Kinetic tremors plus explosive extends your damage to infinite range. Get those six shots (or five with enhanced kinetic tremors) and the tremors proc at the target's location for full damage, so long as they don't exit the radius of effect. Plus it also damages the other enemies in the vicinity. That's the best combo imho.
Finished this video. Immediately went into Onslaught and pulled a Full Bore Accurized Explosive Frenzy with a Reload Masterwork. LOL. Well I guess thats my luck for the next 4 years...

Can you check math for us, since content creates seem unwilling? Does Frenzy only buff the impact portion of damage from Explosive Payload, like Rampage used to do (and presumably still does). I haven't tested this in a while, but Explosive Payload used to have anti synergy with other damage perks like Rampage. Presumably it still does, which hurts Frenzy, OFA, Desperate Measures, etc. Check and see if the explosion part of the damage gets the 15% buff, or if it's only the impact portion.
This thing is going to disappear so fast from PvP when Luna's Howl comes out and everyone stops huffing all the copium, but man alive it's truly terrific in PvE.
It’s not copium though. For some people this gun feels better than Rose. Obviously not the case for EVERYONE but I would agree. Plus it can get 75 range which is PLENTY on 140. Yes that reduces the stability heavily but if you’re using the god roll (which would include zen moment) then the stability stat is almost pointless and isn’t that important for good players anyways. Idk maybe it’s just me but my already high stats have skyrocketed even more since using it 🤷🏻♂️
@@whatifwaterwaschunky7199 stats aren't that impressive for a 140, combined with meh 4th column perks. Magnificent Howl is bad, Opening Shot is cope, Kill Clip for 6's and I'd need to try out Precision Instrument on a 140. Eye of the Storm or Heal Clip in 3rd are good. No explosive or Zen moment is a little rough too.
Firefly stinks.. takes to much effort in a pinch to worry about it.. not to mention its morenlike a firework then an explosion lol.. the reward just osnt there.. explosive payload 14all is head and shoulders above the rest.. in the game lol
IMO I think firefly plus kinetic tremors is the best role. Firefly to clear out the trash and kt for the big guys especially if you’re using a gl for special. Also I feel like kt solves the range issue a bit but not as well as explosive.
Firefly and Kinetic Tremors is a great roll, great for ad clear and can handle majors quickly and even not a bad option for small boss dps if your out of heavy or special. I’m not a huge fan of frenzy, it feels like it’s never active for me…
As someone without a Fatebringer, was rather happy to get my first shiny Coup last night with Explosive and Frenzy / Kin. Tremors. (corkscrew, tactical, range mw). Using the Frenzy option mainly but glad to have K tremors as an alternate option. Have been using Sunshot / Tusk of the Boar combo a lot lately but great to have this Coup to switch up my loadouts. I’ve been looking for a good kinetic weapon to use in PvE to take into The Final Shape when it releases and rn the Coup is my favourite, it feels so much better then my EP / Firefly Fatebringer, I also have a Zaoulis crafted but with kinetic weapons in the final shape your transcendence bars fill at the same time making kinetics so much more viable then they are now
Firefly / One for All is the best way to go because firefly also gives 50 reload speed. It's also the better perk for add clear which is what people will be using this gun for as there are better handcannons for champs, etc. Explosive payload's range just doesn't do as well as firefly when clearing adds or activating One for All.
This is my new favorite hand cannon. It's amazing. I love my firefly/desperate measures midnight coup, already have over 3000 kills in a day just running onslaught.
Keep trying for explosive payload 14all.. seriously makes orpheus rig hunter a top build.. kenetic aoe with a constant 30% dmg buff while u debuff.. pretty ridiculous
Does Explosive Payload still have anti synergy with damage perks like Rampage/Frenzy? Does the damage buff from a damage increasing perk still only buff the impact portion of Explosive Payload and not the explosion part? I find it difficult to believe that nobody is testing this. I find it much easier to believe why I can't test it for myself (bad rng 😂).
I got explosive payload + OFA and fire fly + OFA midnight coup. Ive been farming for the shiny with fire fly or explosive payload for days of constant onslaught but no luck so far
I think I'm gonna stick to using my 120 rpm true prophecy hand cannon though i got 688 kills with it in pvp matches practicing my pro expert shooting skills it's mostly why I keep them around for stable hand control movements they are really better at having 10% low stability than others
I love how all of the grinding we did for other weapons got completely voided with the reintroduction of things like mountain top, edge transit, midnight coup,
Edge is just a good gl you still gonna use other elemental gls for double dipping surge and MT is a single target burst gun not add clear like waves and even breach loading.
i prefer [ explosive payload + kinetic tremor ] since explosive count as 2 hit so you only need 3 hit for trigger kinetic tremor and it make tons of power orb
everyone saying that the missing subclass synergy’s make this weapon mid, you need to remember kinetic weapons will be HUGE for prismatic transcendence in the final shape.
Kinetic weapons can charge both light and dark slot and prismatic perks works for all kenetic weapons, but energy weapons only can only give energy for their own element and need their specific perks for buffing(example: solar weapon dmg buff can only buff solar dmg) @@ryanxiedy
Yes, surprised he didn't mention that in the Fatebringer comparison, I would think that would have tipped the scales for him in Coup's favor. Origin trait plus enhanced perks trumps an adept mod (you may not even want to use).
i was gonna go to bed, but now that i've seen Midnigh Coup is the hand cannon we get from Onslaught maybe i'll run that some more. sucks i don't have any friends to run the harder version with but w/e
Attun it at Tha Hall and play Onslaught. Every boss chest has a chance to drop it. Weekly bounties also have a chance to drop it as do the engrams at Shaxx and the chest next to shaxx for 10 brave tokens. Oh, and for every 50 waves completed up to 150 total you have a chance and all that can be done 3 times weekly 1 per character.
I don’t understand the hype behind this hc, maybe it’s a nostalgia trip to vanilla destiny players but there are so many better hc than this. Zaoulis bane beats it out of the park, not to mention it frees up your primary slot for weapons like mountain top, riptide, succession, heritage, tusk of the boar, witherhoard, and main meta weapons. It’s not really worth using in pve, maybe pvp
The only hc that can outdamage malf is probably Wardens law with fttc extended and vorpal and it's still iffy cause i think the comparison is with lucky pants which wardens stack faster.
I only use legendary handcannons to stun champions, the slow reload and low magazine makes handcannons not that good for slaying large groups of enemies
