I saw this show at the Rochester Jazz Fest and they rocked the place! Not one person was sitting. They not only welcomed the crowds participation, they encouraged it. As a long time Mavericks and Raul Malo fan, the show was one of the best venues I have ever been at.
That Rambling Rose woke me up out of a sound sleep, made me cry and is so beautiful I will love it the rest of my days!!!! I haven't heard that since I was a little girl!
Saw them for the first time ever at the Fillmore in Philly 6/23/16. Best seats in the house up on the second level near the stage. Did not sit down the entire night, was up singing and dancing the entire time. Raul has a beautiful voice and can sing anything! I'm hooked and looking forward to the next time they are in the tri-state area.
Saw them live up here in Canada (Hamilton Ontario) in April of 2015. They were awesome!!! Each musician brought their own energy to the show. Would recommend to anyone to see them live. Once Raul told the crowd they could dance there wasn't anyone sitting. Thanks for posting much appreciated. Merry Christmas to You and your family.

Love Raul Malo’s superb vocals. And Eddie Perez is a dynamite guitarist, great harmony vocalist…and a fabulous, sexy mover around the stage, especially with his gorgeous long, swinging hair!

This is awesome! Thank you, VideosMark! I have heard of a few "meltdowns" by Raul in the past. Apparently there are still venues that don't encourage dancing. Absurd if you ask me. If you book The Mavericks at your venue, you better expect it. It's a given! I guess when security has come out to tell people to get back to their seats, Raul lets them have it! And rightfully so! God forbid we let our hair down and have a little fun, huh? Love The Mavericks!

+gordon buzzell Hi Gordon, I contact the bands and get permission. If there are problems with a performance I don't post it. The bands I've spoken with are happy to have their good shows posted because people that don't know of them become exposed to them.

VideosMarkG Understood - thanks for posting this BTW. This was my first Strawberry and it was one of the best weekends I'd spent in years! I still haven't gotten through the whole video but damn... The Maverick's blew the roof off the place!!
Tim Pacheco The quick version is that when The Mavericks took the stage, Raul urged people to get up front and dance - which they did, because you can't sit still when The Mavericks are playing. The background bit is that people had gone out as early as 5:30 that morning to place their chairs during the "Strawberry Stroll" so those people dancing around were now blocking people who had their places set for the whole day. So after a couple of songs, the security folks began urging people to move back to the sides to get out of the way of the people who were front and center. Raul took that as basically having the gig taken away from him and he slammed his guitar into his amp and left the stage. He eventually came back and if you watch this video, The Mavericks killed! It was a very odd moment at the beginning, though.
Rick Hindman Thanks for explaining. I saw the Mavericks about a year ago at a club called The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. Everything seemed to be going OK when, I am guessing, there was some kind of sound issue with a monitor or something and one of their sound guys ran up on stage and adjusted something and got off. Raul got pissed off, had two maracas in his hands and he threw them, almost hitting the brass guys. The guys in the band just kind of shrugged and looked sheepish. They still rocked, but it set a weird mood for the evening. They are playing two free shows at our local county fair here in San Luis Obispo County at the end of July, can't wait to see them.
Well...Eddie has clearly come out of his shell from the old days when we shared a bill at the Alligator Lounge in Santa Monica and he was the shy kid playing in his sister's rockabilly band. Come out of his shell to the point of being borderline cheesy...
OMG -- The guitar sound is so broken....come on Eddie -- get for reals. You Telecaster is the "REAL Mavericks Sound". Dude -- even great bands can't fool the masses....at least NOT this one. Take any of your old movies and listen to the differences. You have created a "NON-Musical" situation. Anyone who can't tell this difference is eitehr drunk or have no musical clue! I understand this movie was created when you were much younger -- and me too. But, even years later I must change the future from back then to a Telecaster reality in the here and now! Cheers.
