Operation Bluestar was a mess in every way possible, except for the bravery and sacrifice of individual soldiers. Pakistan simply can't be used as an excuse for rushing to dislodge all those militants inside the golden temple. Too many lives have been sacrificed (both soldiers and civilians). Not to mention the lasting damage such a heavy-handed operation has done.

Any humanitarian decision will always always have a negative impact, even life consists of taking the lesser damaging resolution.
