Shawn Woods hey bud super quick question can you tell me or make a video on how you’re okay with handling wild mice? Or touching stuff that nice have been on. I watched many of your videos. I think you’d risk getting a random disease or something (self fear). So how do you do it and even make them pets!!! Impressive.
My private, unlisted, self age restricted 2nd channel with a disclaimer appearing at the beginning of each video recently received strikes from RU-vid and may be terminated in the near future so I can't show the full video of this trap in action.
Set up a PayPal or Patrion for your site and upload them there. It'd help finance the hosting fees. You could also upload it elsewhere, but link to it here.
Since it's only connected to your main channel through links anyway, could you post those videos on a site other than youtube and continue to link them here?
You can tell if it's an older or newer video by the unfortunate black spot on Shawn's thumbnail and how far it's moved up. It's healing nicely, I might add
Great trap, I would love to see the Ouell 3-10 rat trap tested as well, we are battling rats and squirrels. I got the "Walk The Plank" trap setup based on your review and got 4 Roof Rats on the second week of having it set up. Thanks for all your reviews.
Actually I misspoke, I have a big problem with hip hop squirrels and will use some strong fighting moves to eliminate them. Rock and metal squirrels are cool.
Hey Shawn I've been seeing commercials on youtube about another rodent trap being sold on Amazon called "Pest Expel" Looks like you're run of the mill Guillotine style snap trap but supposed to be made of really good materials and backed by warranty It's supposed to be powerful enough to kill rats and chipmunks but sensitive enough that even a mouse can set it off. Perhaps you can give their product a look and see if it is as they advertise it.
Please do more videos on how to catch gophers moles and voles. Our property in Tualatin is riddled with mounds, and they pop up EVERYWHERE. Such a nuisance, we just want them gone.
Shawn! take a pic of your finger EVERYDAY! and hopefully we get some sort of "timelapse" of the dead nail (damn I had to edit your name as I was thinking of my friend Sean lol)
I am beginning to seriously consider that we need to give RU-vid a little flip. Like move to a new video services provider. Failing that possibly even start up a new provider. Are you reading this RU-vid? I am talking Rebellion.
This sucks! I want to see these traps in action. You've got great content, and I will stay subscribed, but won't be watching on a daily like I have been for quite some time. Good luck Shawn...
I caught a mice in my humane trap ( i catch them live and release them) but I could not grab him to release him. It would jump straight up about 4 feet and back to hiding. Finally I realized it was not a regular house mouse since her/his rear legs are as long as the whole body , so I readied myself with a small cage and supplies. How this lil thing wound upin Howard Beach in New York City I have no idea. I know nothing about mice so I've been feeding him little balls of peanut butter and white rice , but it is a problem . The moment I open the top of the cage he's jumping for it. After three days he taps on the cage gets my attention and runs away. I am VERY torn about let him go or keep him in the cage. Suggestions?
Hey I just had an idea this day, I while ago a rat got stuck in one of my school's trash cans, the metal part around the bag inside had a V-shaped pattern with metal pillars and the rat choked when it slides down the V. I wonder if you could make some kind of trap with that, but it's probably not going be so nice, a pretty slow and painful death. But I'm just curios. (Sorry for my bad english)
Shawn, seriously, I thought the point of your website was to post objectionable videos? Just upload the objectionable videos onto, say, Vimeo, put the link on your website, and advise the viewers to visit your website. Since the private Edit Out channel isn't monetized, there's no reason to use RU-vid for it. There are easy ways to get around it. We the viewers would prefer to see the mousetraps in action.
I have the Ouell 310 squirrel/rat trap and is built on the same pattern as the mini Ouell. Incredibly powerful traps. I wouldn't put my finger in one of them!
Nice. Interested in this - I had a minor infestation of the little bastards, but went and got a trap from a supermarket. The weak jaws of the thing just squeezed the poor mouse, which dragged the trap up to the mousehole and squeezed in as far as it would go, still alive. Trying to dispatch the poor thing without leaving half of it in the hole was distressing. I'm going to invest in one of these for next time!
This looks like it comes from the era when things were built to work, rather than built to be bought, (and then break.) Would buy, (thanks to Mr Woods' recommendation.)
Love your videos. You have inspired me to build a multi catch rat trap with a Arduino board as the brain. The trap door style trap will not harm the rats in any way. Just collect them to a bin to be disposed of. Have you seen traps like this? Any plans available or words of wisdom before I begin?
I have a question, I live in a urban city and I live near an abandoned house that is always rented out to by the owner to dirty people so mice always breed and run over to my house. The tools I use to get rid of them is poison lil bait and sticky traps. When people start renting the abounded house next to me I catch 4-5 mice a day in my basement on sticky traps along with a whole 2 bags of poison eaten within a day. Once I catch a mouse I fold the sticky trap up stomp on the mouse head to kill it. Now the house next to me *row house* is abandon and I catch 1 or 2 mice every often and have done extra cleaning. Could their be a faster way to kill mice in bulk that's lower budget and as effective as what I've been doing?
I gotta say, that thick kill bar with that massive spring just makes the trap look like a tank when compared to, say, a Victor wooden kill trap. I might have to get 2 or 3 for my garage now!
I did not have much luck with this trap in its stock form. What I did was to bend down the trigger rod (the one that sticks up at a 45 degree angle) so that they were even and flat. Then I glued a small piece of screen wire to the trigger rods so as to give the appearance of a solid platform to step on. Worked great. My mice were stepping around the rods and stealing the bait. Now they have to step on the screen platform which triggers the trap.
Somewhere on the other side of the world, there is huge pile of dead mice and noone knows why they´re there. Well, at least WE know... (little flips all the way)
So while sorting out my man cave I found a load of springs some of them are old folding bed type easily twice the power of the one on this trap ; ). So now looking for a trap to copy ;)
