Keep in mind, Grogu was at the Jedi Academy on Coruscant so there's a great chance that he's seen and talked to R2D2. It also might be why Grogu likes silver round domes, because it's R2's head. The two of them recognized each other and R2 was happy and Grogu was curious and homesick.

If Mando hadn't made that dive, Luke would have felt pretty foolish for casually strolling in just in time to rescue a bloody pile of green flesh.

I have a theory, and it could be wrong of course, that the reason the Imp pilot starts pushing Cara like that is that he really was on the Death Star and over the years the guilt has eaten away at him. Too reliant on Imperial order to break ranks, too cowardly to end it himself, in the moment he saw an opportunity for a Rebel to end it all for him and he took it. He had probably been secretly hoping a Rebel/New Republic pilot would shoot him down for years. Also: Props to Sasha Banks for hitting Fuego Del Sol's Tornado DDT and reminding us all what a truly devastating move it is.

Agreed with you that it was great to watch the Mandalorian's character arc. It was also wonderful to see a director show that it was possible to have really strong female characters without having to turn every male character into a loser.

Lol the show is “the mandalorian” not “the midget yoda”. It’s about Din. Now that chapter is done and he moves on to another in season 3. And grogu didnt make a new friend, they probably knew each other since grogu was raised at the temple and R2 was a jedi droid, hell he was with darth vader when he slaughtered the younglings( and yes he was darth vader at that point, suit or no suit, jedi anakin was long gone by then) so he may have had something to do with his rescue from the temple

Mando's first priority, being on his own, was to remain undiscovered, using the main assault team as a diversion. Had he been discovered, the Imperials would have realized this and gone after him, jeopardizing the mission. While I agree that he could have moved faster than he did, the idea was for him to be sneaky, and it's hard to be sneaky if you rush--you have to keep stopping and checking, and even when you're moving you don't want to move too fast so that you can quickly change direction and hide at a moment's notice. Moving slower also makes you quieter, which both helps you avoid detection and allows you to hear the enemy better. Basically, Mando's job was to be as stealthy as possible while making his way to his objectives. He was just a second or two slow, but still achieved his objectives.

I agree that Boba's ship, Slave I, looks kind of like an elephant. I never noticed this until you mentioned it. Personally, I've always seen it as looking more like an iron for smoothing out one's clothes. I've always thought it was a strange, awkward design, but unique, and the really cool thing about it is all the capabilities it has--it's sort of the spacecraft equivalent of Mandalorian armor.

Fantastic Finale episode! I definitely want to see scenes of Luke training baby Grogu! I hope he makes it back into season 3! My solution to the Dark Saber issue -- If Mando marries Bo Katan, Problem Solved, RIGHT?!

For your information, Mark Hamill (Luke) tweeted about Luke's appearance on that last episode after it was released...... Mark knew about Luke's appearance about a year. He worked with Jon and Dave on Luke's appearance. They planned it during pre-production of Season 2. They use a body double (British actor named Max Lloyd-Jones) and CGI crew created software for younger face of Mark Hamill to be superimposed on Max's. Mark dubbed the lines. I believed this appearance of Luke (Mark) is not the last because Din (Mando) wants to know the status of his "kid", Grogu

you forgotten to turn of the The soap opera effect ( "is actually a feature of many modern televisions. It's called "motion smoothing," "motion interpolation," or "ME/MC" for motion estimation/motion compensation on the tv", its great for sports, it sucks for anything else that isnt sports or was not shot in 60FP)...

I understand what you're saying about Episode 7 but, for me, it brought back all the feels I had when I saw Episode 4 in theaters in 1977. The nostalgia just washed over me.

The thing about fighting with blades, at least realistically, is that almost regardless of skill, everyone is going to get cut, and while Gideon's particular blade, the Darksaber, could not cut pure beskar, any hit on an exposed area would have severed whatever it touched and potentially killed Mando, which automatically made Gideon an opponent to be feared. This goes especially in this case because of Gideon's sheer aggressiveness, which was the best option he had, although clearly he is a trained, skilled fighter, as well. Mando is far more skilled, but had to be very careful to avoid instant grievous injury or death against such a weapon, and frankly he was lucky to escape Gideon's initial attack unharmed. Without "plot armor" Mando probably would be dead. I mean, he visibly missed a bunch of blocks, and all of those strikes happened to hit beskar instead of flesh. I agree that Mando did very, very well to survive and prevail in this case, even with his superior level of skill. The best way to fight a non-Jedi armed with the Darksaber or a lightsaber is a blaster, no question. Just shoot the bastard and be done with it. Of course, Mando was forced to drop his blaster earlier, so all he had was the beskar staff, which left him at a huge disadvantage, even with his superior level of skill. I have to admit that I was afraid for Mando, even though I pretty much knew that Gideon wasn't nearly as skilled (and that Mando is the star of the show ;) ). The Darksaber is a fearsome weapon that cuts like nothing else (except the equivalent lightsaber)--just one slip past beskar would have been very bad for Mando. And unlike the case of Ahsoka fighting the Magistrate, for comparison, Gideon was rather viciously trying to kill Mando (while Ahsoka was trying to avoid killing her opponent).

Cara had the big, heavy repeating blaster rifle slung on her shoulder from the beginning. When she first exited the shuttle, though, she used her pistol instead because it is more maneuverable: she could aim it in any direction more quickly to cover a larger area/volume. Then when their path turned into narrower hallways, she switched to the repeater for greater firepower against more numerous, concentrated groups of stormtroopers, but it quickly jammed. At that point, a trained soldier like her should have dropped the repeater (still slung to her shoulder) and switched back to her pistol instead of trying to clear the malfunction while under fire, but of course this is fiction, which usually prefers drama over realism. Anyway, this is the very same weapon that she managed to clear in the elevator (while cursing profusely :) ) and then used to tremendous effect against the stormtroopers piled up in front of the bridge. It's a good thing that she brought the weapon and managed to get it working right, or else the team might have started taking hits and casualties within that confined space. Maybe the reason you didn't notice it earlier was that it jammed after firing only a few rapid shots. Had it not jammed, then I'm sure you would have noticed the change in the volume of fire that Cara was able to produce right away. Once again, Cara used her pistol most of the way because it was handier and more maneuverable, switched to the heavy repeater in narrow hallways but it jammed almost immediately, used it as a club because she's a big, beefy "girl" who can crush coconuts with her bare hands, cleared the malfunction, and then mowed down stormtroopers like grass with it. :)

Star wars is the story of the skywalkers . 4,5,6 is the story of luke starting as a no one learning the force and finding out who his family is. 1,2,3 is the story of anakin and how he became vader. So why is 7,8,9 about anything other than how luke meets mara jade have kids and what the next generation of SKYWALKER get up too. I will tell you bad people not knowing and understanding what star wars is about. Add bad writing bad direction and bad people having there own agendas what do you get 7,8,9 . This series was people understanding the lore , good writing and good people wanting to produce good tv. This team of people need to wipe 7,8,9 out and produce what should be what the story is about then they can introduce other charaters and tell stories about these but dont call it star wars if the main charater is not a skywalker.

Highly recommend watching “Star Wars SC 38 Reimagined” it’s a fan made, but very well done. Plus it’s got a little of both trilogies, one of the most iconic scenes from the originals with that Episode 3 saber action.

I've been a fan from the beginning and you hit the nail on your point of it having a human feel AND it feels like Star Wars💯🎬 and yes this pulled me back to watching Star Wars. Again. I don't feel we'll see less of Grogu, but more of Skywalker🙏... let's Hope🤞🏽

Yes, CGI Luke could be in a series because there have been movies where an performer was CGI throughout the movie. The Luke in Last Jedi was not the Luke you saw in this show's episode. Luke would never be like that. He might have become despondent but would have very soon pulled out of it to help his friends.

The management of Lucasfilm would never, in a thousand years, have allowed this series to have become what it has, and to do what it has done, especially its portrayal of Luke Skywalker in his prime. _The Mandalorian_ is the start of Disney's attempt to save _Star Wars_ from Lucasfilm management. Disney chairman Bob Iger and CEO Bob Chapek have given their go-to guy, Jon Favreau, full creative control over this show and several other upcoming _Star Wars_ productions. Favreau and Filoni are free from interference from Lucasfilm, and do as they please. Their shows will be competing against upcoming _Star Wars_ TV shows from Lucasfilm. This is the difference you're seeing. It's Disney versus Lucasfilm in the _Star Wars_ civil war that is currently raging within Disney. Who knows where this will lead, but Disney sure delivered the goods with this show. I hope that eventually Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy will be buried and taken out of the canon as the rubbish it is.
