The bottom line here is that the Yankees are going to have two win one or maybe two games down in minute maid park if they want to beat the Astros, and the same can be said for the Astros at Yankee Stadium if they want to beat the Yankees, go Yankees all the way!!!
2 keys for the Yankees if they face the Astros: 1) They need to win a game in Houston (probably Game 1, with Greinke on the mound). 2) They need to win 1 of the 4 Verlander/Cole starts. (Game 3 is the only one of those 4 that's at Yankee Stadium, so that would seem to be the best bet.)
Your 1 and 2 don't quite fit together. If they don't beat Greinke in game 1, then they need to win 2 Cole/ Verlander starts. The Yankees need to win game 1, not "probably". If they don't, the series gets MUCH harder.
Ellande Campbell - The Yankees need be savages in game one especially against bottom tier of their dominating starting pitchers . They must win games one for the Yankees to be in good situation . Yankees need to do double steal bases and bunt if necessary to win against Verlander or Gerrit Cole
I'm so hyped up for this series to start already. I almost lost my voice from the DS I can only imagine the next 2 hopefully we can get to the WS of course. But man, I am so amped up. Let's go Yankees! #ChaseFor28
Notice that everything the Astros do is good even when they lose and when the Yankees sweep a team its because the Twins aren't that good. Well why are the Astros having problems with a team the Yanks have dominated all year.
@curragh 42 The Yankees have dominated the Rays though in every single facet of the game. I don't think that would change in the post season to be honest especially with home field advantage.
Tampa worries me for some reason.......like Dan said pick your poison and Tampa would be it. But they may be the team to upset everybody bc they've been and still are overlooked.
They will not sweep either the Rays or the Astros, but they could theoretically win in 5 or 6 games easily against either one if their starting pitching gets the job done the way they did against the Twins. They're both way better than the Twins, and I just don't see it being possible that they sweep either one
Angela Browning - I wish. Lets be realistic, they have two dominating starting pitchers and especially Cole who has struck 10 hitters or more in his last ten starts, No other pitcher hasn’t done that in MLB history. No walk in the park for the Yankees and tall order to win against the Astros.
We have to win the first two let’s go out there with that ambitious I’m sure we can take the first 2 wins .. Yankee fans down in Houston go out to that ball park and support our team... we got this series all we have to do is stay discipline and let the bats talk and we def have to get more savage then ever ..... let’s go Yankees... Yankee army let’s get savage !!!!! We have more than a team !!!!!!
Rays shouldn't be taken lightly that team is moneyball 2.0. they literally used Blake Snell who won the cy young last year to close game 4. And bullpened an entire post season game against the Astros and allowed 1 run which was a solo HR. They're gritty and they'll do everything they can to win. Teams like Astros might get flustered at the Bronx but rays play so many games there anyway u would think they could handle that pressure
Houston only won 1 game last year in the ALCS and then the rest of the way red sox took them out it was a quick series boston won the first game then houston took the 2nd game then the rest of the games boston won
Michael Caputo I was thinking the dodgers could beat the redsox and didn’t wanted the brewers to go into the World Series last year it would’ve ended in a sweep
Bottom line if your the best you dont think bout who you want to play...you just win@@@@@@ and it doesnt matter who you play... until my Yanks do that....sos.......
Be careful who you wish for in the postseason. When the Yankees lost against the Red Sox in 2004, I was hoping for a Red Sox Cardinals series. Of course St Louis choked that series against Boston (ending a 86 year curse.).
No matter who you face they are going to have much better pitching than the twins.....you have to have a lineup that gives you the best chance to win.....which means Stanton and Sanchez bench.....they are automatic outs....rallly killers.....pathetic....Maybin looks great right now....stealing bases....ninth inning homerun.....a hundred times better in the outfield.....Romine is a contact linedeive hitter who has come up with a lot of big hits this year....including a game winner off Greinke.....in a big spot...late....men on...need a hit....I'm going with Romine.....I have absolutely no faith in Sanchez in that spot....Stanton and Sanchez have proven themselves to be numbers compilers who suck in the clutch and post season....
