Ben johns using the “twoey” two handed backhand is great to see. His only weakness that I saw is a lack of a two handed drive. Fixed. Looks like he wants to stay on top for a while more
Ok, this is MUCH more compelling than the recent exhibition with Agassi, Mcenroe, Chang, and Roddick. That exhibition made minitennis and pushing seem like the dominant strategies in pickleball, in which case it is very hard to take the sport seriously. (Or maybe those strategies are dominant in doubles?) But minus the serve, this actually looks like old-school serve and volley/chip and charge. This is what tennis actually kind of looked like ‘back in the day.’ Kind of.
This looks like a hell of a game to play!! Looks really fun but I'm just not feeling it in terms of watching people play it lol I love watching the nfl mlb and what not but I'm just not feeling it with this sport
am new to pickleball but have played tennis since i was a kid. Can someone tell me why one would opt to use a two-handed back hand in this game? The racket/paddle seems to be more similar to a table tennis/ping pong paddle with a shorter handle for a two-handed back hand to be useful. Plus, aren't these paddles/rackets pretty light? My guess is that this guy used to play tennis and just felt more comfortable translating his tennis backhand to pickleball
if someone hits a double bounce dropshot / dink, are they unable to reach it in the kitchen? i can do it but idk if it's legal so have not practiced making it consistent
You can't hit a double bounce. The ball is dead. You can't volley in the kitchen but you can step in and hit a ball that bounces. Get out quickly though or the next shot is coming back at you forcing you to volley in the kitchen and losing the point.
Idk if you know, but that’s part of the game in pickleball. Otherwise, the opponents constantly would get an advantage by simply doing light drop shots into the kitchen. Now, that would be boring for a game!!
@@chosenprimeproductions1755 These are the tennis rejects. As a former tennis player who plays pickleball I can confirm. Really fun to play and easier to find people to play with.
This seems like it’s made for people who can’t run for long periods like in tennis, like tier 5 tennis being played by the local plumber lol guaranteed you bring any pro athlete to pickle ball and they could compete in T1
Commentator: I generally like your announcing style but please stop it with the baby talk, ie "twosie." You don't find cutsie names for shots in any other sport like professional tennis. Pickleball needs to mature and grow as a professional sport in all areas if it wants to be seen as equal with other professional sports.
Its a dumb name I agree but chill out bruh, the word "twosie" or any other dumb name won't do harm to the sport. Nothing can at this point its just too fun
Dude you broke the Cardinal rule of pickleball. People who play this sport are so God damn sensitive you can never say anything negative about the sport. Ever. Not even once.
