Captions done, link to the table in the vid in description. Yanno it'd be real funny if Baus watched this on stream. jk jk... unless? EDIT: Guys he just reacted to it on stream. Was not expecting that.
My favorite thing I've ever heard about baus was from riot august where he said on stream "baus gameplay is so different that our auto ban systems detect him feeding every game but we go watch the replay and he's obviously playing to win while destroying his opponent"
You can tell he plays the win. If was straight up inting hed be running it down or picking fights he knows he cant win and ignore plates and minions. The way he plays looks goofy as fuck dont get me wrong but it works for him.
@@josephdevita2938 If only there is a cumulative gold display in client. All he need to do is show his GOLD per min instead of cs. (which he usually keep at 10/min). Holy..... consistent 4 item 20min when the rest of his team with majority of kills are 2.5 items is just insane.
almost as if the playstyle is shit and horribly unhealthy for the game, but riot promotes it because haha streamer guy say solo bolo big funny please play our game
Because it’s most toxic strat ever, the way he plays (it’s even said in video) making him sometimes unbelievably strong but also makes his enemy toplaner huge, when he plays against hyper carries it feels like inting
You handshake with your laner, that way you both get to have fun and be raidbosses at the expense of every other player every game. Honestly, I don't see why anyone would wanna do otherwise.
in season 2 and 3, we had Trick2G's udyr ''my ways''. This dude was the first to make me understand the game as a ressource aquisition race rather than a fighting game. Trick used to run around the map and collect everything in sight, including lane minions and towers with an unstoppable udyr build. Trick was all about ''breaching'' the enemies line of defense and disregarded most fights and champion kills. Riot nerfed this strat over the years. Baus reminds me of that period with his counter-intuitive understading of the game's ressources and win conditions.
honestly boggles my mind that there are still so many people in this game who have played for YEARS and still dont understand anything about the game beyond "KILL=GOOD, DEATH=BAD"
Bausen's law reminds me a lot of dunkey's opinion of league before they banned him, when he played sion he realized that you were a much better champion dead and aggressive than alive and passive. When he climbed, he mained toplane splitpushing champions utilizing their insane resists, early/mid advantages, and tp/respawn/second tower manipulation (mainly the old yorick). He criticized the bounty system for giving a massive advantage to teams who could collapse on high priority targets and gain comparably better value for the gold than had been lost by the ally lane. Baus was aided by the heartsteel/hydra meta/additions and riot really gave him a boost with holebreaker.
Baus made me realize the true "game" of league of legends isn't really fighting, at least it isn't anymore. It's a game of collecting resources. Kills and deaths only matter if they immediately win/lose the game or enable more resource collection.
One thing to note is that before a certain point recently cs wasn't even counted when calculating for bounties, so the Bausens law was much more effective in the early days because theBaus could be 100+ cs ahead his opponent and still have no bounty and at any time collect the inflated bounty on his opponent. Putting him even more ahead. I don't remember exactly when the bounty system was updated but when it happened Baus said that the Bausens law, although still effective, its heavilly nerfed
This strat has a solid theory behind but Sion is pretty much the only champ that can realistically pull it off. Rammus, Garen and Gragas are good contenders because of their proxyfarm capabilities. The strat relies a lot on enemies not knowing how to stop it and in a great decision making by yourself, so like you said, you really need to understand a lot of fundametals things about macro game and gold management (bad strat for low elo). This strat excells at not letting lane bullys to fulfill their role completely since you are at worst equalizing the ground between him (if played the strat correctly obv). For exaple against Renekton, champion like Sion, Gragas and Garen have a rough time against him but by doing this strat you are kind of bypassing the weaknesses of laning phase. The exact opposite occurs if the bausen strat faces a scaling champ. The scaling champ (Fiora, Smolder, Vayne, Kayle, Yone) is more than happy to get a free farm lane since they can outscale Sion if they are in equal terms.
but the thing is, he plays scaling champions aswell, so even if the enemy has a free farm lane, Baus usually manages to hoard more gold than his laner and thus he can scale at the same speed or even faster. I think a bigger issue is laning against champions who can get a early lead and roam and make use of it to snowball even more of Baus "feeding"
@@Tiagocf2 no roaming champion can roam if you proxy like that. That's the goal of the strat. And no, Sion doesnt outscale champions like Fiora, Kayle or Vayne
Clean well-made video. Plus nice honest, straightforward style without embellishing details. Nicely done! All I have to add is that eclipse is commonly built with Bami’s cinder, as the burn counts towards the eclipse shield proc. Making it so you can attack an enemy once to get eclipse shield(consistent fast proc).
I was wondering why you sounded familiar and only just realised after coming back to this video that I also watched your dive into Camille Q mechanics. Great content, you can really tell you put a LOT of effort into your research. The quality of the vid is great too, and I really like the music and overall vibe. Content is detailed yet still succinct - you're also really good at breaking down something complex & making it easy enough for everyone to understand. Subscribed - Can't wait to see what you put out next.. and see the channel grow! I really think you could go quite far tbh.
Your deep dive into the numbers is amazing. Don't stress out too much about update schedules. I'm pretty sure the sheer quality of the video itself will carry your channel. Just don't burn yourself out!
Lovely choices in music! Pheonix Wright especially makes for good intro/outro music. Nice video as well, and good visuals explaining the bounty system!
I have never seen Bausen outside of some meme clips people post. I finally watched a single Sion game of his, I never knew how much 2 people in straight up different ends of the elo spectrum could be on the same wavelength
This is how despite playing with lots of people who are way better than me, I still hold my own. It is insane how valuable farm and towers are. If you are losing lane, look for value in other areas than kills. You may find yourself doing a lot better if you learn how to farm and split constantly and let your team win fights.
Amazing content! Just the right length video, vids like these very often stretch out too much when they really dont have much to say, but your script felt concise and informative, keep it up!! B)
This video did a phenomenal job at giving a deep explanation of how the bounty system works. TheBausffs aside, for an educational video in-depth about the systems behind league, this is amazing.
One thing I’ve learned recently is that this also applies to Kayn, if you go kayn top, in most lanes Kayn doesn’t win early, but by using his passive the right way you can build up form quickly and then beat the enemy once you have items, which you’ll get by proxying/fighting with first strike. There’s a whole video on it although I can’t fully remember it was a Kayn top guide
haven't played lol in nearly a decade (since shaco could gank lvl 3 with blue and red before the first wave reached the river) , the title called my attention without knowing what Bausen was (thought it was a physicist or something) , congratulations on an amazing video!
One thing that always struck me is the fact that the fed toplaner has technically a disadvantage against bauss bc of the baussens law. But the rest of bauss team can still suffer from a fed toplaner. On a solo lane bauss is clearly winning and creating pressure. But on the other lanes the game is pushed faster into the lategame stage bc of tops item and level advantage, which could pose a threat to bauss teammates who may be behind bc they play safe and lvl up slower. Its certainly interesting to think about, how the game dynamic works
I havent played on the computer since rift came out but i watch Bauss. But hollllllly molllly seeing the numbers behind this strategy...... Keeping in mind plates use to be worth more gold... He literally is smartest guy playing this game to figure this out. Its like hearing about one person in the entire country got a particular test score right and everyone else just assumed there was no right answer. Also amazing video and presentation. Liked, commented and subbed. Best of luck with your content journey. ❤
Yeah and there is a pro player in Starcraft 2 RTS game that notoriously known as "human body, machine mind" who beat other human by producing lots of unit while simultaneously micro said units (can be more than 100 units at a time). Yeah
hope to see more videos from you in the future ! I have been trying to get more technical in league lately and I honestly never fully registered how the bounty system worked besides knowing dying lowers and kills raise. This video was extremely informative on that front and also introduced just how important knowing the bounty system can be for unique strategies like Bausen's. Thank you :]
I main supports. And this is literally the thing I don't get about 99% of players: When we are losing or I int the lane, teammates always start playing like sitting ducks. Always waiting, sitting under turrets and doing nothing. I get flamed when I even consider leaving the lane that is lost and I decide to help other lanes that can win. If I don't, the result is losing botlane, useless ADC, no prio on objectives, other lanes are coinflip. When I do, I can help other laners, get them fed, put pressure on the map, ward important places and relieve pressure from my ADC, because enemy support is usually bound to respond. I pray for the day when players understand this. And it's not only low-elo thing. I peaked Emerald 2 (Diamond 3 MMR) last season and even there everyone plays like an AFK bot. When you leave the lane to roam, your ADC starts pushing for some reason and dies 3 times before you come back. The game is not only about champ mechanics, like most think, but also about understanding capabilities of the enemy champion and of the game you are playing... Have a nice day.
Please correct me if this is wrong, but the table you have in the video and linked in the description would only apply specifically if you feed x amount of kills and then get 1 kill or 2 sequential kills? Unsure how that math changes when those events dont happen in that sequence, my gut says it is a lot harder to pull back from the deficit. Additionally, and again feel free to disagree, I don't feel like it is super fair to count soul furnace towards gold generated. As an example of what I am trying to get across, Kassadin is a champion that historically scales incredibly well with exp/gold without something measureable like health gained per cs. Thats intrisically part of his kit and why he scales so well, but not something you can measure and compare equally to cs or plates or kill gold. Its certainly fair and correct to say that Sion scales well or that Kassadin scales well, but I don't think you can compare them to cs/turrets/kills/gold directly. All in all though, I love this video and I think its incredibly well constructed. Looking forward to seeing more things in the future :)
The table is limited that way, yes. Making one for every possible outcome after laning phase would be so time consuming as to not be worth it. This is just several cases that demonstrate how easy it is to get a lead even from a "losing" lane. Kassadin's kit scales well, yes, but this is a virtue of how it is designed, which is very different from Sion. Kassadin ult has high damage after a few casts, but this is predicated on your mana not burning up before getting there. He needs AP and mana to be able to use his ult frequently, as well as levels to reduce the cooldown. The value Kassadin gains from levels and gold isn't as easily measurable. Sion just gains free value from Soul Furnace. This translates into a stat that is directly measurable for gold value. It's useful to him no matter the build, since health is universally useful. It also strengthens his W shield and Passive (longer duration). Since I can measure it I showed it on the table, but I cannot show an equivalent scaling with levels and gold for every other champion. That has to be determined on a case by case basis.
I dont think baus should ever be banned for inting if he's winning games, but Riot really needs to rethink the bounty system if you can die for a wave 10 times and end up ahead. This is a clown strategy that shouldn't exist. It sucks for the enemy team cause u get proxyd by a cannon minion all game, and it sucks for your team cause they have to deal with a 10/0 bruiser because of you. The fact that Sion gets 4 HP (this used to be 2) per minion killed is also a joke in of itself. Even full lethality Sion still has a tank's health bar because of this shit.
I’ve experimented with this on kayn top. You can proxy lv 1 which is objectively good since u either auto win mid or top lane if they roam for fuck up the jg path if they stop you. Farm and trade till rhaast then auto win most lanes with crazy gold lead.
i only once meet a Sion player using Bausen's Law. dude was dying over and over again yet he somehow got to our inhibitor. luckly we managed to stabilize the situation cus i on jungle and our ADC got pretty feed and we had enought item advantage ADC MID and SUp could keep the enmy team at base so i could rotate to help TOP.
I don't think he does? hes reached challenger repeatedly, I doubt anyone of his standing would care about the opinions of the majority (or could care, realistically how are you supposed to climb in high elo if the opinions of silvers affected your mental)
"and a wealth of macro knowledge that most players simply dont have" true true, in emerald-dia elo sometimes simply as knowing when to shove and freeze lane is non exist or how to punish enemy lane/jg camp
It’s basically making every game a top lane diff, if he wins using strat he will be powerful enough to shut down the enemy team, but if he loses then the their top has the powerful enough to shut down their team.
Hey! I would really love to learn about proxy farming! As in „when and why“ proxy farming is a good idea. I find it confusing since people do it either when they are really ahead or when they have no chance at fighting
Honestly we need a mode of League where no one can leave the lane the start in besides to shop or on death until the first inhib tower is gone. Then baus can play his way without hurting innocent children.
The problem with baus isnt that his strategy is brittle. Its that some games he legit just ints for content and he copes with it by saying its bausens law. When he played off strea. He pushed very high into challenger, so theres not really a reason he should be coin flipping in lowmasta
Most people forget that the point of league isn't to kill your opponent, but to destroy the nexus. Even if platings weren't as strong as they are, the fact that Baus destroyes 2 towers by 14 minutes on average while almost never losing his own, is an insane advantage, wich it is very difficult to come back from for the enemy team.
Riot has nerfed AD Sion directly, nerfed Hullbreaker, nerfed tower plate gold, removed the prowlers claw active, nerfed the shutdown system and probably more. It's actually crazy how much Riot has done to nerf his playstyle.
And they did it right. He is abusing mechanics as they shouldn't be used. Its like abusing bug to make profit from hobos in get rich simulator. This shouldn't work like that.
You'd have to be a complete baus hater to not see how much of an impact he's had on the game. RIOT has literally done 4 massive patches at this point that DIRECTLY nerf whatever he's doing at the time. Along with tons of smaller champion/item patches that have nerfed his play style. The biggest changes were after he got challenger in Korea. He got direct champion nerfs literally 2 weeks later lmao.
There was a meta that i really liked back then. Ap tryndamere with e max first. You could literally oneshot a whole wave and still escape with your low cooldown. No one could catch you while you collected all the minions and presured the lane. Since trydamere had high base stats and bonus ad from his passive it was really easy to melt towers too. They just nerfed ap ratio of the e skill and destroyed ap tryn meta in a single patch.
Thats unbelievable, your table shows that if Sion dies 9 times in a row and then he kills the enemy ( lets say Darius ) once and gets 18 CS ( accounting for his passive ) ahead of him. Both Sion and Darius will have equal amount of gold. Didnt know that.
Ok, thats assuming he doesnt straight up for nothing like he did the last couple of months. Especially on Champs other than Sion. He even proxies on gragas now instead of just winning lane the "normal" way like he used to on gragas.
So is Baussen's law the value of playing around the bounty system? That plates are worth a kill? The idea of ignoring the laner and farming as much as possible? All of it together?
This video was soooo fucking "In depth" I delt like I was watching one of the bigger LoL channels I simply didn't discover yet.. Then I look at the comments and I can't believe it. Road to 1k man.. Road to 1k!🥳🥳🥳
I would love if you could make a video on a similar odd strategy for other lanes. Top is the one lane I don't touch 😅, but super helpful knowledge nonetheless
