It's important to also know that you don't even need to necessarily be "scammed" but people can also simply steal your music and reupload it for themselves. This happened to me and I had to threaten to take the artist and label to court in order for them to remove my song from their accounts and to remove the content ID that made my song say it was theirs.
This guy is one of the best content creators ive ever came across with. Such quality content and so much effort into these videos. Simon i appreciate you so much!
I've been producing for 10 years, and I've seen at least one of these. Honestly, I've been a freelancer for 3 years, and no matter what you do there's someone trying to snake you. I've never actually paid anything big. Just 50 bucks once through PayPal. I got a refund when they never delivered through PayPal.
the amount of times i lost hundreds of dollars to rappers or producers promsing work but then just block you after the payment is my fault. I trusted rappers who promised features but then never send it or producers that you ask for custom beat but through dms and they just never send or they send a beat you didnt ask for
imo if you're gonna pay money to learn how to better produce music, one on one lessons seem more valuable than generalized courses. Maybe you already know half of the course content going into it but the other half is new info, well, if you just find a producer doing lessons out there, you can just focus in on what you don't know and get more value for your time and money. But also, if you REALLY want to learn from a specific person and they only do courses, that could still absolutely be worth it to get a better feel for their particular workflow, philosophy, etc
The worst part about the scam I’m describing in this video is that I searched up the guys IP address after and he literally was from Nigeria. I literally got scammed by a Nigerian prince.
idk if it counts as a scam but audio companies like unison audio who promote extremely bad plugins for extreme amounts of money could steal the money of a beginner producer who doesn't know whats good or bad
@@Corporate_Desecration i prolly get an a unison ad everytime i watch a video. i even got it when i watched this one. i get they are paying but damnn, i dont wanna see another unison ad.
what about 90% of youtube producers who have no idea what their talking about yet feel the need to make tutorials, thereby spreading misinformation and bandaid fixes, misguiding new producers and creating an oversaturated industry of degrading quality? Doesn't cost money, but some people their progress or even future carrier.
Honestly, I purchased a collab with a big underground producer, sent him loops, and it actually got placed with a big rapper which was super sick and I’m incredibly grateful for. But I thought that was the sauce so I did it again and quickly realized that it is def not the best way to go about placements😭
Simons videos have always been good but man, th e last few months the content has been incredible . Love when he has these super informative and well edited videos
Thank you Mr.Simon for exposing Ditto..😂😂😂☠️☠️ They scamed me off my album i released with them and till today i nvr got my royalies which accumulated....i gained alot of streams but they didn't pay me
Years ago 2010 I was 18.. I was about to enroll in online music school for $12,000. All I needed was a laptop top. The day I was due to send the money my laptop got stolen, never happened. Fast forward a few years later the online school was a complete scam.
Hey, i was just watching your vid and the only thing i could think about exept for how amazingly good you are was your setup. Soooo i did what anyone else would do, i looked up Servica Music setup, and got a vid from 4 Years ago.. Could you do a setup tour?
Was once messaged from rca records. They promised to send money to make music for them. I could tell it was a scam but was curious what it was. They ended up sending me a 3000 check in email if I promised to send some to a charity they didn’t disclose. Searched the name and address on the check, it was a meth dealer in prison. Sent him pictures of him and his house and prison and never heard from him again.
really feel like you should have mentioned plugins that can be not worth it and cater too much to beginners without providing useful knowledge to them. think unison audio. or plugins that are not worth the money in general, ones that cost too much and are not nessessary for producers who have limited budgets and want to get as much utility as possible from a purchase
