Tier 2 link🧊: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pr_odCl4Kd4.html Hey everyone - this video series will definitely be one of the most challenging that I've ever put together, but it's also one of my favorite. Please let me know what you think of the concept and definitely share some things that you want me to add to the later tiers. Also feel free to expand on some of the concepts covered here today for anyone who wants to learn more 🤙

Try to remember aLie is easily explainable because it's clear, complete, and logical. The truth is always messy and ugly.

Oh my gosh I am SO EXCITED for this! I have only discovered a passion for medicine after taking an 80 first aid course a few years ago. I am now going into university to pursue nursing (I never thought I would go to uni) and am keeping my options to pursue medicine further down the line. Just like you, I can't get enough and I am so excited that this is coming out!! Thank you!

This is great! Consuming iceberg media is the gold standard to learn for me, from true crime and unsolved mysteries to medical icebergs, I can't fathom how happy I am watching this iceberg.

Hi I’m a first year med student! I enjoyed this video so much and I’m so excited for the next video, especially the social contagion. The dancing mania was kind of scary and I can’t believe that was only tier 1. I’ve never turned on bell notifications but I don’t want to miss the next one 😋

I highly recommend the Bedside Rounds podcast for this type of thing, it's focused mainly on the history of medicine pre-1950s or so. The one about Typhoid Mary was one of my favourite episodes, and he has several on Rene Laennec (stethoscope etc), but also more obscure things like Dr. Livingstone & malaria history, the Blackwell sisters, and lots more. Some other things to look into: Sara Josephine Baker is another badass woman from the history of medicine, who greatly improved newborn mortality by advocating for breastfeeding & high-quality formula (as opposed to contaminated cow's milk), among other achievements. Charles R. Drew is another interesting figure from the past, an early African American doctor who went to McGill and invented the technology that enabled blood banks.

14:45 It goes EVEN further back as well, as seen in some depictions of the Mesopotamian god of vegetation, the underworld, and war, Ningishzida. One very good example is the depiction of Ningishzida on the Libation Vase of Gudea, showing two serpents coiled around a staff!

Great video! I have some suggestions: Typhoid Mary Origin of cesarean section Suicides after hearing Hungarian song "gloomy Sunday" Unethcial researches done by Nazi doctors on prisoners leading to a trial People used to predict death of a newborn by licking its head (context of cystic fibrosis) Hysterectomy and hysteria

TLDR listen to Poor Historians Podcast Many of the historical facts I already knew. For one I'm a history nerd, so I love historical podcasts. I wanted a new podcast and just typed something like Historian into the search bar. Found Poor Historians Podcast. Three ER physicians retelling the medical history. It is silly and sometimes a bit gross, but lots of interesting facts.
