The church will always forgive and forget their leader’s mistakes, but they won’t do the same for the congregation. If the pastor’s kid starts acting up in church, everyone turns their head away and close their eyes. But when it’s someone else’s kid, they’re so quick to judge and gossip about them. I attended Empowerment Temple when he was just starting out. He didn’t have a church home yet and held services in the auditorium of Coppin State University. The whole city of Baltimore knew he was in the streets. When he finally got married, he didn’t even do it in his new church building. He got married down South. The 17 yo girl he got pregnant was from a prominent Baltimore family( they owned funeral homes) and they didn’t need his money. So much drama that I couldn’t respect him.

I’m 28 and love being around elderly people and teaching the kids at church, being a GODLY GOOD EXAMPLE.

I was a Minister at a Church here in Houston and when he came to speak at the church, he sent his armor barrier to let me know he had a "word from the Lord for me" that he wanted to give me after he relaxed in his hotel room ( this was in 2010).... I didnt fall for the okie doke, but another female Minister did and she became his Houston Church Hotspot until she started feeling guilty .... yall a Ho3 gon be a Ho3 no matter where theyre at or what job they have. Im still shocked this man is highly regarded and respected...But God's grace covers US all... he's consistent tho

This is the same conversation I just had with my aunt. I told her the hypocrisy in the church is mind blowing and this is why we can't reach any one for the Lord. When some thing in the church happens it's oh they had a moment of weakness, the devil made them do it, but when it's some one out side of the church, they're bound for hell. So the same devil that made the pastor do it isn't the same devil that made the sinner do it?

Yessss!!! Im enjoying this series! I remember first seeing a young Jamal preach at Bethel AME when I was a child in the 90s. My grandmother took me each Sunday to hear Pastor Reid’s sermons. Jamal always had an air of charisma about him but who knew he would he would take it this far😩😂 Empowerment Temple used to look like a club let out each Sunday in NW Baltimore! He was definitely the talk of Baltimore.

I grew up in His Father Bishop Bryant and Mother Rev. Cecila. Also bishop Mother and Father and they all were strong faithful people and L9ving , praying people. Our Church was blessed I got off a 19 year of Drug addiction and 1984 and served until end of 92 doing great things. Than left and moved to Germany for 25 years singing. Hallelujah won't he do it. I put my tithe to my utilities and help my family out when I need to. I go on my knees in a quiet place and pray, I always ask God to grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding when I read the Bible. I don't need no pastor to interpret the words of God for me. God gives me that discernment. Church is a social gathering now, I can't sit and listen to hypocrite preach, I just can't do it and then hand over my money to them? No, I can't do it.

I use to go to Empowerment Temple. I remember when he announced their engagement. The auditorium was dead silent except all of the women that were sucking their teeth. Then years later we were at a revival service and the mother of that girl that was pregnant blurted out that he had gotten her daughter pregnant but wasn’t taking care of his responsibilities. Not long after that we learned that he had been charged with harassment.

Im from Baltimore and I know of his history through mutual ministers when they were younger (late 1980s). I witnessed most of this MESS UNFOLD in his life and now almost 30+yrs later, he has "refined his foolishness" At first when I came across this video I thought, "Goodness, what has he done now?!" (Problematic-self). But EVERY SINGLE THING YOU SAID IS 100% correct! Smh...I hope as time continues to mature us all that he too FINDS WHERE "WISDOM BUILT HER HOUSE!" (BIBLICAL PUN) and pay her a visit..and infact move in and stay with her!
