The ironic thing is that this Memphis team had a great image that they just needed to maintain: Grit & Grind. Even though that team never won a championship, people respected how hard they played. No one wanted to see them in the playoffs because they knew it would be a war. And, early on, Ja seemed to be aware of that image and embrace it. But, apparently, he's not enough of a leader to take Brooks and others aside and tell them to cool it. To be fair, he's young, but someone on the team should have. (And, of course, Ja needs to look in the mirror.) This is still a young team with possibilities. But, they're going to make their life much harder than it needs to be if they don't keep their heads down and get back to what made Grizzles basketball good. Be interesting to see if they figure it out.

Reminds me a lot of the Phoenix guys acting like they had won something after losing in the finals against Milwaukee. Unless there's a parade at the end of your season you didn't win much of anything and you need to improve! You usually need to eat a couple of slices of that humble pie before you are ready to win it all... This is why mid-season trades don't usually end up with titles in the third of the season you end up playing together. This is why Miami didn't win in 2011 etc. It is damn hard to win it all.

At the start everyone even me was excited to see this grizzlies team play its crazy how they made everyone turn 180° against them in under 82 games

I'm from Memphis. A Grizzlies fan since the contracts to move here were signed. I'm an all-weather fan. But Dillon and Ja's b.s. this year made a decision for me. If the Grizzlies didn't grow up as an organization immediately, I'll sit this era out. The off the court incidents were nauseating. The trash talking to the press was embarrassing and epicly dumb. But all of us armchair analysts need to look deeper into NBA history. This was the Grizzlies core's 2nd year together, (Ja's 4th). In those two seasons, everyone in the core, (Moran, Jackson, Bane, and mother effin beast STEVE ADAMS), had so many injuries, they played together in just under 30% of our games. We are young and immature. But take alook at some of the g.o.a.t.s. Between LeBron, Steph, Kobe and M.J., only one made a finals appearance in less than 4 years. And it took two of these guys SIX years or more before they won a finals. Some were considered villains in their early days for talking trash and showboating. And some had off the court troubles even worse than when Ja, his crew, and his MOTHER seriously threatened a shoe store clerk. Anybody remember any g.o.a.t.s that had to face sexual assault charges? The Grizzlies are young and immature. And in a flash these young and immature players were paid a hundred times more money than I've ever seen. So they deserve a chance to make things right. One ray of hope is, in the month since his "time away", Ja's saying most of the right things and keeping his private life mostly private. And a real piece of good news is that since Dillon has repeatedly stated that he's not going to change, he's no longer a Memphis problem, for the team or the city. I wish he would grow up and be able to stay. People in the organization all say Dillon is good dude off the court. He's a really good defender and his offense, as recently as last year, wasn't a liability and was occasionally the reason we'd win. So my argument is, the actions of a couple of guys on our team WERE pathetic. The team and the organization are really good and are just a couple of moves from being championship capable. For what it's worth, Dillon is a free agent this off-season. Some team's gonna toss him a bag. Couple that with the fact that Ja's super max officially kicks in this upcoming season (and needing to make a decision on Xavier Tillman), and I wouldn't be surprised if the Grizzlies let Dillon walk.
