the interviewer seems a bit nervous, but he got some good answers out of them. these guys are quickly becoming some of my favorite musicians. also they remind me so much of John Frusciante.
yeah i dig. listen to whatever you have by them now. for me their music is quite inspiring, being a musician and lyrisicst myself. always fresh, origional, and emotional. also complex while still captivating
Even though they dismiss the idea, I think it would be fucking awesome for them to play an album in it's entirety live. Similar to the gig at the Electric Ballroom when they played De-loused all the way though (granted they were the only songs in their discography at the time Tremulant aside). Say they book a venue for three nights in a row: First night play De-loused, Second night play Frances, Third night play Amputechture and film it for a DVD. Just like Oceansize did with theFeed to Feed DVD
well...your comment got removed haha. but idk if they do drugs anymore. i don't really care. i agree with you, though, i just really love them because they're TOTALLY themselves in their music. and theyre abstractionists and slightly weird. if they were normal and totally civil in their minds they'd prolly be making awesome Pop music, by whatever your definition
as pretentious as they may seem, i totally dig the way talk about music. we need more heart and less brain these days. i've never even heard one of their records, but i saw them live once and would love to see them again. just don't like their fans so much.
@canthinkverywell Lol, I love the idea but that's totally a misquote. He said "okay we won't play that song." They aren't the Red Hot Chili Peppers. haha
bad generalization i admit, but super devoted fans don't always have the most open minds. also, at this point i don't like people getting aggro on or around me. makes me question sometimes just what they're getting off on. as far as listening to their records, i don't know why. i don't listen to much newer rock music. i like some of omar's solo stuff. and i liked seeing defacto when i lived in l.a. i'm just swamped with old records i've bought and haven't listened to yet. i mean no disrespect.
