Those hand movements are so hilariously obnoxious. This scene is perfect.

That acronym joke is brilliant. Completely out of nowhere. And I love the aggressive Kryten!

I always loved that Lister thought Kryten's plan was a good one.

This is still my favourite Rimmer scene from the whole of Red Dwarf - he absolutely sums up the essence of the sandal wearing brigade to a T here. The only thing missing was a tambourine!

This scene is basically Alien vs Question Time.

You know something's amiss when Rimmer and Lister are calling each other David and Arnold.

I like how, in an episode full of references to the Aliens film, Lister is wearing a red bandana around his neck like vasquez from "Aliens."

The best scene ever, from the best comedy ever...just a timeless masterpiece. Everyone played their part, but Rimsy was just sheer impeccable placidness.

About 20 years ago after watching every episode of Red Dwarf I concluded that this was the best scene in the best episode. Not one to start with though.

By far one of my favorite scenes in all of Red Dwarf. Never fails to make me laugh. Very well written and superb acting especially from Rimmer.

I like this fearless version of Lister. Same goes for Kryten without his guilt.

This is just magic.

How I miss Red Dwarf. I would eagerly wait for each episode and can't remember a single time I was ever disappointed. It was, by far, the best comedic Sci-Fi show ever and the only other one that came close was "Paul".

Superb clips like this makes me wonder which of Chris Barrie's red Dwarf characters reflect the real person the most.

People love Rimmer's part here, absolutely right of them, but Cat's small input is gold to me.

the good thing about Rimmer is that he will never need a zimmer.

Does anyone else watch Red Dwarf so they can be taken back to the simpler time in their life. I watch it to get away from this world, I feel like I am with them isolated on the ship having a good time. So sad why is life so hard

Epic acting from Chris Barrie

This is basically parliament debating Brexit (apart from one key difference - these guys actually make a decision)

Red Dwarf never got better than this. Obviously, great episodes were made but, in terms of wall to wall humour and scares and the characterisation. Chris Barrie is priceless. Psirens, from series 6, was a great episode though - it gets underrated but there are loads of great lines in it and it's more of a worthy kind of sequel than series 6's Polymorph II was.

Fear, Vanity, Guilt and Anger, sounds like a typical Saturday afternoon to me.

In over a minute with no related input from anyone else, Rimmer goes from giving a solution package over tea and biscuits to let's get tough; talking is over.

Chris Barrie recently described this as his favourite scene from the entire show.

This whole scene translates perfectly into what I imagine a government cabinet meeting sounds like.

"Listen, you bunch of tarts. It's clobbering time".

"If it wants a barney, I'll give it one! One swift knee to the happy sacks, it'll drop like anyone else!"

BBC had such great shows in the 90s, like this and Blackadder.

I had a high school english teacher who looked exactly like Rimmer's bit character even down to the glasses and goatee.. I could never unsee it

Having watched Reginald Perrin, the anger-less Rimmer reminds me a bit of Tom. Just need him saying he’s ‘just not an anger person.’

What i like about this clip is that they're the same characters through a different lens. Cat is still wasting his life with addiction (fashion, booze) barely paying attention Lister is still willing to fight, but his willingness to self sacrifice to save others has become pure self destructive. Kryten is still analytical but pragmatic, just willing to throw humans under the bus. And Rimmer is still cowardly and trying to assert his silly opinion, but now he dresses it up as "noble" Such minor changes to character yet significant results!

I made a batch of those "GIVE QUICHE A CHANCE" shirts... same font and everything. no one understood.
