their own skins and don't winge and wine about their lot in life but they accept their simple but family oriented lives. Sai also has my respect for the way he has built such a close relationship with these beautiful Mongolian horses. His faith and belief in his chosen method of raising the herd and his simple but heartfelt explanation of why he raises them in a free environment I found to be very moving. I like the mongolian livestyle. It is so down to earth and the essentials. What I would like to know:do mongolians eat the foals of their horses, like the yakutian people do? That was one thing that disgusted me very much.
