I think she's still working for Moff Gideon, setting him up to get him in the mind flayer so she could erase his memory so that he would have no information about Moff Gideon
Also, she needed the items that would assist in cloning development. Hence, why she took it after the doctor got arrested so that she could give it to Moff Gideon. She killed two birds with one stone, so to speak. That's really what the episode was about. Otherwise, she could have taken the doctor down from the get go
@@sangaman2007 i don't think she actually took the case, yes she grabbed but she and the case went to the new republic facility so i think it's confiscated. i think whatshe does to Pershing is simply punishment for being a traitor to the empire to which she is still loyal. i think outside of Coruscant they still have the resources to get lab equipment elsewhere, but they can not allow the doctor to reveal or give the new republic what it was they were working on. and that is the two birds one stone. traitor punishment and keeping the information he could provide out of the new republics hands.
I think she's shellshocked right now for so many reason she lost her home , her friends , and now she dealing with the fact that she knows the mythasaur is real . She need time to comprehend it all. She needs to think about everything.
Great breakdown! The New Republic stuff was so dark! I think the point they were making was kind of a “the more things change, the more things stay the same” - it was exemplified by the scene with the wealthy patrons at the party that Pershing had to attend. They didn’t really know or care if they were in the Empire, Rebellion, or New Republic. It was all the same to them. Their lives hadn’t changed in any significant way. Likewise, you see how dehumanizing the amnesty program is. People are referred to by alphanumeric codes, not names, and they are given uniforms to wear instead of letting them have their own clothes and style. They are even housed together in the same campus, and they have mind-numbing jobs filled with busywork instead of letting them explore their own interests. It struck me as not much different than Syril Karn’s life on Coruscant after he loses his job with the Pre-Mor Authority in Andor. The design of the cubicles even looks very similar. What Elia did would be considered entrapment by modern day law, just like how an undercover police officer cannot offer to sell a suspect drugs and instead must wait for the suspect to bring the idea up themselves. If this is the job given to her by the New Republic, then that is very, very dark and there’s not much difference at all between the New Republic and the Empire. I think they’re going for more of an ambiguous middle ground and Elia has a secret agenda, possibly working for someone else. The story she told the New Republic was probably that Pershing had come to her with the idea and she followed along to see how far it would go. Very interesting thoughts on Bo-Katan! Definitely think she’s scheming but ultimately she will do the right thing.
I definitely thought it was strange that he got arrested at gun point & they let her pick up the case & walk away without saying a word. Now the lab equipment will find its way back to Moff Gideon.
You want Bo-Katan to be some mustache twirling villain soooo bad! Could it be that she doesn't know what she actually saw while trying to rescue someone that fell several fathoms down a deep dark murky water pit at the bottom of an old mine shaft? So you're thinking she went from not believing the Mythosaur EVER existed at all to "I'll find Mythosaur again, then tame it, and then use it to convince the all Mandalorian people to call me their ruler" during the span of an adrenaline filled afternoon. "I really sawrit with my tiny little helmet light. I'm your queen now!"
No I don't, hence the whole "I don't think she's planning anything diabolical" comments from me! What you just suggested could be the case, of course. She might just not believe it. But of course, we can also entertain some possible idea of her seeking respect from other Mandalorians by taming the "legendary" Mythosaur. It's all just fun & speculation =)
You know what? The whole episode i was waiting for the plot twist, so i was suspicious of her the whole time like i genuinely believed the scientist wanted to be good but i was like "she's going to do something to him" and she did, ah, poor guy
It feels like the Bad Batch and Mandalorian are running parallel. It's like poetry... Rhyme. Crosshair is strapped down and tortured now Dr. Perishing. Bo Katan playing the long game, 4d chess w Mando, the imperial spy played Dr. Pershing. That chump was smart but atood no chance against her charms. She's definitely been trained in the honey trap skill of espionage!
I think Bo katan is going to be Din's right hand in the end, but we're going to see the redemption of Bo katan in some way. Din is going to be the next Madalor Ruler. Bo katan will be one of his biggest generals he will have.
I think she is still loyal to Gideon and the Imperial ways... she has to know what Pershing knows, and if he would use his knowledge to benefit the New Republic... if so, he knows too much and needs to be caught, and have his mind wiped.
Did anyone notice Dr. Pershings ear touching neurological thing. What was it about. And about tie interceptors in there, and them commemting them being far more dangerous compared to regular fighters. Bombers and interceptors feel more of a elite force.
I just want them to be platonic partners, not romantic partners. I feel like it works better this way 😊 it's so rare to see a man and woman just be friends and nothing more
Loved the episode- unexpected, but very cool both arr convert who are not convinced. I hope they will meet Sabine hunting thrawn, and that bo rides the mythosaur.
I think she is legit switched allegiance to the Republic. When they were in the ship the doctor was talking about his childhood dreams and she made a comment about not being given that opportunity. I think she was forced into service of the Empire, and resents anyone who is willing to go against the Republic.
Do you think the New Republic would trust Gideon's highest ranking officer as a double agent that quick ? Also that was definitely entrapment. But seriously, I think her eating the Imperial biscuit while frying his brain shows where her allegiances are. I suspect she's gonna make him a full blown Imperial believer and go back to Gideon with him. Or at least now Pershing can't use his talents for the New Republic. About Bo-Katan, I think the actress believes she did tell Mando because she was processing what she saw. Cheers from France! 🍻
It wasn't a bad ep at all. The starting TIE Fighter dog fight felt incredibly forced and out of the blue for no reason just to have a space battle to check a box. But I felt we spent a bit too much time away from Mando to be with Dr. Pershing. Felt bad for the dude cuz he is still ultimately a good person who was caught up with some bad people in the Empire, and now he's Mind Flayed...or possibly worse after what was done to him with the cranking up the dial... he could even be dead. I never once bought they were going to be friends and that Pershing was gonna be sold out to have his mind wiped because he has too many Empire secrets. The redemption of Din was resolved so quickly, it was not even a season long arc... but now this season seems to be more about Bo Katan's redemption and her place as a Mandalorian. The meta easter egg about "It was a trap" to a Mon Calamari scientist was just a bit cringey cuz that feels like modern day MCU meta humor.
@@BobaTalks I wrote my comment before I heard your interpretation. It is possible, but... it still felt superfluous for an action moment... not unlike how i Felt about the majority of the premiere of this season... it feels like checklist of things to see now than it organically fitting the best way to tell a story.
