Watch as I interview my dear friend, Melissa Rivers. We talk about everything from show business, to her iconic mother, and I air some of her dirty laundry along the way.
Melissa was a very pleasant and likable guest and made Josh look good. I'm so happy to see this sweet and engaging side of Melissa. Just loved her in this interview! Love to see a mother so caring of her child. She has lots of depth to her, a lot of which just went over Josh's ADD head.
Thanks so much dear , if you don't mind i will like to get to know a true fan much better so drop your number in my email so i can text you and get to know you more better. realjamesharris88@gmail.com
Joan Rivers was a legend who left this world too soon. I miss her humor and I know Melissa is trying to carry the torch. But, I wish there were series dedicated just to Joan highlighting her personality, humor, and disregard for society norm. This was the core that attracted so many. Joan - we love and miss you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love them both but more importantly I loved Joan! Had the pleasure of seeing her in Atlantic City and she was incredible! I so miss her! She was brilliant!
Melissa has (or at least displays) a high level of intelligence, groundedness and intrinsic sanity. This would work against her as ''talent'', IMO. I really think its the dash of neurosis if not outright insanity that can translate to fascinating in front of the camera. Always admired her. Her parents did a good job.
Melissa is wonderful! It was great seeing her and her mom. Now years without her mom Josh watches over her. And can say anything to her. I'd give anything to go to dinner at Craig's with Josh and Melissa. Too much fun.
Thanks so much dear , if you don't mind i will like to get to know a true fan much better so drop your number in my email so i can text you and get to know you more better. realjamesharris88@gmail.com
I bought tickets to Joan's show in London at Albert Hall. I was so disappointed when she died, because I had never seen her live and I was going to finally get to see her before we both bit the dust.
She looks so much like her Momma! She’s right whenever someone’s in the intensive care unit, every family is the same. It doesn’t matter who’s who, everybody’s on the same level. He’s got a hole under his arm of his shirt!
I'm so sorry Melissa lost her mom, her best friend. I didnt kknow Meliss did other great work. I hope your son appreciates how good a mother you are. My sister and I loved our parents so much. My mom could be a bit overbearing to me when I was younger.. I loved Joan Rivers on QVC with her business partner.. liked to listen to their stories. I remember when the news reported on Melissa's dad. I didn't know it was an overdose. I can't imagine being told that in the library of her home. I enjoyed listening to your interview with Melissa. I learned a lot about her. I wish the best for Melissa and yourself.
I could listen to Josh talk about about wall paper all day long -- Love him. Great interview Josh, you weren't afraid to ask the hard questions but kept everything interesting. I don't remember a time I didn't love Joan. She was a part of my childhood and one of the few female comedians at that time. I followed her till the day she died and the bagpipes ushered her out with NY NY. Melissa is cute, intelligent, and has a lot of common sense. She is funny like I'm funny. She commands the room with a group of friends and keeps everyone laughing I loved her show and she is a wonderful mom to Cooper. Joan Rivers however was a super star. An original who blazed trails no other women had. Her view of the world was hysterical and seemed to never stop. There is an arrogance about Melissa Joan never had. Also a bitterness and entitlement. She's angry that she is not received like Joan was. It shows. No one would step into Joan's shoes, not even her daughter. As soon as Melissa finally figures that out and her own self worth . . . she will be a much happier woman. Melissa is blessed with many gifts and talents. When she embraces that and finds her lane . . . she will shine !
I like when he talks about all the history of the neighborhoods in LA. Designers & architects whose homes showed up on Columbo or who lived in what home. So interesting
I’am so happy I found your channel!! Just randomly ran into it by looking up suezanne d passse , and now I’ve been binge watching this channel, and I love it so much !! 😍🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Melissa has always been very candid and well-spoken. At the 44:25 mark (sorry, I don't know how to hyperlink to that), she talks about her mum's passing and how she coped.
I grew up watching Joan Rivers - I remember her on the Ed Sullivan Show. I'm also Jewish from Crown Heights, Brooklyn where Joan was born and raised - we're a decade apart. I so miss Joan's HUMOR --- it's exactly like mine - so real and out there!!!! Melissa, your mother was so out-spoken (especially in those days) --- and so funny. It was the end of an era when she passed - but she gave millions of people "millions of laughs." And - Yes - I used to watch her on QVC, Fashion Police and all those Red Carpet Shows (with you.) I enjoyed your interview with Josh.
Melissa God and the Universe when you were made. Your Mumma was beyond fabulous. Cooper enjoyed a truly wonderful living relationship with his Bubbie. Australia 3.31 am
So nice to see you again Josh...Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2021. After listening to this entire interview, I thought that concentrating on the deaths of Melissa’s parents was disrespectful. There was so much more interesting content that Josh could have asked. I felt his questions were very voyeuristic. It just felt yucky. The whole interview went too far. I had a grandmother with a significant brain injury and I felt Melissa’s pain. For a Jew to be given a rosary was beautiful....it’s a very important symbol in my religious life as a Roman Catholic.
Melissa I do not know if you are going to read m comment, but I am writing it in hope you will check some time the comments section of this interview in the future. I became a huge fan of your mom Joan Rivers 4 months before she passed away, but I also became your fan too. I loved the reality you two had where you lived together. You are a very talented producer and person. After your mom passed away I was really worried I was not going to see you anywhere, not because they would not invite you, but because you are more of a producer. The career I think that you should have followed at least at some point is acting. I think you would have an amazing career. You have the voice, the look, everything. I saw your part where you played your mom, FANTASTIC, you were born to be an actress. Of course it is never too late, (not that you are not successful or sth)! OMG as I am writing this you are talking about your acting skills LOL! Anyway, glad I searched for you today on youtube, so I learned about your podcast. Of course it is gonna be a new binge listening day for me now! Love you, and we miss your mom so much!!! Wouldn't it be funny if she lived to die from COVID? LEGENDARY! (just a joke Joan would at least accept it, do not be mad people)
I have always liked Melissa, feet well planted, great sense of things. We share many of the same friends and interests, and since I've never stumbled into her yet I might as well confess, I have wanted to fill her like an overnight bag as long as I can remember. 44:25 is the time in life that can't be faked. The more powerful your parents or parent was, the wider their net, the greater their sphere of influence, the bigger those fights growing up, the more love there was regardless of how it was shown, your true desire for their approval, etc. the heavier that weight. Everything they have ever taught you, demanded of you, hoped for you, expected of you, wanted for you, feared for you.......Guess What? YOU'RE ON @ 44:25 ! As an only child of a ball-busting mother, who EVERYONE absolutely adored , whose death came quite suddenly less than 2 months ago and has left quite a legacy and history behind her, handling 'it all' has been beyond over-whelming. There was no way to prepare for something like this. Thank God I was paying attention every day whether I was surfing, trying to avoid the fights at the dinner table, riding dirt bikes, racing cars, making movies, hanging out with girls, starting companies, or even just acting like I was paying attention. I love you, Mom! Happy Holidays and God bless you both, Melissa & Josh!
His butt cheek though, it is pretty nice, just saying. =D Feels like a fun and casual, non-Hollywood style friendly interview. He is a little crass though. I like Melissa now though I never watched any of her shows previously, I knew exactly who she is. Her mom was amaaazing. He seems genuine, she is too. He knows a lot about a lot of people. I enjoyed this. it was just, realy genuine. No phony crap. I would love to hear from Hunter, ask him what he lived about Grandma Joan, his best memories, funny and not funny and her best attributes as a human and his gramma.
Ahh, I love mills & i ms ur Mom MUCH!!! 😞❤️. Love u 2 Josh! I’ve been watching a lot of Joan n Johnny Carson & her show. I think since Johnny fel h discovered Joan, she should of gone to him regarding getting an offer for on show. Which Johnny would of known about. I think that is why he wouldn’t talk to h. N Heaven their friends again, and will always be in each other’s life’s if they come back. ✌️❤️🙏👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟📺🎤🎬. I loved Joans hair powder, but I can’t find it. I used to buy it fro Bed Bath & Beyond. Now I have to use Claior. I did love her line on QVC, but now? ✌️🌈
Melissa carries this dope through the interview. He should do his homework!. Melissa is very funny and intelligent lady. The Kathy Griffin bit was plain rude . Joan would have slayed him !
She's not as funny as her mother, but she is funny for sure. (I don't know, just my personal judgment). Melissa, get a good publicist because you're NOT visible in media. Your mother was visible because she was a bawdy lady who would say really dirty things and she was willing to piss people off. You're sort of bland. I know, it's not nice to say, but I'm trying to just maybe be insightful from a viewer's POV.
@@barbaragraceful Very insightful, Barbara. I understand your perspective. Melissa certainly doesn't need the money, so I guess it just shows that she doesn't have the same fire as Joan. Joan was a raging inferno and Melissa is the slow burning fire with the hot embers.
Terrible interview skills. “Do u not like talking about your mom” rather than “ Is it difficult to talk about your mom”. No display of intellect. Really want to get to know Melissa but cant get past annoying Josh
