@@bob-px3sh this is the song that started my journey to the AB world, very strong and cool, helps in difficult times. Because only the strong, I SAID ONLY THE STRONG survive.
@@bob-px3sh I find White Knuckles to be a song of survival, rising up from the masses, from the fakeness of this world to find something real and important. Sure, it's going to be a struggle/difficult ride but that allows for only the strongest to succeed.
One thing that's been bugging me is the mistake many people are making in the chorus lyric by saying "and now making love's like drowning in blood" (it even sounds wrong when you sing it, it has too many syllables XD). It bugs me because the correct lyric "and now making love's like drawing blood" actually adds a lot of meaning to the song, considering drawings of blood were used a long time ago because they were believed to heal people, to remove the bad in the body. So the lyric is actually saying that when he sees and dates other girls he's just doing it to try to forget the girl he is still in love with, he's trying to cleanse his decease, her. But he can't, because "still, she reigns over me". This to me is an incredible lyric and just shows how honest and thoughtful Myles is and has always been in his writing, even going way back to these days.
Myles will be like finally I'll have no worries about performing songs with toughs notes because of the F#5's I was doing on the last tour with Words darker than your wings. You: Please do this song with an even higher note!
What a stunning song! 'And now making love's like drawing blood'. Wow. Myles' desperate screaming plea, while that guitar weeps uncontrollably. How does a song of this calibre, not make it onto the album?
The only criticism I have of this song, is that, after taking its time to build up and express, it just ends way too abruptly. Let the epic-ness play out.
It is such an unfortunate for people who don´t have the privilege to listen to this song. This song takes you off of everything. Can´t stop listening to this.Thank you Myles.
Having my heart broken a long time ago by a man I couldn’t escape from for many years, i can play this song to anyone to show them how it felt to go through that hard part of my life. Myles puts all those painful feelings into this beautiful song. That guitar solo....the sound of a broken heart. Such a beautiful song
Agreed! And that melodic scream/wail he gives at the end. Sends chills down my spine everytime. I think we all have experienced anguish like that at some point.
I drove by late that night And my heart stopped, and so did time Inside her lights were dim But I could see she was with him And now all I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love’s like drown in blood Still she reigns over me If time could fade a thing In a thousand years I’d still see her face She haunts me everywhere I go In this small town, my prison’s home And now all I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love’s like drown in blood Still she reigns over me All I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love’s like drown in blood Still she reigns over me All that I want is to move on ‘Cause still she reigns over me
" Second Skin" is as real as it gets! I feel the vocals. Are pure passion! Feelings expressed by Myles Kennedy through songs. No holding back. Raw! I understand, see and get what it is truly about. Myles is a gift. It is all from his heart.🎤🎸🎶🎼🌹
The first time I heard this song I cry my heart out, cause the suffering in his voice is so touchy and painful... the theme broke a knot inside myself and it released something that I buried some years ago. He became my all the time fav artist, it's sure.
Luciano C. R. I’m hoping at some point that will happen. But in all honesty myles’s solo stuff really is the M4 because he uses his drummer from that band. Anything from Myles’s is spectacular
Awesome song beautiful voice and emotion. Too bad it ends that quick, the fade out should be slower and give us a little more in that ending, should've made it last longer.
I only discovered this a few days ago. Gotta say, 2016/early 2017 me would cry his eyes out to this, this was my situation at that time, everywhere I went, something reminded me of how she didn't like me and how I had to accept it (it goes even deeper than that, way worse actually, but moving on), it's not easy at all, and like the song says, she still reigned over me, even though she didn't mean to. Musically, it's almost perfect, I just wished they let that ending breathe, but hey, it's unreleased, so maybe it wasn't even finished like they wanted it.
Sérgio, we meet again. I do agree w/ you about the ending. I'm thinking that unreleased, it wasn't finished and we would have gotten the ending we wanted, if it had been. Oh, and I wasn't even purposely looking for a comment by you. Your comment was the one that struck me the most and the one I wanted to reply to, and then I saw the name. :)
Reigns Over Me The Mayfield Four I drove by late that night And my heart stopped, and so did time Inside her lights were dim But I could see she was with him And now all I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love's like drown in blood Still she reigns over me If time could fade a thing In a thousand years I'd still see her face She haunts me everywhere I go In this small town, my prison's home And now all I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love's like drown in blood Still she reigns over me All I want is to move on Still she reigns over me And now making love's like drown in blood Still she reigns over me All that I want is to move on 'Cause still she reigns over me
I'm so happy Myles and Zia are playing MF4's Eden, White Flag and High on Myle's solo tour. I'm not sure what the legalities are around playing more MF4 stuff, especially the unreleased material but I'd love to hear it.

Alexis Ruelas Thank you. Tiny corrections : Drawing blood, and if time could fade anything. Can't stop listening, so I've memorized the lyrics anyway ❤
