Wasn’t it bleacher report that had Milwaukee in the play in tournament? Like come on man the 2nd season of any “super team” is usually the time where everything clicks
The additions of Gary Trent Jr, Prince and Wright made this team one of the favorites for the chip because now the bucks are not missing pieces to defend the perimeter and everyone that was formally on the Bucks can now play their true roles. I don't see anyone beating this team even the Celtics now because they only shoot 3's and have not nearly the size with depth the Bucks do.
Fax + dame and Gary Trent are familiar with each other too they played a couple season together in Portland, that just shows dame the teams not just all in on him they truly want to win.
That game was more about the Bulls crazy 3 point shooting than anything else they made 45% from 3 in that game for a total of 21 threes. That is insane 👀
Hope so, dame looked promising in there early games against the sixers then it all went downhill after that literally. Hope they get it together fr, and the sixers didn’t even have embiid and pg so
Horst doesn’t get enough credit for this offseason, Trent was a top 15 perimeter defender in Portland before he was shipped off to Toronto. Might be the most underrated signing in basketball
As a long time Portland fan, Trent was most definitely not a top 15 perimeter defender he just stood out as a hustling youngster with some most on a older bottom 3 defensive team in the league. He’s at most slightly above average he has slower feet than you’d like out of a POA defender and can’t navigate screens like you’d think he could.
@@keatonehrenberger8391 I guess I’d trust a fan lol, I was just rewatching a couple games and clips from that season after the bucks signed him and he looked very tenacious
Trent's biggest strengths are his toughness and his hands, he isn't quite the perfect POA defender. He can take a beating though, regularly guarding up forwards much larger than himself (Bron for example) and doing a decent job. He has great quick hands that on the raptors made him easily one of the best at getting steals in the league, however it comes at a cost, those risks led to more fouling. He's can read a offense fairly well but often times he has a bit of trouble staying ahead of the fastest players in the NBA, thats where Prince, Giannis and Lopez come in. Trent doesn't HAVE to beat them to the basket, he has to redirect them to help, No one is taking a shot with Giannis and Trent on them, and if they DO get past trent and prince/giannis, they are being sent right into Lopez who is a fantastic shot blocker. Trent himself isn't a excellent defender but he is a good enough one that with the addition of prince can direct players straight into lopez or giannis.
@@ZienoZ yeah, it’s gonna be fun to watch a scrappy 2-guard on the bucks. They haven’t had one since Donte. Hope that Trent stays healthy because he is a perfect fit alongside dame and Giannis
@@MeBihhhh that's not why bucks traded him. Lopez was hurt and they needed a big going into playoff championship run. Donte was the only asset that teams wanted that was tradeable at the time. It was always a bad move because it was out of being desperate.
Lillards range makes him literally unguardable playin pick and rolls actions. If he is hitting shots its nothing you can do to guard him, if you step up he will drive past you, he is extremely fast. Also he is an excellent playmaker so he will make the right pass if they blitz him after the screen
@wordtomymuvva5063 He still scored like 22 last year. He averages like 7 assists. Even when he isn’t scoring, he still has a vacuum around him. Thanks for telling us you know nothing about ball. 🤣
@@wordtomymuvva5063he is not gonma have a good game every night, he is a shooter, sometimes shots will not fall. With that said last season we al consider it was bad and he still average 24 and 7, that shows howw good he is.
@@OhGeeGankstanobody is denying his offensive talent, i mean when 22 points is considered bad that means everyone has high expectations. Damien’s biggest problem is on the other end of the floor. Sure 22 and 7 doesnt look horrible but if he gave up a ton of opportunities on the defensive end (like he did last year) the overall performance doesn’t look all that good. Regular season is whatever but what happens when they try to hunt for him in the playoffs. If Dame is not hitting shots and getting smoked on defense jn the playoffs, he probably getting benched or Giannis will superman his team to a W. Its gonna be interesting because despite that, the Bucks have really good defenders around him. They’re gonna have to play good team defense, if they do that then the Bucks a looking scary.
As much as I love Khris Middleton, I honestly never thought of the team play with him and portis on the bench. I really like the idea you have with that.
Giannis has not been a bad screener this year this far so we don't need to propagate information based on how his screening looked last year. He's already freed Dame up several times between preseason and the first regular season game. The reason why Dame was running a lot of pick n rolls with Brook this game has NOTHING to do with their screening, and everything to do with the matchup Brook is guarded by. Brook was guarded by a slow footed big which Dame can blow by on a switch or if the big is at the level which means the defense is probably going to have the big drop back instead, meaning he'll have space for wide open threes if the defender doesn't effectively chase over the top, while Giannis was guarded by a smaller defender/wing which turns the PnR with Dame into a switch/iso against a difficult defender. Giannis can post or iso those matchups and punish them, but Dame doesn't get as involved in the offense should he start doing so, which is why they elected to have Dame run more PnR with Brook this game instead. Again, had nothing to do with the screening.
@southerncoastproductions7587 Well, that is you're opinion and I find it special. So here we are. I wonder what metrics or advanced numbers you have supporting your opinion because it feels to me that your argument is based purely in feelings
Bobby Portis is underrated he is like a Swiss Army knife off the bench. His offense is way better offensively shot 80 percent from three point range in preseason
His playoff performance against Indiana proved that they can. As long as he's healthy he's still Khris. They just need to manage the minutes of him, Giannis and Dame better during the season so they're not injured by the end of the year. The only reason Indiana won was because Giannis was hurt for the whole series and Dame got injured during it.
I’ve been saying Marjon will be a beast for years, might have to let that hope go unfortunately. Good for him for securing an NBA contract after being homeless! What a young man
Been saying since Dame was traded they need to lock down the pick n roll with Giannis cause that’s just impossible to guard especially with any sort of decent kick out shooters.
Hopefully Khris come as a 6th man, everyone would win with that. Starting 5 would became way strong on deffense with Taurean and Gary trent, while the 2nd line with Bobby and Middleton will have also great firepower
When dame is this hungry & motivated he’s going to play well not no what if or buts he’s locked in. That’s coming from a blazer fan the bucks are my finals favorites before the season even started a healthy bucks will be a issue.
Honestly I do think Khris off the bench makes sense. It's a well-known fact that Dame is not a good defensive player. Khris, on that end of the floor, has been decent throughout his career but he's never been a stalwart. And now that he is older, he's just not that good, defensively, anymore. So yeah I think it makes all the sense in the world.
Facts but as I said in the video Milwaukee still needs to give Middleton some games to start to see just how bad the defense is. But even still playing less minutes throughout the regular is a good thing
Prince isnt a better shooter and even though i think hes slightly better defensively then Middleton hes more of an energy defender and middleton is a good enough defender tht i dont expect much dropoff as long as hes guarding wings. The bucks starting lineup last year when everyone was healthy was the best 5 man lineup net rating wise in the NBA, with the best offensive rating and an elite defensive rating. Now replacing beasley with Gary Trent makes a big difference. Middleton usually just takes the role as a spacer with both Dame and Giannis on the court and acts as a secondary creator when one or the other are resting on the bench. Overall the most important part is the improvement defensively on the perimeter and bench, plus having that bench depth. Im not completely opposed to the idea tho especially if its during the regular season because then our bench would be very good and i also think it would open up minutes for andre jackson jr to play as an extra defender off the bench in spurts
Milwaukee is a great team… but they lost to the bulls… due to lack of perimeter defense. They have good offense and superb interior defense. But with teams shooting at a higher clip, them included it won’t be as easy as most suspect.
Cheating the system after how many games? Jumping the gun here, aren't you? The Bucks will be very good, but there's still the question about chemistry, injuries, Middleton. Settle down. "we learned a lot after only one game." What? Really? Get out. ONE GAME. Blocking you.
The BUCKS are going to be the 2nd best team in the EAST 👍🔥🔥 The 3 newcomers are already started to make an impact and it's a big update from the last season 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@basketballreach that’s right, but Khris will take more difficult shots, including off the dribble. Which is why I wouldn’t say prince is better from deep. That’s not to say he isn’t a good 3pt shooter and a good fit with the starters though
@@slipjones2more like the best player in the world being injured the last 2 playoffs has hindered the bucks but some of us watch the games and some of us are you
I don’t believe the Bucks are good enough to be handcuffed with a 33 million dollar slot that produces nothing for three years. Nothing we can do about it. The Bucks won a ring so it was all worth it. But face reality, Middleton (that 33 million dollar slot) doesn’t play the bucks won’t win a chip. I need to see them perform against a younger faster team to see where they fit in the rest of the league
