Ahsoka is perfect. And all KOTOR things in this episode are just icing on the cake. After all these years finally Star Wars is Star Wars again. Thank you Dave!
I like it actuallt connecting ALL trilogies, like people have there issues with the prequels and or sequels, its nice that theres something for everyone
well i don’t think so cause Giancarlo ( Moff Gideon actor) said this season sets up a lot of things for season 3 and 4, so i’m assuming he means thrown, and boba being in it later
The Magister was portrayed by Diane Lee Inosanto daughter of Dan Inosanto. The reveal of Baby Yoda's true name Grogu could be the key to Luke Skywalker creating the Jedi Academy on Tatooine. This could be the dawn of the Jedi. Grand Admiral Thrawn surviving says Ezra Bridger could've have survived as well when they both of them jumped into hyperspace. There was also a nice Tombstone easter egg with Michael Beihn with the standoff similar to his character Johnny Ringo and Doc Holiday but this time with Din Djarin.
@@user-tx4uw5jb4o I like how the name is catching on haha. I don't think they will go down this path, I feel like this show is trying to put some distance between itself and the Sequel trilogy. I think Dave Filoni, of all people, knows that most fans don't even consider the sequels to be canon with how terrible they came out. It's best if they just left that part of the SW history unexplored and let people forget about it. The skywalkers also need to go away. In a galaxy of Trillions, they can't be connected to anything and everything important.
@@tinlunlau1 yup. Perfect timing because the show Warrior on Cinemax is based on the writings of Bruce Lee and the pen-ultimate episode of season 2 is Enter the Dragon.
Grogus backstory added such tragedy to this character. Really worried that the emperor used him to create snoke as we already saw the cloning tubes in a previous episode
Unpopular opinion possibly worth adding: I have a feeling that the Mandalorian will attempt to bridge all gaps between each trilogy and enhance the sequel trilogy by explaining its way around terrible plot points......
Diana Lee Inosanto is also Bruce Lee's goddaughter. Seeing the name "Inosanto" in the credits made me raise my eyebrows and get on Wikipedia to confirm my suspicions. I only knew one Inosanto.
Very unique! I thought baby yoda was going be given another name that starts with the letter "Y" just because his other two relative species begin with the letter "Y" as well, Yoda and Yaddle.
Whoa I didn't think about that!! You may be right, it has to Ezra, not because Ahsoka and Thrawn became official in The Mandalorian, but that Lothcat has to be the reference!! 🤯
The only thing that was a bit off-putting (at first) was her voice not matching to Ashley Eckstein's, but that was to be expected. Always a treat seeing Ahsoka in any kind of media!
It's also possible Grogu told Ahsoka he didn't want to leave Mando, she did say once they get to the temple Grogu would have to choose which path he wants to take. The last scene did hint to that also when when Ahsoka was communicating with Grogu as they were leaving.
@@sebastianzuzi311 23 years, the game takes place 5 years after revenge of the sith... so calwas 18 when he was introduced in the game - now is about 41 the same age as Ashoka
Luke wasn't in exile yet on Ahch-To during the Mandolorian. He's probably busy rebuilding the Jedi order for the New republic and training Leia. There's a possibility of Pre- Sequal Trilogy Luke to appear. Given that the main criticism is that fans never got to see post ROTJ Luke, it wouldn't be beyond Favreau and Filoni to deliver.
Facts that made my pants drop (spoilers ahead): - After 2 minutes Ahsoka appears -Baby Yoda has a real name -Admiral Thrawn (the blue bastard from Star Wars Rebels) is still alive, so guess that Ezra didn't kill him after all -She is looking for him and said to Din to put the baby on the top of the mountain and a Jedi might seek for him. My guess, we are about to see Ezra as well as a Jedi, and the lothcats may confirm my guess, a predicition of what might come. We see them a lot in this new episode. This is the Way!
@@MiguelRodriguez-zr7of well he's got a lot of health problems with his heart so you can't expect him to get everything right memory wise after all those medical episodes.
As I’ve said in Episode 5, Grogu hasn’t decided his path yet. So we don’t know if he will be a Jedi. The future is always open. I abandonded the order as you know...
@@princessirulancorrino4695 okay but like he has the force witch kinda considers him a Jedi by default he’s obviously going through the Jedi emotions that’s forsure
I really doubt Grogu is going to be used to bring Ezra or Luke into the show. I've enjoyed the cameo appearances so far but it's going to get over saturated if they do more than what they've done so far. Anyway, the show is primarily about Mando and Grogu so they can't really hand him off to someone else. Who says the kid wants to be be a Jedi anyway? Maybe he wants to be...you know...a Mandalorian.
I think Grogu already had the stone test its least that level at the temple because he can pick up a Mud Horn and block fire. These tests are for Mando I think . I think Grogu wants to helpe Mando and The Mandalorians against Gideon but he cannot say the words and knows Mando will want to do his mission but Mando forgets they were made a Clan by the Armorer and he thinks jedi means his own kind.
Agree! If Mando and Grogu split up, .... game over. Grogu will want to stay with dad!! And become like his dad .... a badass force wielding Mandalorian with a cute little beskar armor outfit! This is the way!!
Ahsoka is not a jedi. Title is wrong. The chapter is called "The Jedi" not because of Ahsoka, but because baby yoda is revealed to be part of the jedi order.
@@erikmchatton Grogu is not a Jedi...he's a baby that was being taken care of at the Jedi Temple. Younglings become padawans who become Jedi's..and I don't even think he could have been considered a youngling yet.
Mando and Grogu as bait to attract Ezra ??? Hmmmm,, what about Mace Windu ? There’s also a tracking device on the Razor Crest! Lots going on here. Ahsoka Tano will spin off with her own series for sure. Mando and Grogu will be inseparable. Then there’s Bokatan! This show can split into three directions.
Thrawn needs his own series (a new canon Thrawn Trilogy). Ahsoka also needs her own series. Both characters are too big and would completely overshadow this show. I wonder if Moff Gidian is a pawn of Thrawn, and Thrawn is trying to do fast cloning like he did in the old Thrawn Trilogy and they need the Baby Yoda blood for the same reasons they needed the Ysalamir to make fast bred clones. So this episode is a setup to another Star Wars series featuring Thrawn. So my thoughts are that this episode is meant to open the door to a Thrawn series and an Ahsoka series.
Filoni is not ready for a film. He brings nothing new to Star Wars & I just cannot see why he is held in such high regard. Just take out all the comfort blankets that the series wraps around franchise fans & there really isn’t much to talk about.
@@darthfader7414 Maybe, but it couldnt have been much worse than what we got. Force Awakens was okay for the most part, however the next two films are all over the place. Thinking about how 1-3 4-6 dont matter anymore is kinda shitty.
Much rather Sebastian Stan as Luke show up.... Cal is most likely getting another game.... also he would be much older during Mandos time period, considering Fallen ORder takes place 5 years after Revenge of the Sith.... a new hope is 14 years after that.... Mandalorian takes place 9 years after that... so Cal would be 23 years older than he is during Fallen Order... they'd have to recast.
I was kinda hoping the childs name would start with the letter "Y" to be honest 😅 like yoda and yaddle, but maybe because din is his caretaker, he would be named yodin, but grogu is fine I guess
I immediately thought of Gizmo.... already though season 1 he reminded me of Gizmo from Gremlins, same shape, same ears, same cutness, same intelligence but can't speak....
About the potential Jedi that could show up What if all of the above show up (Luke, cal/cere, Ezra), even mace may still be alive This may actually be a strong inflence within the skywalker saga, depending on each characters personality. My guess is Luke would not take on grogu, Ezra prob wouldn’t, I’d honestly say cal is the best candidate based on his actions within his game
At the temple, Din and Grogu will meet Force Ghosts (Which would be cool because for Dina, Grogu's powers are already something he doesn't understand, and the ghosts of the Jedi Masters will blow his mind). I hope Din will get Darksaber and become Mandalore.
If Grogu sends out a signal, won't that attract those on the dark side of the force too? The prediction in the video is rational, but my first thought was that the act would attract unwanted persons as well. Can't wait for the next episode! Thanks for the breakdown IGN!
I'm hoping Ashoka appears again, there's clearly still a story going on with her. Thrawn would be a delight to see in the show, probably my favourite villain in the whole of Star Wars. Cal and the Mantis crew, I wouldn't complain if they showed up the timeline is a bit of with them. Fallen Order was only 5 years into the Empire's reign, and you don't really want to lock-in their fates yet when you could still get Fallen Order 2.
No, Grogu isn’t Ezra bait. If it was that simple the rebels sequel & Ashoka’s hunt wouldn’t carry an weight, since the shows aren’t running concurrently. Also, it’s Filoni’s style to pull from legends, & this would be a great opportunity for him to save 1 of his favorite, abstract/lesser known Jedi from the periphery of order 66. Maybe Call from the games to further cement him in verse, though he’s getting a sequel game himself. So I think that’s less likely. I bet it will be a padawan, so Mando ends up keeping Grogu around.
"I don't have no quarrel with you Mandalorian"...A nod to oneq of his famous roles in tombstone right before he is killed by Doc holiday.." I don't have no quarrel with you holiday"
I Think the Test is for Mando Not Grogu because He would have already had the stone test at the temple if he has had jedi teachers. Ahsoka s reactions to the child at the end and throughout seem me more about The Din
I can imagine the world going crazy if only Ashoka tells the the Mando that Grogu is actually the baby of Yoda, also known as baby Yoda, guys we would have been right all along!
i have feeling we gonna see Maz Kanata soon when ashoka talk to her secret about herself..and dangers if empire find you ..she carried a dark secret..she special that she has 2 souls..one is lock in her while other keep her alived this long..if Remanent empire capture her..its all for nothing for the order..she posses ancient force powers that everyone is looking for her
Rex was part of the rebel assault on Endor (Dave Filoni already confirmed that.) He said that he designed the Rex from the Rebels series to look like the old guy with a white beard who was in ROTJ. Look it up... That being said, Rex could have died of old age after the Battle of Endor...
Best episode of season 2 because there is literally no way to definitely predict the plot from this point and will possibly set up the greatest cliffhanger in the entire Star Wars franchise in 3 weeks .... +5 for Grand Master Filoni again
I had a hard time believing that was really Ashoka and not just Rosario Dawson doing an Ashoka cosplay. I kept expecting Ashley Eckstein's voice everytime Ashoka spoke. Also, why were her head tails short like they were in TCW? They were much longer in Rebels.
That bothered me too. She would have looked so much more elegant with them and Dawson’s voice is also far too low. I would have liked to see them be a little more faithful to the character.
@stefan dezitter In Star Wars Legends there are metals that (when vibrated at a certain frequency) resist lightsabers and blaster energy. The early Sith actually used swords (and some preferred them). I assume this is Disney's way of making "Beskar" the canon Vibroblade.
She's the female Mandalorian lead of the trio from a few episodes ago. She's trying to "reclaim her birthright" or something - and needs the Darksaber from Moff Gideon.
I don't understand why light sabers can't cut through Mando's armor, yet Mace Windu decapitated Jango Fet, can someone please explain that to me. I do hope the series talks a little bit about Rey's childhood or at least her parents. I also think it would be cool if the series made references to Star Killer from the Force unleashed. I would also like to know what happened to the female character who was revealed to be a student of Darth Maul at the end of Solo, can someone also please explain that to me. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of room for different characters to be brought in, and I hope that happens.
I wouldn’t think she would do that. I’m just guessing. Maybe they already found him and etc. The question is what happen after they found those two. Is Sabine traveling with Eeze now. Doing there own quest or also looking for thawne again. Or like you mention maybe they still having found them. So hopefully Sabine pops out. Now they could have the another Jedi’s to pop out from the game. However wouldn’t look also sense something. So hmm.
Really hate how ahsoka just ambushes mando and if it wasnt for his armor just straight up murdered him infront of the child and like wtf shes literally friends with bo katan it makes no sense for her to attack mando on sight
Hey dont forget about Mof Gidian. He wants the child bery badly. We have seen that Mof is buisy in making dark troops ( maybe force sensitive ) We may see a fight between them maybe with a jedi or not..in the planet of Tython.
And no one remembers that the Razor Crest has a tracker on board? What if grand mown (sorry, I don't know how to spell the villains name) goes to the planet where Ahsoka is and somehow he captures her to "exchange" her for the baby?
