True, Robert Moses wouldn't, couldn't grant that land in Brooklyn to Walter O'Malley. For reasons unknown to all, that area remained undeveloped till the Barkley Center. Personally, I think the Dodgers made a huge mistake passing on Queens because they would have gotten what ever they wanted from Moses including a huge sports complex there; like a "Dodgers land". I'm a lifelong METS fan who grew up near Shea stadium.
