This is the best interview of mani sir among all RU-vid channels that I had recently watched. Highly ethical , sensible questions, and commentaries of other great movie legends were all packed raw and brilliantly .. keep up !
The most cinema literate critic in India today. Beautifully articulated and consummated. Having said that Baradwaj Rangan, also acomes across as a huge Mani Ratnam Junkie and an orgasmic fan
Thanks for this interview. Legends should be captured which will give future generation and the current directors a chance to hear from the great director. Great Interview.
I've been a Manirathnam fan from school...Roja released when I was in fourth standard....have watched all his movies so many times and I could still do a movie marathon... without second thought...
flim companion is too good.Bharatwaj is one of the most respected cinetracker.Mani sir is a true legend.Thank you FC for doing reviews and interviews down south. It is a very great decision.Pls don't stop that.
thank you film companion. thanks for bringing it raw and classic. this is how a Convo should be, thats how barad sir does. barad sir love you! keep talking and keep penning also.
Excdllent series! I hope BR does one with Shankar (like this multi-part series.) Would be a great leadup to 2.0 if we could get Shankar’s journey from Gentleman till now.
Watched and loved both part 1 and part 2. A thought invoked dissection of Mr. Ratnam's finest movies. From his signature techniques that revolutionized so many indian films to the comments by everyone involved in Ratnam's sphere, I've lapped it all up. My only request to you Mr. Baradwaj sir is to please stop with spoilers in your South Indian film reviews. i sincerely commend your interviewing skills, you didn't waste time with false praise but asked some fascinating questions about cinematography and so on, but I beg of you to change your style of reviews..I want to watch the movie and know the story not hear it all in a your review. Keep the suspense! :)
Film Companion maybe you ppl could start this new idea wer in the first half of the video say if the video length is of 6 mins the first 3 mins would address the film with more spoiler free and for the fresh audien who hasn't watched. In the other last 3 mins he could be more open abt the film, and his opinion abt the scenes in particular.Cuz sometime views and criticism from these experts are more thought provoking than the whl film in total. We cant miss out on tht. Just an idea you culd adapt.hope it helps. :)
Pleasure PLEASURE to watch! It's a shame that such wide coverage of Maniratnam's work and his interview has gotten only 41k views in more than a year! Fire your marketing team. This is an interview that not just you but even Mani Ratnam can be proud of, for this series of videos are the best content that will be made for future generations to know about this brilliant director. I've not seen Mani Ratnam this enthusiastic for any interview. He is equally involved like you. If you think I am doing mugasthuthi, let me just say your digital marketing strategy is poor! :)
🤗🤗🤗 BRanan 4 bringing our own Mani here. And 👏👏👏 for most of your conversation topics! Can't wait to hear him talk about filling Iruvar Speeches with ARR's score after censorship. ☺☺
Big fan of you Bharadwaj Sir. "In Conversation with Maniratnam" was an eyeopener for me at many levels. Such an amazing Interview this is. But then those camera movements are distracting. They are not adding any value to the show. There is no genuine motivation to the movements. I felt if all the three cameras were static it would have been a lot more better. And the focus on the Mani sir's Camera is soft, which is not expected from Film Companion. Just felt like commenting. Hope these things will be taken into consideration in the future. Pls keep up the good work and keep educating and entertain people like us.
Hey Surya, Understand your looking for an interview with Rajamouli. For now we have one done by another one of our best Anupama Chopra: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j4WVUU8C8tQ.html Hope you liked it!
Film Companion Thanks alot!!just want to make point tht you (and your fellow mate rajiv masand to an extent) don't know or maybe do know but " You ppl are doing a great job in inspiring the aspired film enthusiasts". The intresting content and knowledge your trying to bring is definitely more than wht film schools try to do. I do hope tht you shld make good money out of all this service but Pls continue doing this job for many more years irrespective to the profits. :)
Sorry. The interviewer's technique is so ordinary. keeps looking at the paper. mind goes to the next question 4 seconds before ratnam completes his answer. it's sad because this guy has worked for years with his name attached to pieces like" The Hindu"
S Bharath Narayan calm down! nothing wrong with looking at your notes time and again. he was asking sensible questions, not random questions for cheap thrills!
Srilakshmi R I'm pretty calm Mam. Never questioned the sensibility of the questions. got nothing personal against the man. but whatever I wrote stands.
ravishingravi Sir what you're saying is not in full relation to what I wrote. I don't judge for the heck of it. My observation was not based on mine or your fixation towards the interviewer. He may be the best interviewer in the world. but what I observed in this particular interview is true without bias.
