The Mazda CX-50 Is A Better CX-5 Except For This One Important Thing 

Coming from Mercedes E350 4Matic, I tested Volvo xc60, Acura RDX, New crv sport touring and Toyota venza. I bought the cx50, I don't know what ppl complain about, this drives like a car, like a BMW

I like CX-50 for 3 features that are first for Mazda: panoramic moonroof (standard here in Canada), hood struts and the ability to mirror the gps directions from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the heads up display (Active Driving Display)

The cx50 corrected many of the short comings of the cx5. Love the new design, it more rugged, beautiful.

The CX-50 is not a close sibling of the Corolla Cross so you may want to check your facts on that…. Otherwise good video.

While every review compares the cargo volume between the CX-5 and CX-50, nobody compares the actual dimensional differences between the two. What is the cargo area length and width of each model? I currently have a 2020 CX-5, but I'm seriously considering the CX-50 because it is wider and longer than the CX-5, and should therefore have a wider and longer cargo area. Height isn't as important for me, so the CX-50 being a little lower inside compared to the CX-5 isn't a deal breaker.

I want the CX-50 because of BAD winters here...wet bad snow... etc.. and JUST FUN..

3:27 i dont thing i can agree with you on that. The semi digital cluster is a much better option compared to something so ugly like the kia or hyundai one.

CX-50 feels better from a driver’s perspective. The feedback sold me on it. I test drove the CX-5 back to back with the -50. The turbo model gives you no feeling of fast even though it’s obviously much faster, the cloth seat is MUCH COMFIER on the CX-50 than the leather in the -5. I think Mazda in general does not have great leather options at the moment, which is kind of a shame.

The CX-50 is my next buy. I have owned 3 other Mazdas and ever since they went back to Japanese manufacturing standards instead of shared Ford parts, they can't be beat. They have gone way up in quality and reliability and in my opinion are very close to Honda and Toyota. And the 2.5l they put in these things has been a very good engine for Mazda, don't fix what isn't broken.

For me, on my 2023 Mazda CX5 Carbon Black Edition, I can't stand the collision avoidance as several times the car locked the brakes thinking a collision was immediate when i was going around a car turning right - horrible system so i disable this as soon as I get into the car. I HATE how i use manual tuning on the radio (cause so easy to spin the dial to switch around the channels) and it won't keep the setting, if i switch to something else, i have to crawl back into the menu to setup manual tuning feature - it doesn't save settings (like disabling collision avoidance or manual setup). I also hate when i am making a left turn in a left turn double lane with my blinker on, it makes all types of noises and beeps and steering jerks thinking you are going to crash when you are not. This automatic car warning systems are not great and wish i could disable all of it (and it would save my settings where i only have to do it once).

I would take the CX-5 carbon edition over the CX-50. The CX-50 plastic cladding around the wheels and fake plastic vents look silly to me.

I DONT want a digital cluster, or a touch screen for entertainment.

The cx50 is touch screen when you pair it with iphone or android and some think its touchscreen only when the vehicle is slow or in stationary, which is not true. you can make it full time touch screen by going to the settings option. please do not compare this car with corolla cross both are in different range. sit in corolla cross feels really cheap and sit in this one and know the difference and also on the driving dynamics both are way different.

Very good review. I have heard from other reviewers that the seat bottoms on the CX50 are too firm and moderately uncomfortable. How bad is this problem? Such an important part of the vehicle. Is it a deal-breaker?

"Towing capacity" 😂 It's a 4 cylinder...unless you hate your car, you don't tow with a 4 cylinder

I had a CX-30 which was a good car but I felt it had very thin leather interior. My Lexus NX has much substantial leather seats / interior.

They have no CD player!

CX 50 design is cool but technically it is not better than CX 5 ! CX 50 is based on Mazda 3 platform ,stock 2.5 natural aspirated engine is pretty weak for this car, 6 speed transmission is not enough is 2023.

The CX5 is a much prettier car, especially from the front and that zircon sand colour is ugly as hell, I think the terracotta interior isn’t that great either.

I think you got your MPG swapped....the CX-5 with the base engine (NA 2.5) gets 24 and 30 city/mileage....the turbo engine does far worse. These numbers should be close to the same in the CX-50....I think the MPG figures you cited were for NA vs turbo.

CX5 is built in Japan and that alone makes it better than anything built in North America

Whata WASTE of time...I spent 30 hours reading and watching videos on that Mazda CX-50..just stopped by and sat in it and HATED IT...CHEAP HARD PLASTIC UNCOMFORTABLE...NOTHING LIKE THE MAZDA 3

Why do car manufacturers keep saying "leather" seats when it's not?

With a turbo Its the same price as the mercedes GLC 300, hmm. Mercedes gives you better seats and a independent rear suspension.

I love the CX-50 IF-- I F I can get one WITHOUT the stupid moon roof BS (that's a leak ready to happen)... and WITHOUT the 20' wheels-- and skinny flat looking tires-- I want 17 or 18" wheels with lots of rubber on them.. (don't want them looking like I have a huge wheel with a rubber band stretched around it..(retarded looking).. IF I F I can get one to fit that description- I may get one-- I want the 24 though..
