It Is Nearly 800km Wide At Its Widest Point. The Coastline Of The Mediterranean Sea Stretches Across 22 Different Countries And Measures Over 46,000 Km.

The Sea Has An Average Depth Of About 1,500 M. The Deepest Point Of The Mediterranean Sea Is The Calypso Deep, With A Depth Of 5,267 Meters, Nearly Half The Size Of The Challenger Deep In The Pacific Ocean Which Is The Deepest Point Of The Earth.
There Are Over 3,000 Islands In The Mediterranean Sea. The Largest Of Them Include Sicily, Sardinia, Cyprus, Corsica, Crete, Euboea,and Majorca. The Mediterranean Sea Is One Of The Busiest Waterways In The World, Approximately 20% Of The Global Sea Trade Passes Through The Mediterranean Sea. Various Major Cities Like Alexandria, Rome, Venice, Beirut, Athens, Marseille, Tel Aviv, Tripoli, Nice Are Located Along The Coast Of The Mediterranean Sea.
