Damn you still believe that u can even survive- Wait no ur grandma can survive WW3? Are u hearing what he says Russia and usa have nuclear bombs that can destroy the whole world
Fun fact: this happened again in 1983 Moscow when a lieutenant was given warning of U.S nuclear icbm were inbound but he gave the order not to fire back when asked why he didn’t do it he said “I had funny feeling in my gut”
Fun fact: Arkhipov wasn't even supposed to be on the submarine. Only 2 officers onboard had to approve, but since Vasily was there as well, he had to approve as well.
Fun story: this guy also saved my grades. I had to get my grades up for English and we had to do some presentation about our hero. Everyone chose the cliché heroes like their parents or Mandela but I had to do something special. I just searched the date of birth of my English teacher on Wikipedia, came on this guy and when I did my presentation my teacher was curious af, kept asking questions (wasn't that prepared so I made things up) and then at the end said:"you know, I am also born that day". Did like I was shocked, got a 19,5/20.
I made a similar presentation about Stanislav Petrov who just so happens to be another Soviet officer that saved the world by using common sense while receiving the signal of five "ICBMs" in his new radar station. He said : nobody starts a nuclear war with 5 missiles.
This man literally saved the world, launching that would have both countries launching other nukes, and just a few would have the world destroyed due to the intense impacts. If I ever meet this guy I just wanna give him a hug
@@Believeinthe_LordJesusChristJesus didn’t die for our sins either. And though I don’t think this guy should be Jesus he saved more lives than Jesus ever did.
@@Tyri-wz9mxJesus did die for our sins in the bible, though we dont know if it really happened, you cannot say that he didnt die for our sins, try to research before you mention bs
Funny part is, he wasn’t even supposed to be on b-59, he was the flotilla commander and thus he decided to go on b-59. Normally it takes 2 people to launch it
@@Corejanjanpossibly, but In altering the course of the past into ww3, he can not be born. If he was never born, how did he go back in time to stop ww3?
@@exrly9691ok so thats actually not how that works So lets say it did happen, then that guy would time travel back in time and stop it, which means he wouldnt exist, making it happen again. Putting it in a loop But because he always comes back, it will always have the second outcome of him being there. This is all theoretical just like time travel, but this would be closer to how a loop would work unless reality would just break which is what movies and cartoons always do
The crazy part is that this has happened multiple times. There were numerous occasions during the Cold War in which people thought that they were being attacked, but the bravery of one person to take the risk, go against their obligation and orders, and not press the button, ended up preventing what really would have been the first attack, and outbreak of WWIII.
Yup, and they're just the ones we know about. Stanislav Petrov did something similar when their new radar system detected multiple inbound ICBM's, he wouldn't fire because he thought it could be a glitch, and it was...It was actually a false alarm, sunlight bouncing off high altitude clouds. He lost his job for daring to go against USSR orders, even though he prevented the apocalypse.
Actually, Vasili was just watching over them. In reality, Only the Captain and Political Officer had to approve. But since the literal Vice Admiral of the Soviet Navy was aboard, he overpowered them and denied the launch, and forced them to surface. Gg’s Vasili Arkhipov. 1926 -1998

The entire history goes deeper than that. The submarine actually hid at a large depth at the approach of the enemy ship and lost all connection with the surface. However, they spent a few days there and US ships wanted to tell them to resurface (of pure kindness), so they signalled that with the charges
It feels kind of like Frozen Ever After; a D-ticket. That would have been fine on its own, but it replaced a major iconic E-ticket. I personally don't think this should be compared to Splash, but to Fantasy Springs Frozen ride, since that's the kind of ride they were trying to make. They had the chance to have a really emotional story with many animatronics, but they decided to play safe.
