Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, had strength and power that he was known for before Islam, and so was Abu Jahl, and his name was: Amr Ibn Hisham Ibn Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzoumi. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was hoping for their conversion to Islam, for what they would give him to Islam of honor and strength during the emergence of Islam. In this hadith, Abdullah bin Omar, may God be pleased with them, narrates: “The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: O God, strengthen Islam,” meaning: strength And support him, raising his status over disbelief, “I love these two men to you: Abu Jahl or Umar ibn al-Khattab,” meaning: by converting one of them to Islam. Since there was a strong and severe nature in the two of them, which made it most likely that they did not become Muslim, so the greed for one of them to become Muslim was great, let alone the two of them becoming Muslim. May God bless him and grant him peace, Omar bin Al-Khattab was right, and it appeared that he loved the two men to God Almighty, as he guided him to Islam and honored him with it.
And in the hadith: an explanation of the virtue of Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, with a mention of two victories for him, namely: the glory that Islam has gained through his conversion to Islam, and the love of God Almighty for him.
I stayed a year wanting to ask Umar ibn al-Khattab about a verse, but I could not ask him out of fear for him, until he went out as a pilgrim, so I went out with him. Believers, who are the two wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace? He said: Those are Hafsa and Aisha. Omar: By God, if we were in the Jahiliyyah, we did not prepare a matter for women, until God sent down what He revealed to them, and divided for them what He divided. And why here? And what does it cost you? In a matter I want, she said to me: Wow, Ibn Al-Khattab! What do you want to go back to, and that your daughter would go back to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, so that his day would remain angry? Hafsa said: By God, we will review him, so I said: You know that I warn you of God’s punishment and the wrath of His Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. O daughter, do not be deceived by this one whose beauty was admired by the love of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, for her - he wanted Aisha - he said: Then I went out until I entered on Umm Salama is due to my kinship with her, so I spoke to her, and Umm Salama said: How amazing you are, O Ibn Al-Khattab! She entered into everything until she wanted to enter between the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and his wives, so she took me - by God - with a seizure that broke me from some of what I was finding, so I went out from her, and I had a companion from the Ansar who, if I was absent, would bring me the news, and if he was absent, I would bring him the news. And we were afraid of a king from the kings of Ghassan, he mentioned to us that he wanted to walk to us, so our chests were filled with him, so if my companion Al-Ansari knocked on the door, he said: Open, open, and I said: Has Al-Ghassani come? He said: Rather worse than that, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, retired from his wives. And a black ladder at the top of the stairs, so I said to him: Say: This is Umar bin Al-Khattab, so he gave me permission. Omar said: So I told the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, this hadith. There is something between him and him, and under his head is a pillow made of human leather and its filling is fiber, and at his feet there is molded corn, and at his head there is a hanging donut. I said: O Messenger of God, Chosroes and Caesar are in what they are in, and you are the Messenger of God! He said: Are you not satisfied that the world is theirs and the Hereafter is ours?
