I live in South Florida and Messi has made this soccer team bigger than the Miami Marlins overnight

Miami has a huge Argentinian population, and Spanish is spoken everywhere. The main draw was the fact that his family would feel right at home. That time at PSG was hell for Messi, knowing that his family was living out of a hotel. All for a fan base that booed him, a team that held him back so he wouldn't steal the spotlight from Mbappé, and a club that was in chaos due to coaching changes.

Messi's arrival in Miami is much bigger than his impact on soccer. Miami is on hyperspeed becoming a Doubai and Singapore within the US. From an economic sense Miami is booming with its low taxes and this incredible drive that New York City had in the past. The arrival in F1 as well as in Miami was an added Global recognition of an exciting city.

Saying Messi is a good player is an incredible understatement. Messi is not good, he's a freaking beast, one of the best players to ever set foot on a stadium. Even so one of the reasons Miami could afford him is that he's no longer at his prime. Yeah he won the world cup, but the reason why they said that was his last chance is because he probably won't be playing for Argentina on the next, because at 36 you're already old for player standards. But that's the thing about fenomenal players like Messi: his way downhill is leagues away from most players in the world, so even if you think his game is like 50% of what it used to be...dude, that's way, way better than 100% from most players. You should have seen him playing for Barcelona with Xavi and Iniesta. His skills are ridiculous.

The only thing I disagree with you here is regarding your statement about Messi needing a world cup in order to established himself as the best. No my friend, he would of still been the best. One tournament does not define the player. It's his body of work for nearly 20 years.

For years I've been saying Messi(in Florida because there's alot of Spanish influence there and the weather's not too shabby) and Ronaldo (probably somewhere near Hollywood)could play in the MLS,my friends argued the teams couldn't afford them,I say give em equity in the team plus they will drive up the value so much for the commercial side of the clubs that'll last decades. If Kaka,Henry and the great Zlatan could sell out stadia in the MLS, then the greatest football rivalry would obliterate all previous records in the MLS. At least one of em listened.

He is beloved around the world and the matter in which countries across the planet celebrated Argentina"s WC win like if it was their own country winning it , simply because of Messi tells you everything you need to know. What Miami did was extraordinary, bringing a 36 yr old Messi who is not in his prime but still better than 95% of football players on the planet. And a smart move on Messi's part bussines wise. The Saudis were offering him around 1.2 billion but the MLS offered him shares, stock, Apple revenue and Addidas revenue. Also, like he always said in his interviews he always tought about his wife and kids and their comfortability after the whole PSG debacle. Now not just Messi or Inter Miami, but the whole MLS is eating and profiting. Copa America will take place in the U.S next year and WC will take place here as well. This move is great not onlly for the league but the sport of football as a whole.
