Whats a few months between friends? I obviously do NOT own any of the music or animation presented in the video GO WATCH THE SHOW!! (even tho i just spoiled all of it)
Guys, WE DON'T EVEN KNOW HIS REAL NAME. WHAT IS THIS! This Anime, and this manga is driving me insane, craving me for more! The fact that we don't even know his real name before his name was "Vanitas" is making me crazy
I never really understood vanitas's psychology as a character this video broke him down and analyzed him in such an insightful and unique way! i love vanitas even more now
This is so random but the title of the anime itself makes me ponder. “Case Study” refers to when a medical student diagnosed a patient based on a case file. A trial, if you will. Since this is “The Case Study of Vanitas” it could mean that the anime itself is a case study, or trial, for Vanitas or Vanitas is the one being studied.
Apparently one of the more common theories is that the whole show is from Noe’s perspective as he is reflecting on his time together with Vanitas. There’s a subtle hint to that towards the end of the first episode but the manga makes it more clear since theres more narration. So it’s possible that it is literally a case study from Dr Noe in the future after he may or may not have killed Vanitas himself
The french title (That is the part of the japanese original title) is "Les mémoires de Vanitas" or "Vanitas's Memoir." With Noé's powers I think it's DEFINITELY Noé reccounting everything in a book Watson style !
crazy underrated video, a well done and interesting analysis with jokes perfectly sprinkled in! case study of vanitas is one of my top manga for sure & i love seeing how other people interpret my fave media
I love this anime!!❤ I want to get the manga but dont have the space .. my theory is Vanita knows he is going to die thats why he doesnt want anyone close to him and even jokes with Jean for wanting something serious, but if she shows any hints of reciprocation of attachment he rejects it as he doesnt want to burden others. But then Noe shows him he will share his burden with him. I love the dynamic and complexity
Completely agree with you! That was actually gonna be in the script for this video but I couldn't find space for it lol yea all three of them are so complex given how similar their circumstances are yet how different each of them came out. This show definitely has some of my favorite writing in anime
Love the video, keep up the good work! Vanitas no carte and Moriarty the patriot (if you haven't watched it, its amazing) are my favorite animes in recent years!
Love your video you really know how to capture the attention of the audience and everything you say is interesting love it. But I have a question did you read pandora heart, I know it doesn't have anything to do with the video but it was made by the same mangaka and I in my opinion is as great as vanitas in term of story and character writing but it doesn't have a lot of people talking about it because it's finished and quite old so you could maybe read it and maybe just maybe give your opinion on it with a video or maybe just responding to my comment I just want to have somebody's opinion on it😢 (but of course only if you want and sorry for the subject totally not related to the vid)
Am going to be annoying here and say your saying vanitas wrong it pronounced van e tos or van ne tos I suggest to watch a dubbed episode to get it correct but even in Japanese they say it correct even with the end stretched out and am going to assume here that you searched up how to pronoun it on Google it the same with manga the ai voice cannot get it correct compared to a real voice also the word vanitas come from Latin
@@swearjarllc2785 it seem quite a few people get it wrong quite alot even big creator that I've noticed it more just because it said more than once in each episode
