@@janisianchannel We appreciate YOU, reaching out Janis! I can’t begin to tell you how much your music means to me, especially when I heard “At Seventeen,” when I was 17. You’re a Poet~Soothsayer gifted guitarist extraordinaire. 🫶🤍🤍
Yes! 🎉 Laura Nyro is fantastic, also. “Wedding Bell Blues” & “Stoned Soul Picnic” are my favorites of hers, plus “Poverty Train.” So many hits from both ladies
Amazing recording! All the musicians are BRINGIN' it, and I love that vocal blend. There is a reason why I always go back to Janis Ian recordings. ❤ I only wish I could have experienced hearing her in person.
The thing about these live versions of Janis Ian’s “The Man You Are In Me” that makes me want to listen to it is the jazzy-swing-bop instrumental near the end with the scatting near the end. Even the drums building up to it have that jazzy feel to it that give that attracting flavour. The studio version doesn’t have that. It almost sounds “big band”. I wish it would’ve lasted longer.
I remember her 1st song in 67 , it was conciderd. so controversial that only the underground played it “. I was able to buy it in L.A. I was 17 and now I’m 75 . Real music is dead ,
