Maggie Smith is so good at playing self absorbed characters who are so wrapped up in their own wants and needs that they can’t imagine the damage that they do.
an extrodinarily difficult thing to do this, to play this for television having not performed it on stage. the timing, pacing, delivery. only Mags could get away with acting like this. sublime
The actress who plays "Seedy Stockings" is very good, but i wonder what Prunella Scales would have done with the role; perhaps it is that her coiffure resembles a modified Sybil Fawlty hairdo.
@@pygiana16 Professor Minerva McGonagall is a fictional character in the Harry Potter books and movie series. And she was played actress Dame Maggie Smith.
Maggie Smith is so very beautiful in this production! But, I dare say, I'm having the hardest time bringing myself to finish this, as it's far too much like a stage-play, and I don't care for that on the screen. And, I really don't like the camera work---it's annoying! But, Maggie is worth seeing, anyway.
How can anyone go on about production when the performances are so good? I'd recommend trying to ignore the technical and paying more attention to the artistry of the script and the actors.
@DAndraDreams Had to check that and turns out that Priscilla Morgan (Polly) did indeed play Mrs. Bennet in the 1980 version of Pride and Prejudice, not in the 90's version that's so close to my heart.
