Rock Reacts Since you talking about J Cole progression, you should do “Can’t Get Enough ft Trey Songz” and listen to pretty little fears right after to really grasp his journey, he goes from a new hot cocky artist to a wise elder in the rap game.
@@Skatingnoob doesnt defeat the fact that X COULD OF been in a metal band. You're just a troll trying to get a rise out of someone. But sadly you wont :( have a great day man

I'm 99.99% sure the keyboardist is there to hold the effects of the guitar so that they shine through more. If you listen to the guitarist on the "wah-wah" parts, the sound isn't 100% on point... I think the keyboardist is just there to help keep that deep, crushing guitar in place. Pretty sure he's playing most of the melodic parts when the guitarist is soloing as well. It's just a guess, but I've watched that video 100 times and that looks to be the case.
I think it's partly that (at the beginning on the wah part, you can see him running his right hand back and forth, I wonder if he is controlling the pitch / modulation on the guitar?) and I think he may be doubling the bass part, the riff is very deep and fuzzy and it sounds to me like it may have 2 instruments in the same octave, with the guitar over the top.
@@irnbruboy9442 I think that is most definitely the case. There is keyboard equipment that can be used to alter the wave and pitches of electric guitars.
When Macklemore grabbed his head after the rap verse😂😂😂. It was such a genuine reaction...his mind was blown....as was mine. That was a proper rock out. Definitely gotta go and check out Denzel Curry now haha
I saw Denzel live a month ago. Apart from it being one of the most insane live performances I've ever seen, the thing I most respect is that once it's all over, he gently places down his microphone. So much respect and focus.
9:30 watching Jon become more and more impressed over the video until he loses it at this point is so entertaining hahah I know I'll be coming back to watch this video a lot, always great to see music resonate with people
I love the feeling of being overwhelmed with excitement when you find something that you love or rediscovering something you've always loved. Was a treat watching you guys so into it.
I love this union of hip hop and metal being established. The two artforms have so much in common. I'm an old hip hop head and was completely sold the first time I listened to metal nearly a year ago.
I stumbled across you guys a few months ago while as I was waiting at the airport for a flight to my grandfather's funeral. This channel picked me up then, and I'm so glad we got to see your reactions, and how happy you were listening to arguably the best 'Like A Version' cover done here in Australia! Keep it up lads, you fucking rock!
Always hyped for the Denzel Curry reactions! But pleeeease guys, do some more Capital STEEZ soon. You have already forgot since you are quite busy- just a quick reminder ;) So please: Capital STEEZ - Free The Robots or Capital STEEZ - Emotionless Thoughts
Pls react to: R.I.P 2 R.1.P by Denzel. (It's a remix of R.I.P by playboi carti So one of your favorite rappers remixing one of your least favorite song)
guy on the left: Does not know anyone.. or anything.. or any name.. and fkn runs it somehow .. and enjoys it guy on the right: Knows them all.. everything .. and everyone.. and fucking constructively does the review .. HANGOVER.. and just modestly owns it.. guys on their screen: nailn' it, having a ball, re-defining metal
The keyboardist was playing bass up under the bass...if that makes since. It was to thicken up the bass, if you listen closely, its barely there tucked behing the bass.
You caught the Siren Verse! Good shit Denton. Also can we just appreciate the fact Denzel would say Metal influenced him greatly, then he goes out there and proves it. True metal head
I was in no fucking way anything besides a hip hop and r&b head but THIS SHIT made me fucking headbang and wanna trash my fucking room!!!! Good fucking lord! Why did none of you fuckers tell me how exhilarating this type of music was?!
The end of the second verse and then the 16 bars over the Morello solo part is what sold this for me. The first half of the song I just thought it was a decent cover that didn't really do anything to add to the original, but the second half made me appreciate it more.
Hey Rock Reacts, just a little side note. The guy who’s playing the guitar is an Aussie artist called “Hart’s” he is a great artist in his own right and a bull shit good guitar player. Prince actually had a massive soft spot for the guy and invited him over to the states just to talk music. Interesting side note
Great to see tou guys seeing some Triple J stuff, I was in my car when the Like a Version came on and it was amazing. You guys should check out some of the Like a Version covers, they are amazing and have launched many a career in Australia.
I don’t think he just went in blind with this. Looked to me like he knew the lyrics really well like he had listened to this song when he was younger and just the way he matched the intensity of Zach. Had me head banging the entire song
In a similar vein, but also different: Australian Hip Hop artist Seth Sentry did a cover on the same show of Frenzal Rhomb's "Punch in the Face". He didn't do what Denzel Curry did but instead transformed the song to his own style. Interestingly he name drops Bulls on Parade as the other song he considered covering for the segment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AskD3RtcARs.html The Original by Frenzal Rhomb (since I dion't know how big they were outside Australia): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_z--E9OeuJE.html
Oliver Tree has a cover of Karma Police that I kinda prefer over the original, and this reminds me of that. Added verses, unique vocal techniques. Same with that Birdy cover of Skinny Love. Covers can be super powerful imo.
6:00 Yeah, I've always hated that about society because I'm usually aware of the original version before hearing the newer versions. I think my favorite one is House of the Rising Sun. Just took a folk song and made it insanely good.
