In October he passed of cancer in a hospital room at UT Southwestern (the same hospital lively’s mom passed in) Him and I’s first real bonding was during the 2022 playoffs and we watched a lot of the Mavs together. Him and I were so confident making that bet. This team winning would mean so much to me. Sorry to get deep y’all 😂

I was frustrated with Dwight Powell the last 3 years however I honestly think he deserves more credit for what he did today. Gafford was in foul trouble and Powell hadn’t played any meaningful playoff minutes in two years and held it down for 4 minutes. No he wasn’t great he missed an open floater and made some defensive mistakes but he still played hard and gave it everything he had. At the end of the day he played better than most third option centers would in his situation and I think that needs to be praised!

As a TWolves fan I give all praise to Luka and the Mavs, its their time and they deserve it 🐺💙

Powell was Doncic's starting center in the previous WCF run, Dinwiddie was the Mavs' 3rd player and Brunson avg 18ppg in the WCF. That should tell a lot about Luka's greatness, that team had no business winning against the #1 seed when they were down 3-2 and reaching the WCF. Same way the Mavs took the 2020 Clippers to 6 games when KP got injured early in the series and then in 2021 when KP avg 13ppg and Brunson avg 8ppg, taking the Clippers to 7 games. Luka pushes the floor and the ceiling high and somehow some people say he doesn't impact winning because of advanced stats bla bla bla... This is truly a surreal moment for me, ive never seen so many people in any fashion support my favorite team like this, it almost feels like it was meant to be, that the stars aligned perfectly. Its too early to say anything tho but it will be the best day of my life if the mavs beat (most likely) Boston a city that had would have a target on me if i ever expressed publicly my love for the mavs as i do live in Boston. Another thing to note is that my dad is a Celtics fan. Last time the Celtics have won was in 08 if my memory serves me. I don't know if he was a fan of basketball at the time but if he was then he would potentially see his team win an nba finals for the first time in 16 years however he knows i am a Mavericks fan and if we do get the mavs celts matchup idk who he would choose to support because he cherishes his sons more than anything in this world so idk if he'd side with the Mavs, back in 2011 he did support the Mavericks when they were up against the heat so there is a chance but there is also a chance i would essentially be going against my father. This situation almost happened in 2022 but we lost the series against the warriors (R.I.P Dynasty). Anyways i wish the bestest of luck for the mavs and i hope Lively makes a swift recovery.

I'm a Clippers fan and when I saw we got matched up with the Mavs again for the third time in the first round after Luka's 70 point message to the rest of the league, I knew we had no chance especially with Kawhi being injured (again). It's one of those moments of ascension type deals. Both the Cs and the Mavs have earned this.

The Western conference was very good this year, almost all the series were bangers, nuggets vs lakers, clippers vs mavs, suns vs wolves, wolves vs nuggets, mavs vs thunder and the finals is also being a banger. My Hot Take- Luka is the Lebron to Kyrie. What I mean by that is literally in terms of vision, playmaking, production offensively, etc Luka is everything to Kyrie that Lebron was in Cleveland. Only differences is Luka can shoot better than Lebron could in Cleveland, and Kyrie is now the Vet of the pair while Luka is still only 25-26. Looking at it like that, I am not surprised at all that they are turning up like they are. (Plus I think Ant is worn out after the first 2 Series)

Honestly I feel like the twolves got lucky with how close the game was, derek lively’s absence was felt until that last stretch like with 3 minutes left in the game. He has without a doubt been the Mavs 3rd best player in this series. The Mavs have really shown their depth in this play off run. PJ was big in the okc series and honestly the entire team took turns contributing against the clippers.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the people are saying the Celtics are having the easiest path to the finals because of injuries, even though they haven't played with Porzingis in almost a month... But people don't care because we are winning.... Also as a Celtics fan I am so prepared for Luka if we both get the finals to hit at least 1-2 game winners on us because I feel like he does it more to us than any other team besides the clippers.
