@@denizilhan5265 They can definitely improve a lot more! More realistic particle systems, explosions, full on photo-real reflections, higher fidelity textures (or having micro-detail in the 3d mesh itself), better animation, etc... There's still a lot to be done before we achieve the photo-realistic look currently seen in movies :)
I'm so glad the matrix is making a comeback. The green tint, the music, the general aesthetic hasn't changed at all. The ps2 games and the trilogy were my childhood
@@GameIsMyOxygen plastic character models, terrible explosions, undersaturated city, subpar reflections/lighting. To say that these are the best graphics in the last decade is a joke.
@@Aldronex can't see it. Explosions are great. Models don't look that bad(need work tho). And the dull greenish look is intentional. Plus I've not seen such good graphics since a long time. Most new games look hyper saturated and bop to feel any realistic. Either you are blind or rest of us are. And doesn't it seem quite arrogant to say the latter? Tell me some of the games you find realistic according to your dictionary of realistic games.
@@Wakish0069 This. I mean is this a driving simulator with a Matrix skin? The explosions and guns are cool, but why? I feel like game designers are just trying to go bigger and better without actually designing anything?
The least they could do is put Path of neo as a full game on the ps2 on ps4 nd ps5 store for us fans like they did with other games and like the had the OG GTA trilogy it would make money and please fans but they don't listen G smh
@@Marrhundo definitely agree man hopefully they will especially since there’s a rumor Sony making there own game pass for us and it’ll have PS1-PS5 games also we can only hope
This is the first time since Crysis that I've actually see something new, that is miles ahead of anything else. Graphics haven't really improved that much as we all thought it would after Crysis. Excited to see what comes now !
That is basically cause good graphics don't comes "bundled" with the engine. The engine is merely a tool, but is up to the "artisan" to create the "sculpture".
@@pinkpanther6443 I mean these graphics even today are limited by the hardware in current gen consoles. We’ll see better graphics in the coming 5 years for sure, better lighting would make this look a lot better.
What are these graphics holy shit. Some still images look literally like real life. I genuinely never thought I would live to see graphics in a video game like this in my lifetime. I am so damn hyped.
@@Mrjoboo1 Actually from 2022 you will be able to experience this quality, the demo was made since August of this year so it is not well optimized. But in 2022 there are games with this technology which are Hellblade 2, a plage tale 2, arc raiders, stars wars eclipse.
I'm running this on a series s and looks mind boggling, just incredible, next level, flying about in drone mode makes Microsoft flight sim look like doom 1993
Truly mind blowing! i never thought i would live in a time when movie quality and game quality are the same! i never thought a live render would ever handle such advancements
I had a dream, where I was in a reality, but I didn't know it wasn't real, and then I took off the head set and was floored just how real everything was and that I was in a game. Really shouldn't be surprised should I? Looking forward to the next few decades of gaming.
@@romella_karmey rage has euphoria in it all these new games with incredible graphics coming out but they have wack animations and physics(every ubisoft game”
I know this is basically a tech demo for UE5, but I hope they develop it into a full game. Of course my main question is: where exactly does this fit in the Matrix canon!?
These graphics are great. Phenomenal even. But to make a game truly "next gen", developers need to also focus on animation detail and environmental detail. NPCs still feel like NPCs to me. I want them to feel less robotic and preprogrammed and more like living breathing people/creatures. Thats just my take though
That super trippy matrix game for the PS2 is low key one of my fav games if all time. Never understood the hate. Hope we’ll get another matrix game soon.
the engine is good no doubt. But after playing it on the ps5, imo the ps5 and xbox is limiting how good it can be in this demo. It would be much more realistic played on a high end gpu. For starters, the lack of a solid 60fps is really killing the "realism".
@@michaelblue4619 Life isnt at 60fps either, nor 120... I think the 30fps (I know is a hardware limitation) contribuite to make it feel like the movie (witch runs at 24fps)
"What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain." - Morpheus
The only things that these things can never replicate in a realistic way, are the facial expressions. I think the most real expressions i've ever seen in a game were from L.A noire
Imo facial expressions are doable, the last of us, hellblade etc... But I'm still waiting for a good AI in a game, people with their own unique habits, their own way of walking, talking and depths, NPC are still NPC. I want a game where I would wonder if a character is an actual player or a NPC. Graphics were fine a long time ago imo while AI got stucked in 2010. Don't get me wrong this demo looks visually amazing, I've never seen something so good but it still wouldn't hype me for a game if the AI would be equivalent to the AI of an assassin's creed.
@@Skullheadification For sure man, definitely the way to get more immersive AI is to have thousands of unique-interaction points where NPCs interact with each other and you, with loads of variation so it doesn't become repetitive. Just being able to capture daily, really mundane behaviour, y'know? Like 2 npc strangers walk through a door at the same time and the one in front holds it open for him. Really mundane shit but that's the key to AI immersion imo. RDR2 doesn't have perfect AI, but it's one of the best I've seen done.
When your walking around in the demo one of the plaques says that the engine populates the city with approx 35000 npcs at a given time. That's what it says at least, don't shoot the messanger haha.
Watching this gameplay, I get the same feeling I got from watching the first screenshots of GTA IV. It looked very realistic for the time, and I get the same kind of excitement now.
What’s interesting with Neo in the opening scenes, he looks almost the same as his CGI renditions in the Matrix Reloaded during the fight + flight scenes, yet way better at the same time. What a time to be alive, I feel like this tech demo alone has reminded me what I got a PS5 for.
Question would you know why my TV info shows 120 jumping back and forth to 60 ? ... xbox series x on Samsung 120 2.1 ... all my other games stay in 120... Do you think maybe cause its a demo?
