stephen smelley the bass in each of Marcus Miller’s performances is amazing in each cover I’ve seen, but combine this with Everette Harps’ saxophone, and it’s amazing!
That guy on alto bluffed me. While he was building up his solo I was saying to myself, why can't Miller pick people to his standard. Then as he progressed in his cooking, left me wordless. This guy deserves some exposure.
im hooked where has this guy been all my life. I must live under a rock to not of heard him.. the sax is orgasmic the whole crew they are the total package. so glad I found this
Best Oldschool in Jazz Bassline, wonderful Musicians, with what dedication. No Digital is Analog,Impossible to play these days.Miss this wonderful time....Respekt Thank you...!!!!
I went to Anita Baker's concert at Budokan in 1990. The sax player was dressed in the most stylin' suit with long hair. His sound was amazing...then I memorized his name "Everette Harp" In the next summer, I was watching TV, Marcus Miller performing. so I found the sax player!! (OH! Everette HAAAAAAP!!!!! What a hunk!!!!!!!!)
Bass is more a funk style than jazz, I love it. Would be fun to see him trade licks onstage with Mark King! Somebody wrongly put Omar Hakim on drums in the title, that ain't Omar Hakim on drums.
