The fact that they got Mark Hamill to come back, de-aged, and his younger voice. 👌😭💙 Luke got his own hallway scene!!! FUCKING R2-D2!!!!!!!!! Seeing Din holding the Darksaber felt fucking amazing, and to show Grogu his face was heart-melting. 😭 I was screaming and crying that whole finale. May the Force be with you guys!!!

Great reaction! This episode was EVERYTHING! The entire season was fantastic too. But this finale was the culmination of what every fan has been wanting for DECADES. Filoni and Favreau are LEGENDS.

I give you guys a lot of credit for keeping it together. I screamed & cried when I saw the single X-Wing and new it was Red-5! Masterpiece!!!!

"Is it Trapper Wolf?" Honestly, that was my first thought too. I thought for a moment that it was going to be Trapper Wolf leading the cavalry in. Then they said "One X-Wing..." and it clicked. My next thought was "Don't fuck this up..." ...And they didn't.

What I thought of the episode .... childhood nostalgia and awe the moment I saw Luke’s face....and screamed and tears, cheering. But loved baby Grogu acting like a typical infant ... touching his dadolorian’s face. And then asking to be carried by Luke.

I'm a 42 year old man but when I watched this episode and my childhood hero Luke Skywalker, I was a 5 year old boy again. Epic!

Watched with my friend and my dad and we were in awe. Absolutely amazing finale.

Y'alls reaction and knowledge is why I am here. The emotional roller coaster this episode brought plus the end credit scene was nothing I ever expected or experienced. This is why I love Star Wars. Glad that you guys exist. Thanks so much.

Everybody's forgetting, (conveniently, perhaps?) that Bo Katan is no longer in possession of the Darksaber, or her Planet, BECAUSE she just took it from Sabine without winning it in battle. Even if it's not actually the case, in her mind it most likely is. And that's PLENTY enough reason to prevent her from just taking it again from the Mandalorian right now. Sabine beat Gar Saxon for the Darksaber outside her parent's house in Rebels, but refused to kill him after disarming him and telling him to yield. But, when he refused and tried shooting her when she was walking away her mother shot him through the chest instead. Saving her life. Since then Sabine had handed the Darksaber over to Bo Katan, and at that point she hadn't won it in combat herself. Most likely creating enough doubt and apprehension about her rule over Mandalore that before long, it was in the hands of Moff Gideon and she was exiled from her Planet. I really don't think it's any more trivial than that, she's clearly NOT about to repeat that mistake, especially in front of her fellow Mandalorians and Moff Gideon himself, and risk having the Darksaber without having first proven she's EARNED it. And, They don't just have to fight, Bo Katan would need to WIN, but she wouldn't necessarily have to kill him, just defeat him in combat the Same way the Mandalorian was able to disarm Moff Gideon, relinquishing the Darksaber to him, the weapon's new rightful owner. If she wants it now,, she's going to have to disarm him of it at the very least, and against the Mandalorian it's hardly a certainty at ALL that Bo Katan would be able to do that. (I'm just sayin') 👍

It's been a day and it *still* hasn't fully sunken in for me. I cannot describe how happy this season has made me. The closest I can is; It made me feel like a kid again. From seeing Boba alive, Bo Katan & Ashoka live-action, and now Luke Skywalker in his prime before the mess of TLJ. And all the little sprinkles of info/lore. I haven't been this satisfied with a tv show since the Last Airbender. lol With Favreau and Filoni in charge of the story/direction, I feel like a golden age of SW is possible if not already here. It's been a pleasure riding this out with y'all. I can't wait to see what's next. Happy holidays everyone! It's my hope that everyone stays safe and here's to 2021!

Bo has lost the saber like 3 times. The saber has United the Mandalorians before yes. But the mandos don’t get along based off who they think is weak and strong. She pulls up with the darksaber which she didn’t win officially, she won’t be properly respected by a good portion of who remains.

Why Bo-Katan won't take the Darksaber - this is her third try at ruling Mandalore. The first time, she was put on the throne by the Republic, and then she failed. She was overthrown by the Empire. The second time, she accepted the Darksaber without fighting for it, and then she failed. She was overthrown by the Empire _again._ It's hardly surprising that after that, she wants to make sure she does it _right_ this time.

Grogu was hidden during Anakin's assault on the Jedi Temple. R2 was there because he accompanied Anakin when he returned to Padme afterward. I think R2D2 hid Grogu.

Loved the Battlestar Galactica visual references when the TIE fighters were launching and Katie crash-landed into the cruiser ;-)

This is the real reason Boba needed that armor, because nobody knows who he is without it. He needs that street cred to take over Jabba's operation.

Best EVER! I nearly pulled my hair out when Luke sliced through.

I suspect we’ll see Sebastian Stan as Luke in Season 3, but it HAD to be Mark Hamill in this season’s climax for a whole host of reasons. This was The Best Ending to a TV Series Season EVER!

Luke- sees his fathers face before his father dies. Grogu- sees his Fathers face before he leaves with Luke. I love this. I love this so damn much.

Season 3 predictions: 1) Grogu will be back. He won't be in the whole season, perhaps even just the finale, but he's too important to the fanbase and the merchandise sales to leave him on the bench the whole season. Hopefully, his return will also see some development from him that makes him more independent - perhaps even being able to talk clearly? 2) The retaking of Mandalore will be a big event throughout the season, but it won't be the focus of the story. The audience has been built up on the back of the relationship between Din and Grogu; you can't take that same audience and change the story into a political thriller or a war story, and expect to keep your audience. The retaking of Mandalore will be like bounty hunting was in the first season - a storytelling engine, something that can create the situations they have to deal with,. but the core of the story will be something more intimate. Perhaps Din has to take command of a group of foundlings, and both lead them into battle and teach them what it means to be Mandalorian at the same time. Perhaps he'll meet a long-forgotten sibling, someone who's taken a vow of pacifism, and they have to work out how they relate to one another with such vastly different viewpoints. Perhaps he'll fall in love (hope not). Whatever it is, that will be the main focus of the story. 3) Gideon will flip and become a reluctant ally. He's a valuable asset, with a lot of information both the Republic and Mandalore will want; he'll exchange that information for protection from Grand Admiral Thrawn. He'll be the slimy "ally" nobody really trusts, but who they have to rely on. Special Guest Speculation 4) The Book of Boba Fett will include some of the surviving clone troopers. We know that Rex was at the Battle of Endor, and that Wolfe at least survived up to the Battle of Lothal, and having Temuera Morrison as a regular is too good an opportunity to waste. It's the perfect opportunity to check in with some of our favourite clones.

That is how you tell a story I think Favro knew that’s where he wanted to go from day 1 and they just took 16 episodes to tell that story. Amazing, simply amazing

Here's my take on this episode. If what fans and all of us are complaining about is that the lips didn't match up perfectly when Luke talked, that is an extremely good problem to have and everyone involved in this did everything nearly right

Loved this episode, loved the Luke and Vader "its like poetry, it rhymes" hallway moment. Excited to see how Mando's story will progress, great reaction ya'll, entertaining as always!

Dudes I was crying so hard when Luke showed up to be a complete badass!!! This season of the Mandalorian has made the 14 year old kid in me very, very happy. So many great callbacks in this episode too. Din giving up Grogu to a Jedi, just like Shmi with Anakin. Din taking off his helmet so he could see Grogu with his own eyes, like Vader with Luke. Luke's fighting style matching Anakin's. The tv's with Dark Troopers marching is I think an easter egg for THX 1138, but it might be another movie. 10/10 masterpiece!

Ben solo is a infant right now if he's even born yet , there is great chance that grogoo was trained and moved on before ben came to the school and eventually killed everyone

About the fan-theory that R2 saved Grogu... I think it was the Youngling that fought the 501st to let Bail Organa escape. I think he saw Bail fly in and hid Grogu in his trunk before jumping into the Troopers to save them both

Yes! I was waiting for you guys' reaction to drop, yours are the best I suspected it would be Luke when the X-Wing arrived and it being a Jedi basically confirmed it for me. I was expecting him to be being played by Sebastian Stan, so my jaw genuinely hit the ground when I saw the recreation of young Mark Hamill. He looks like he just walked off the set of Jedi in 1983. Managed to keep it together during Dinn and Grogu's farewell, though I definitely had a lump in my throat. Really excited for season 3, and for the Book of Boba Fett

anyone who complains about the CG is either addicted to complaining and/or actively looks for things to complain about. this episode is hard to react to. the music, the portrayal, Luke at his peak, his own Vader scene, the helmet, the dark saber, Book of Bobba Fett... I mean how can anyone ever complain about this episode? it was f****** perfect.

If they are doing what I think they're doing, Boba will take control of Tatooine and declare it the new home world for the Mandalorians. That conversation between Bo and Boba struck a cord in him and he is now setting out for something greater. Imagine Boba on the Throne with Bo and Din wielding the Darksaber by his side. Together they could rally every Mandalorian to join them in creating The Mandalorian Order. Poetic that the birthplace of the Chosen One in the Jedi Prophecy would turn out to be the new Mandalorian safe haven. It all just makes too much sense

I inhaled and then bawled like a baby out of joy the second I saw Luke Skywalker. As a middle aged fan who saw the OG Trilogy in the theaters, I've been waiting almost 50 years for this. It's lazy and easy to kill off an iconic character, it takes hard earned genius to create one. This had all the love and respect and honor that Luke Skywalker deserved. He was powerful beyond belief, and all from the light side of the Force. Finally finally. May the Force be with Filoni and Favreau always.

This was the Jedi Master Skywalker that the fans deserved to see on the screen.

I just thought of this...it's cheap...but it works. . Young Ben Solo and Rey Palpatine are indeed a Dyad in the Force, but the events of the sequel trilogy were all a Force vision they each encountered while BOTH were being trained at Luke's Academy TOGETHER. . Once it's all over and Rey puts the lightsabers in the dirt, the vision ends for both of them and the children wake up realizing they have much more to learn.

Grogu totally recognized R2...that's the reason he let go of Din and walked over to R2, and when R2 realized who Grogu was, he got excited and happy, rocking back and forth.

They should have had Grogu wave goodbye from the elevator at the end. That would have literally broke me.

One thing about the beskar spear glowing red , is not a normal thing ,but instead is showing us that the DARK SABER is much stronger than regular a lightsaber, and according to Sabine is also heavier ,which makes sense

Sequel Trilogy: Kills off Han, Luke, Leia, and Kylo. Makes Palpatine’s granddaughter the last “Skywalker”. Wrecks Anakin’s legacy. The Mandalorian: Brings back Boba Fett and turns him into a complete badass, turns Ahsoka and Bo Katan into live-action characters, brings back Luke and makes him what he should’ve been in TLJ. Filoni and Favreau saved Star Wars and need to be in charge going forward. This season was incredible. Every Friday felt like Christmas morning. The future is so great for Star Wars fans!

So glad you guys realised it was Luke instantly, so many reactors somehow didn't notice until he took his hood off. Also, did you notice the deflect block he did over his shoulder? Identical to the one Anakin did in Revenge Of The Sith.

I didn't even care that Luke was CGI. It was probably Mark Hamill's last opportunity to be the Luke we all knew and loved. Like you guys said, I don't even care that there were some uncanny valley moments, it's *Luke fucking Skywalker.* Maybe Sebastian will take up the mantle in the future, maybe this was the last we see of Luke. Either way I'm so happy. I thought my hype was at max with Luke, then I saw Boba take control of the palace.... Reminding us that even though he's honorable he's not really a "good guy." He has control of Tatooine and a lot of the Outer Rim with that seat. So hyped to see what they do with it.

Obviously the fans know what kicks ass and corporate bloodsuckers don't. I was shocked that Luke was in the Mandalorian so quickly. It shows that they want to put as much into into these episodes as possible instead of just milking (pun intended) some drawn out soap opera. I hope all of these threads come back in the near future.

This is the first time we have seen Luke at the height of his force driven combat prowess. I am totally satisfied.

when I first seen the credit scene I was thinking "the book" they are going to make a book? then I got to thinking it probably means like a bookies book. boba picks up jabas books and starts to collect on his owed debts. the book is a literal book of people that owe....and you dont want your name in that book

R2-D2 did meet yoda and he talked with him a bunch in the yoda arc in clone wars season 6.

When I saw the name of the channel, I just had to comment, especially since we got to see the Dark Troopers in action. Mainly because it really comes around. When Kyle was first introduced in a videogame, it was about the first Dark Force Troopers (Robotic forces). Or what I like to call, the 2nd attempt to make robotic forces improving from the weakness of the designs back in episode 1-3. I was cool to see them canonized through this series. When they said they were series 3, I was wondering if the Dark Forces were series 2 (by including the clones), or was there another series after the Dark Force Troopers during Katarn's story, and before the ones we see here?

I’m not even a super fan of the og movies and I freak out when I see the x-wing, then I say nah probably another dude, then I see the cloak and the green saber and I say “fuck nah they don’t have the balls, I don’t believe it” and then I saw his hand in glove and I have to pause, holy shit. And yeah his fighting style was also on point it really remind me of Luke movements. Great stuff.

I think I was in shock most of the episode and immediately started sobbing once the credits started rolling ❤️

Jon Favreau said they are two separate series, with the Boba show going first next December and Mando Season 3 starting "soon after". What he said could be interpreted to mean that Mando will begin production after Boba which COULD mean that Season 3 of Mando won't hit D+ until 2022! Hopefully that's not the case.

The silver ball from the Razorcrest might have reminded Grogu of R2?

This episode had a few small issues but was still incredibly awesome. You guys have my favorite Luke reaction.
