I got the Wii version of this game just after getting a very painful shot in my arm. If you think the controls in this are bad, just imagine having to swing the Wii remote and Nunchuck to swing your webs and fight, while having one arm gimped from an injection. That is anti-fun.
This game's actually pretty good, had fun with it as a kid and when revisiting it in recent times. Wish it wasn't one of the few titles incompatible with PCSX2
Assuming you don't mind slightly more arkward controls and worse graphics, you could try emulating the PSP version via the PPSSPP emulator - it's exactly the same game more or less, and you can probably upscale the game even higher than the PS2 version though the control scheme is more compressed overall. Might be worth a try.
I remember beating the final boss fight in this game once, but my tiny goblin child brain forgot to save so the next time I went to play this I loaded before the fight and I never played the game again. Which honestly was probably better for me.
Its been many years since I've touched this game, but I don't remember it looking this bad, but I do remember it making me feel sick every once in a while.
I remember Spiderman 3 for Ps3 was always on display at malls and game shops in 2007 so you could play the game. In one shop they had the Ps2 version instead and I remember being so confused and disappointed.
This game had 5 different storylines and would switch it up every time you restart the game That's why cut scenes were extremely different I only managed to do 3 One with Lizard One with Morbius and his girlfriend One with That weird guy who had a thing for jameson
Holy shit he’s actually playing it hahahaha. This was my first experience with Spider-Man 3 and wasn’t aware it was completely different from PS3/X360 versions.
Fun fact: I played through this entire game without doing upgrades. Why would I subject myself to this torture even longer than I needed to? I was too young to read.
The controls in the Wii version are actually kinda neat, at least when swinging You get to "control both arms individually" with a wiimote+nunchuck while swinging
I remembered playing the heck out of the Wii version when I first got the Wii (before I know anything about gaming), then the likes of Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time came out and this game got forgotten.
My god when i was a kid i really like this game and i had spiderman 2 and this but i got piss off at it for the mission where you fight the giant lizzard it took me so so much time to beat it and after that ive never played it
This was the version I had when it came out. I beat it and everything. Because of this, when I got my hands on the 360 version, I was impressed. It's telling that the PSP version of Spider-Man 3 is just a direct port of this version with little-to-no changes.
I still like it more than the PS3/360 versions. Black Suit was kinda similar to Web of Shadows' black suit and in terms of gameplay it was basically maxed out Red suit, which made you want to stay in the symbiote, except when you would do this, symbiote would gain more control over you and it'd be worse and worse to get out of it. I dunno, I find this game pretty fondly
I remember renting this game and I kinda enjoyed it. Though I went through the whole game without buying one upgrade, well until I got the final Venom boss fight. lol
i remember when i first bought this game. I was so hyped because Spider-man 2 was such a masterpiece, i couldn't wait to have Spider-man 2's gameplay but now with the black suit. It was so disappointing.

this looks like the amazing spiderman mobile games with 2 dollars more on their budget, and i can confirm as someone who was playing the game on ps2 while watching this vid... its reallly this bad
for those who get stuck in combat on spider man 3 ps3 or Xbox 360 version use the slow down time button to dodge and get more damage in on enemies. but the fact that the ps3 version came out in 2007 of all years and looks and plays worse than spider man 2 is really bad. i never completed spiderman 3 in the past as the kraven boss fight had the worst most pointless difficult spike ive ever seen in a game and ive played tons of games
I played this version and beat it before the ps3...PS3 version is so much better...especially the combo system and you can actually run. My fav Spider-Man game still, but havent played brand new one yet.
