I can't wait for Tyler and Tim to get the full blown recognition they deserve, but I love holding onto their beautiful music like a secret, just for it to be mine ( ours) a little longer
These guys have an uncanny ability to play 2 simple chords, sing a few poignant verses and take me back to a time when my life was electric. Their music is pure fire
This might be my favorite track off Heroes so far... that ringing guitar theme, heavy with chorus and reverb, brings me straight back to 1989. And I deeply love it.
I used to think Midnight band was from 1980's but the way they have brought the 1980's theme in their song ...it's very amazing and pleasing to the ears...and we will get to have more classy songs from this amazing band...👌👌🤩🤩
Best song on the album for two reasons: 1) my pops drove an Aerostar for almost 30 years (1991-2020) 2) the bass line is ridiculous if you have the setup to feel it deep within you
"Aerostar" A forest fire Some careless spark Weren't we embers burning In your mama's car? The window warnings Your body carved A clear horizon In that aerostar For a moment we were weightless Taking off our masks There were angels in the canyons But the fire moved too fast For a second we were infinite But I mistook the glow Suddenly the roar Now suddenly the undertow And the keys to your apartment In the charred remains And the kingdom of your heart bent When you wrote my name Just needed someone to walk you home Just needed someone to walk you home Just needed someone to walk you home Just needed someone to walk you home There was a magic show And the world began And your soul stretched farther than your skin And for a moment all was calm And I was home once But now it's lost For a moment we were weightless Taking off our masks There were angels in the canyons But the fire moved too fast For a second we were infinite But I mistook the glow Suddenly the roar Now suddenly the undertow And the keys to your apartment In the charred remains And the kingdom of your heart bent As you wrote my name Just needed someone to walk you home Now I need someone to walk me home Now I need someone to walk me home And you can't go back again And the doctors did what they said they could do And you can't go back again I know it's hard going through Now I need someone to walk me home Now I need someone to walk me home Now I need someone to walk me home
My favorite track on the album as well, giving me vibes of 'lost boy', a song I've likely listened to way too many times to give a number. I had goosebumps the first time I heard this chorus, tears the second time. The Midnight has that effect - striking a chord with the people in that generation - that I've never experienced before. It's confounding, confusing, exhilarating and exhausting all at once, if that makes sense. What a track, and what an album
I'm going to their concert in 3 hours and I am crying from excitement as I listen to this. I cannot wait, it is my first concert I have ever been to, and at 30, I can't think of a band I'd rather see. Thank you for gettin' me through some shit.
Oh my God, this song pulls at so many heartstrings at once. Flooded with memories of the early 90's, cruising around in my parents minivan with my gf and our friends. First love, first kisses, first touches, thinking it would last forever. As much as I wish I could relive those days, you really can't go back again. Thanks Midnight, for a new connection to some old memories. I love you guys.❤ Now I need someone to walk me home.
@@ricer34567 agreed. Damn near perfect. My one and only complaint would be needs more sax. They usually do a lot of solos and flourishes but they really scaled back on the sax on this album. However these songs are just so remarkably good it doesn't really matter much. They really knocked it out of the park on this one.
@@ricer34567 I love them, but souvenir and brooklyn friday love are kinda meh, they distance themselves quite a lot from what makes the midnight special for me
@@kooshps2 Play Memories, Los Angeles, Last Train, even Aerostar and Place of her Own, then Brooklyn Friday Love and Souvenir, lmao, no disrespect but they're complete opposites, as in quality, it might be me but I do not quite like when they try some crazy, too over-the-top upper pop beats, I mean special when I say these first songs STUCK with me for a long time and still do, which is something the ones I mentioned afterwards never could haha, personally I love them at their most atmosferic, calm, easy-going and meaningful, that's what I mean
I went hiking today to listen to the new album, this song hit me the hardest out of all the songs on the new album. I kept going back and replaying it. Then on the whole drive home. Such a great track. Gave me Jónsi vibes, which I love. :)
Listening to this song at first, I thought it was about a guy who thought his love interest returned the sentiment only to find out it was unrequited. On repeat listens, though, I think the song is about a couple getting in a car crash and one of them losing their life. Looking at it through that lens, the lyrics are much more unsettling and outright depressing. It might be a poor choice of words given my interpretation of the lyrics, but this song hits me like a truck. Definitely my favorite song off the album.
This and Heart Worth Breaking are the 2 best tracks on this album. Also, overall, this is one of their best songs. I think SUNSET is still my favorite. But, that being said, this IS one of the greatest synthwave tracks ever made.
All great songs, this song is definitely a gem. Los Angeles might be my favorite in terms of this slow reminiscent vibe, otherwise, Neon Medusa, Devil Make a Deal, Heroes, Days of Thunder, Jason, Change Your Heart or Die, are my bangers when im cruising.
I don’t know… this song just engulfs me. it’s absolutely beautiful. I love how light hearted this album starts off, and slowly becomes more nostalgic and emotional. really lovely album.
It was a hard decision becase I love every single song of this new album but by a narrow margin, "Aerostar" is my favorite. This song takes me to place I've never been.
Words cannot even express how much I love Aerostar! The guitar, voice and lyrics! So glad I discovered The Midnight! Love ya guys! 🌌🫶🏻👑⚜️✨💎🏆♥️🎙️📺🎶💾📼🎵😍🥰😘🌟🤩❤️🥤🎤🎷👏🏻
There is so much remix potential in this song it's crazy. What a canvas of sound and emotion that grabs from the first few seconds. The first 1:24 feel like they are linked to the final track Energy Never Dies, It Just Transforms musically and evoke that same feeling of infinite compassion and love that it brings a tear to my eye to just type that.
Listening to this song penetrating to the depths... words are heard about the loss and hopelessness of the situation, there can be no hope here, everything is gone...💔
As always, y'all's music is so wonderful to listen to. Like hitting a blunt without the joint; just close your eyes and just experience a wave of emotions as it takes you on a journey down the timeless river we call life.
If anyone is wondering what this song is about... it's based around the Camp Fire disaster in California in 2018. Tyler said to Google 'Camp Fire California' when asked about it.
Best band to grace our presence in the last 25 years I remember hearing them for the first time in 2017 lost Boy that is gotta be one of my favorite songs by them but there new album sounds just as good I have to say there a very talented bunch
Literally discovered these guys months ago by seeing ‘monsters’ album cover on Amazon. Read some reviews. Bought it. Never looked back. So, I Lit up a doobie, popped heroes down on the record player…. the most beautiful album I’ve heard this year. Thank you.
