The most important points of this story are:- 1. They sent Rama away from the corner to make a statue of a martyr. But the irony is, real Martyr of the story is Rama who was always so kind and gentle, people are worshipping the statue and ignoring the real person. Perhaps this points towards how in real life someone is worshipped only after their deaths only if he has a huge fan following. 2. The description of his food, how the chappatis were so thin, how the eggs were so soft, how the coffee was continuously boiling and spreading a gentle scent around. Compare this with how his food became stale towards the end of the story. There were other very important points in the story, I'd suggest a quick goggle search of something like "what is the significance of The Martyrs Corner" if you are preparing for ICSE board exams.
