He's obsessed with extreme cold. He lives in one of the coldest places on Earth and he spends a lot of time finding warmth in his frozen world. He has a small tent and a cabin and both are amazing in dangerously cold weather.
Do yourself a favour.. if you havent already burned all that old sheet plywood... build a temporary lean-to to park the sno-mo ... anything has to be better for the battery than parking in below -50ºc conditions. share a little of the building's thermal loss into a mini garage rather than the sky
Chicken dinner is way better with gravy so we'll done for that but Jay! Where's the Yorkshire Pudding?? Come on man get your Yorkshire Pudding game on point!!🤣
Not many people have experience with 'squeaky' snow. When I was in college (just south of Canadian border) we had a week of temperatures below -30 F. Any activity in those conditions is an adventure, whether starting your car or simply taking a walk. Doing all your camping in those conditions shows that you have what our ancestors had when they conquered the wilderness in North America hundreds of years ago. For those out there watching that have never experience those temperatures, know that doing so alone puts Jay in a position where one mistake could put his life at risk. We've seen a couple close calls over the years where getting the snowmobile started took some extra effort (like moving a stove next to the machine to warm it up). Not having a way home, if he had failed, could have been a big problem for Jay, yet he tackled the issue with a positive attitude and managed to get it running, like it was a routine thing. Keep it up Jay. We'll be watching to see what other obstacles you can conquer along the way. PS. Put some chicken in that gravy and then put it over some of your Mom's baking powder biscuits. It's a real treat.
Truly amazing 😊 I'm from South Texas temperature here is really hot 105 degrees. I used to live in Morehead Minnesota. I miss the snow and freezing temperatures.
Never know Texas may get cold it has happened. You all could take a winter vacation to Minnesota and get your fill and then go back to Texas. Then you will be happy to be back in warm state. Blessings.
Snow fall in Katy, Texas in February, 2021. My daughter found a snow suit for her nine month old daughter. We have a pic of baby girl sitting in the Snow. Unreal
There are people who thrive in extreme conditions. Look in Alaska this past winter was brutal and yet they survived it is all about preparations. There is nothing wrong with people it is the excitement and adventure. It beats the 9 to 5 job which is boring. Blessings.
Don't drink the yellow snow. 🤣Isn't all of the outdoors a refrigerator? Maybe with bears and critters though. Can you take out battery from outside equipment and keep it in tent/cabin?
Jay Jay Jay u never seems 2 amaze me your hard work & dedication is so awesome but foremost the cinematography hits hard keep on doing what you do & the sky is the limit 4 you no doubt , Thanks 18:40 for taking us from the tent 2 the cabin very interesting & clever I didn't see that 1 coming Be Safe & Take Care 🙏😊
Love it dude; keep up the absolutely amazing work. I miss Winter when I was living in Montana, and since I am now in Florida due to work, I live vicariously through your videos.
This was a intriguing video compared to the usual @ Jay. This one had emotional music setting the pace and a flow to the camera work that made it very relaxing to view. I compare it to a made for TV production. >@^_*@
I have no difficulty understanding your love for this beautiful place. Makes my heart soar, just to see it through your lens. And I don't mean your camera's lens.
What a treat to watch your vids! You are so fortunate to live where you do, I can't believe you've gotten that much snow and cold so soon. My absolute favourite is extreme cold and dark, and hopefully, one day I can live out that dream, but unfortunately, for now, I live in Vancouver. But I digress. Looking forward to more of your vids this winter and btw, nice editing :)
Hi Jay ! I remember hearing the snow squeak as walking it! I was born in Maine and left the State at 18!! ( not my choice)!! But I’ve “ played “ in some very cold temps!! Boy!! That was a long time ago!!
The cold is coming! When your videos are 20-30 minutes, how are you spending the rest of the hours in a day? You can only cut and split so much firewood. Maybe you could tell us what a typical day is like in -40˚C temperatures! Thanks for reminding us of what is coming after your vacation in Labrador. It will be fun spending the winter watching you work on the cabin. Stay safe!
Fantastic video Jay! You're very fortunate to be able to escape to such beautiful place's. Food always tastes better when you are at the cabin or camping. And yes gravy goes fantastic with roasted chicken and vegetables. Cheers
Jay I think this was one of your best videos yet! The combination of the variety, music, drone footage was amazing. Up at my cabin in Northern British Columbia and it just hit 0 degrees C. Feels really warm after watching your video 👍
Bonjour Jay j'adore tes vidéos et celui la est un merveilleux résumé de tes anciens je vie au Lac St-Jean et où l'hiver est roi quoique moins brutal qu'au NWT I love ice fishing with my trustee old VK 540 keep up the amazing an authentic video your offer to us from Dolbeau,Qc cheer bro
Man….great video jay, really enjoyed watching, the music you had in the background went really well with the actual video content One of my favorite show a few years ago was the “last Alaskans” your video reminded me of those shows with Heimo Korth. Kevin from MI
I am writing from Maine, USA, and the lowest temp I have experienced here in the middle of winter is -20 degrees F. I love the cold winter but this cold enough for even me. Everyone that lives here has at least one wood stove; they are mandatory. Great video and I really enjoyed it.
I've been following you for several years now, since the tent. I really enjoyed your adventures in that tent. You and I learned a lot...lol. Now with your cabin, I'm looking forward to this year's winter adventure. It's going to be a great one! Thanks for sharing past memories with us.
Awesome video thank you. I remember living in Pine City, MN in the early 60’s and we would get cold winters and walking on the snow hearing the crunching sound. Great snowy winters.
This was informative of the Northern Lights and how cold it gets. I missed this video, so you all have to get colder than many places especially in the USA. The food looked great, and the gravy makes it all bring it together. I will look forward to your next adventure and many more. Blessings
Nice short copulation video. It been good watching you on your journey. I started watching you back when you had your first canvas tent and putting a pallet floor in. The you put in the plywood flooring. So far so good. Thanks Jay.
Not much words for this video then ‘ just wow’. Cant wait to see the frozen adventure start soon. What a treat this already was. Thank you for that Jay!
Invest in a hair dryer place it under the hood of the snowmobile only takes about 5 , 10 min to warm enough to start obviously point at motor on low setting works for me all the time
Hi Jay I'm sure you know this trick,if you have a Nalgene bottle they're dishwasher safe, do that means if you fill it with boiling water stuff it in a sock or similar it makes an excellent hot water bottle then as a bonus the next morning you have that bottle of water which is unfrozen and can go straight in your pot to be heated up 👍
Nice highlight real if why I love your channel 👍 looking forward to sitting in my warm living Room here in Scotland watching the super cold and deep snow life
I absolutely know it is not easy to survive in the extreme temperatures but sometimes you make it look easy, if someone who could not afford all the stuff that you have accumulated to survive the weather they wouldn’t last a day. I love your channel !
Cum on jay you eat some good fatty food in summer too good to see you back in the tent hut keep them coming the blogs dark nights on the way ere in 🇬🇧 uk 👍👍👍👍👍
There is always something special about getting out in the first new snow of the season. I hope you'll be there to do that and share it with us. Stay safe and have fun.
If they make some kind of block heater or something for the snowmachine, that would be ideal with those conditions. I would hate to have to not have that thing start in an emergency.
