Never seen this cartoon, but I'm here after reading Rob Paulsen's autobiography. He talks about how proud he is of this theme, and I don't blame him. He has an *AMAZING* voice.
Zero Dracoro is speakin facts. I never grew up watching this show either, but after hearing about it I watched it, and ended up binge watching all 3 seasons. Really great show, it's a crime they haven't rebooted it (ESPECIALLY NOW in the 2020s the decade of reboots).....such a missed opportunity. They are practically throwing money away, plenty of late 80s early 90s babies would love a rebooted version of this show
@@Jungoguy HELL YEA!!! Great idea!!! And I dare you to tell me that a rebooted version of The Mask wouldn't be an INSTANT box office success.....(and a breath of fresh air compared to the 💩tty movies we have been getting this past decade. As I said earlier, they are practically throwing money away by not bringing The Mask back, and i HOPE someone with influence at the production studio gets around to reading my comment (I doubt they will though) But in case someone is Just bring The Mask back, and DO NOT pollute the franchise with SJW/Feminism...otherwise it will be a guaranteed financial disaster
Fun fact, Rob Paulsen did such a good job impersonating Jim Carrey in this cartoon that they actually frequently call him in to dub over Jim Carrey on network and airline versions of his movies.
I feel like Rob Paulsen's Mask and Jim Carrey's Mask are equally good, (no exaggeration) But to me, they sound completely different.......maybe that's just me tho
I love how The Mask describes himself in the lyrics such as he is a charming man who is wacky, but a heroic and nice man as he fights his enemies or criminals, and the best part is that he knows that he is a madman as he says it in his catchphrase, but prefers to party and goof off instead showing him to be harmless as well.

If somebody puts it on, it will stick your face, and never let go, and you will become.....*THE MASK!! * but....if you take it off, it will turn back to brown!!!
Yeah, and he used it for years too up until Nerdist started producing the show. I've gone through a lot of old episodes this year since Spotify is the place they're most easily accessible. Although the James Arnold Taylor episode from back when the interviews were live shows at the Improv or John Lovitz theater is the only one missing.
Honestly Truth be told I prefer Rob Paulsen's mask over Jim Carrey's both are great but Rob is such a legend among VA's and he provides just enough of his own unique flair to make the character his own.
I personally think there should've been one episode where Stanley goes one day without putting on the Mask by simply doing his usual work at the bank on his work schedule and spending time at home afterwards along with running errands while whatever crime in the city is going on, which would prove to Kellaway that the Mask wasn't even out on the town all day, but the cynical and selfish cop STILL won't believe it when the proof of there being no sign of the Mask anywhere all day.
Kellaway is a policeman by the book. In his eyes Mask is a vigilanty and therefore a criminal. While Mask saves the city from villains, crminals and supernatural powers, He leaves some mess in his way. Kellaway is a comptenet cop, but is outmatched by supervillains.
I also personally think there should’ve been more episodes where the other mask personas appear in, along with a few more that has Stanley and The Mask existing at the same time, as it would have given Stanley an alibi as The Mask lives in his apartment, but separately from him so Kellaway doesn’t go after him for now, but has to deal with The Mask making a mess in the apartment, but The Mask promises to clean it up every morning and evening, which he does, so that way we can have more of the straight man and wise guy dynamic from them.

Rob Paulson is amazing! I have great respect and admiration for his talent. I remember watching this series in my school years....always looked to every episode.
It didn't exactly make them fearless. Rather, it turned them into a psychopathic, self-aware cartoon character with reality-bending powers. Essentially, you become more insane and dangerous than Deadpool with all Infinity Stones.
@@melicialewis2481 eyo chill, it’s actually a good thing they thought it was him, that’s just how good of an impression Rob Paulsen does, not only that, don’t be rude to people. They didn’t know
I'm a lean, mean, green machine A maniac behind the ballyhoo Got a hyperactive mayhem gene And that's my gig, babe It's what I do! And I come spinnin' into town Got everyone seein' red. By the time I'm done They'll be seein' green instead! Smokin’! The city's actin' kinda edgy Trust me to make things right. HOP! Hear the news? Another drive-by wedgie. Freaky monsters lookin' for a fight. STOP! Time for a costume change Then take 'em for a spin 4, 3, 2, 1, go! Let the games begin! (scatting; spoken): Somebody stop me! Listen! I'm not any ordinary superhero. Not your everyday spandex-wearin' zero. Did someone say, "It's party time!"? Do you even have to ask? Anytime, ready or not, look out! I am The Mask!
I remembered The Mask: Animated Series from the 90's and it's great that first season is on DVD. But I still wished the rest of the season 2 and season 3 were released as well or perhap have all three seasons together as a complete DVD collection instead.
No wonder i couldn't find the Finnish version anywhere, it was so good, literally scoured the internet for hours only to find this comment and be disappointed :/ Well, good thing i still have one VHS casette with Finnish dub.
My highschool friend was obsessed with The Mask and Jim Carrey. Sure now thinking back she related to the character, re her hyperactive out there tendencies 😊✨
Lol, I just realized that the reason the mask can change into whatever he wants is because that is LOKI'S power, he is a shapeshifter so the mask is a shapeshifter.
@Sansar Shrestha The Mask is invincible with toon powers and could blow up the planet or even the galaxy if he wants...I doubt gear 5 Luffy is already at this level 😅
I highly prefer this version of the animated series from the first season. I'll never understand why they changed it for Seasons 2-3, which wasn't the same.
I find it brilliant as well, as it takes ideas from the comics, such as having people wear the Mask other than Stanley and Walter, along with giving some episodes for The Mask to appear in entirely to show how unique he really is, as he is wacky, crazy, wild and chaotic, but is harmless and a lot more orderly than he appears to be, as he always leaves the apartment nice and clean, along with being a well-mannered gentleman as well who also cares about Stanley, his dog Milo, his friends and the people in Edge City as well, as he saves them from the criminals and the supervillains from time to time.
Yeah i know, like the 3rd mask movie focuses on Stanley who is now retired and a old man who is now married to Evelyn who is from the cartoon, and they have children, along with that they find ways to separate themselves from their alter-egos The Mask and Eve who are also married and had children as well, which both The Mask and Eve remain the same as being young and everything, but the Mask is now the mayor of Edge City, which he does a good job of doing it, with Eve having a job as a bank manager and both of them are owners of the Coco Bongo, but have to deal with the crime wave in the city and still having fun at the same time, also with Stanley meeting Tina again after all the years of not seeing each other, and talk about on how they have been doing, and of course Stanley and Evelyn being next door neighbours to the Mask and Eve which causes a lot of trouble as the Mask and Eve parties a lot half of the time even at night, while Stanley and Evelyn have to deal with a lot of noises from their partying, which would be very funny to watch as well. Also The Mask and Eve have a large extended family as they have 87 sons and 98 daughters, which most of them are twins, triplets and quadruplets, and their children end up having spouses and their grandchildren end up having powers as well like their children, which causes a lot of problems and trouble both inside and outside their home, as the Mask and Eve have to deal with their grandchildren's and to a lesser extent their children's chaotic nature and their troublemaking antics on anyone who annoys them even if it's by accident, and pulling pranks on the neighbours and their families and their friends as well whenever they feel like it, to the point that the Mask and Eve have to play the role of being the sane members in their family, with Stanley and Evelyn having a small family of two sons and one daughter and having a great time bonding and playing with their grandchildren and having a easy time dealing with grandchildren's troublemaking habits.
As someone who has watched the entirety of it’s series, it’s actually really good as far as cartoon adaptations go; not amazing but still a fun time to be had. Like a discount freakazoid.
