I should have made it clear, which is my bad. I DO enjoy playing Master Duel. I just want to explain that there is so much more META now then there was before, and so much more decks you have to build and learn compared to when YUGIOH was first created. I still play the game and love the game, I know the game is constantly changing and we have to adapt if we want to keep on playing and winning. But this video was made to just explain my thoughts on the current state of yugioh and how it has changed! With so many Meta changes it is sometimes hard to keep old players and bring new players to the game! Thanks for reading this!
You know as much as i dislike and like playing master duel i keep playing it but meta needs to go they ruin the fun for rookie players including myself
I always said to my friends that yugioh games should be determined by who gets their “boss” monster out first and not by who resolves the most effects The fact that some anime based decks like buster blader, z-arc, elemental/destiny hero, hell even yubel are all good decks by todays standards, but because they are built primarily off of a gimmick or around the ace monster they end up wasting a fair amount of space on engine (which I believe all decks should be doing) supreme king gate magician set 3 with 2 scales SHOULD be a good enough endboard knowing that trap cards like *soul of the supreme king* and *soul of the supreme celestial king* exist
well, most of deck resolves that many effects to get out their boss, like kashtira, purrerly, and the one that does this the most its cyberse decks, like ignister or mathmech, or mathmech ignister, i use those 3 decks and the last one has a long ahh combo but we end up primarly with our 3 boss monsters, and before you say that doesnt count cause its mroe than one, some of them only revolve in a 6 mats arrival cyberse
@@rachvx I’m not really talking about resolution to special summon and search which are used to facilitate a combo, i mainly mean whether or not a player resolves cards like *max c*, *ash blossom*, and in some cases *nibiru* or if their endboard contains cards like appo, little knight, baronne, IP, or Promethean in gy My argument isn’t the fact that the number of resolutions but instead is the fact that the game grown into a format where staples and generic cards are what matters most and how the board is functionally the same between almost all meta decks. Hell even swordsoul is capable of housing a pretty toxic endboard with protos floodgate in only 7 summons(8 if they add a kashtira card) Id much rather play against a branded player who has the potential to gimmick puppet lock me turn one if I’m not paying enough attention (assuming I have the out). Dealing with a non target banish, my field getting nuked if I don’t otk, searchable back row, bystiel banishes. Is much more reasonable and is somewhat easier(and fun) to play around then prayers that *crossout* and *called by* isn’t in the opponents opening hand then having to play through negate city if God decides not to answer my prayers.
@@pinky90454 well i kinda understand your point, but honestly the fact that everyone uses the same decks gives yo ua chance do some funny things like memorizing the best moment to use your handtraps or negates if you go first, and its funny cause most people just surrender cause they dont even know how to use it perfectly, and when its against me that i get my life negated, i somehow manage to continue playing ( seriously how tf did i played trough 7 interactions, tbh superheavy samurai was just broken at the momment but still its surprising lul)
Okay say the line ,Meta bad. Look this entire argument just half bake in general, you don't have to build any meta deck to reach master in MD, even run sub optimal list is still fine, unless you really really want to play on highest level, like in person event and toping (noted toping ) then that the right time to get the big gun like full power snake eyes fiendsmith. MD is just the most casual competitive pool, and it will never change unless konami try to take MD seriously.
I’m quite a big fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime overall. Mainly the original series and GX. Anything else afterwards I never really cared for. With the exception of Zexal. That wasn’t too bad but the earlier shows were a lot better.
You guys are wrong and everyone is wrong about Yu-Gi-Oh. I've been playing the Meta since 2002, which was Exodia FTK. This game has always been about shutting down your opponent and winning as fast as possible
I share the sentiment that its not that fun to have 10k cards in your game and 500 at most are playable, but there not much way around this, rogue will aways have a hard time going against Meta. The only solution I see is having alternative formats, a thing that Master Duel is really bad at. But even then its would still be problems, because there would still be Metas at those formats and not every deck would be viable. And the summoning methods is something that I dont get why people make a problem (with the exception of Pendulums), its not that hard and most of the time you just need to know what your deck does and disrupt the normal summon and you win. But good video, would be a 9/10 but since you play Kash 7/10.
I swear, everyone of these videos pop up once in a while and it really just ends up sounding like just random complaints spouted with no real substance to them other than "I don't like change" or "new yugioh bad, old yugioh good." Just play what you like. Don't give a shit about what other people say or think. Find enjoyment in the game wherever you find it in. You don't need to add 10 different time stamps to a 4 minute video to prove some point.
well, i use both meta decks and fun decks, i love playing both of those type, my main fun deck its gunkan and dammn its hella funny, speciallyt when people forgot that the negate of the rank 5 its permanent and not till end of turn, and i honestly love the way the game its right now, the speed, the dificulty to break the opponents boards its waht i love the most
If i may critique your video, I think there are two major issues Ever since Master Duel has made it easier than ever to roll up with bad decks and see some amount of success due to the ranking system (mainly by staying around Gold). Ojamas probably isnt getting to Masters 1 any time soon, but it isnt as obsolete and bad as taking it to a bigger tournament to get more than three rounds with it. I think my second critique is about the length of the game. Although it's objectively true that the turns are getting longer... that's always been true? Of course, the formats will shift between longer and shorter turns, but it feels weird to pretend that a lot of older decks didn't also take ages. The main difference is that Konami is has clearly started incentivizing playing on your opponent's turn with our of archetype and in archetype hand traps. If you're still not enjoying modern YGO, however, may I suggest looking at older formats? There are some great discord channels for them, and Edison format is a GREAT place to start. (Mostly) super balanced, you need to know what cards to place down and what cards to use, and it's super popular! I hope you can find a way to start enjoying the game again
I do like the game. I'm sorry I wasn't specific enough. I was just explaining that since the Meta is changing so much more and people have to sometimes craft new decks in order to keep up with the Meta. Sometimes people would get frustrated of how much a new deck is already the Meta of a game, and they just finished fully crafting the last meta in order to compete. And as you know the Meta is constantly changing and people have to make new decks in order to win or play. And I totally understand that. I'm just wanted to give my opinion on how fast the Meta changes, and how sometimes it could be hard to keep old and bring new players to play the new style of Yu-Gi-Oh. I wish they would fix the match making in casual or make it easier to duel against anything other than tier 1 or tier 0 decks... include more classic or optional casual gamemodes or even a separate game for the noncompetitive players who just wanna craft fun classic or gimmick decks... masterduel is great with the triggers and stuff for players to get used to new card effects and effect timings, and its been really helpful to get back into the game, but it really is just too mentally taxing to have to deal with sweaty, toxic players and their even sweatier, more toxic decks. Because of this also, the game and the player base lack creativity, in ranked, i come up against the same deck 9/10 times, and the 10th is another toxic deck and both have just been copy pasted from yugiohpro or ripped from a youtube video its really not fun, and i get it "dont play ranked if you dont want to go up against meta decks" which is a fair point, or it would be if the casual option wasnt like 10 times worse, atleast in ranked i get matched up with players at my skill level and i dont spend the match watching someone play solitare on BOTH of our turns... like just play solos if you dont want the other people to play, its a two player game
