The mini batanes you’ll find just a few kilometers from Boracay! It’s Mararison in unexplored Antique province. A great place for a daytrip!

--GETTING THERE-
Going to Mararison it’s best to travel to Culasi first. It’s just a busride away from Kalibo, or Boracay. You can sleep on the mainland of Culasi as we did and easily see the island in one day. Boats cost 750 two ways, so it’s really better to be with a group or join in on people going in the first place!
-WHAT TO SEE IN MARARISON-
There are two main attractions in this mini Batanes:
► The look alike rolling hills
► The sandbar
Both are accessible by foot. It’s a bit of hiking, but not hard or steep! A guide is around 200 pesos.
-WHERE TO SLEEP IN MARARISON-
We slept on the main land in Culasi in Solis Suites. A nice place, with sweet people running it. They were still building it at the time we stayed there.

There are resorts and homestays on the island (apparently even a lot of homestays!) but I haven’t slept in them. Let me know if you tried one and leave your thoughts on them :D
-WHERE TO EAT IN MARARISON-
We ate along the way in a homestay from Nanai Cristy. Where you’ll see the food when you pass by. It was good food, healthy also! Lots of veggies, loved it!

On the main land we just ate at the restaurants in Culasi itself. Just burgers or in the canteen. There are a lot of options, also bakeries, so no worries!
