Impressive, the stock was at the peak near '11 when they discovered the mine (and copper was at $4), then 2 years later they made this video (stock down 60%), then very rough times with the stock down 90% from the peak, now it's come back up at around 3.6cad, and it seems not particularly an expensive stock.
Very interesting video, well put together. What kind of mineral is most of the copper in. I know chalcopyrite is the most common, but I don't remember if it stated the actual ore minerals in the video.
This is awesome...Im a Metallurgical Engineering Student (Final Year) in South Africa...I would really like to work and grow with Copper Mountain Mining...any graduate programs?
Nice, I'm a geology student in America, and right now they (American Engineering Geologists) have said that they're expecting more jobs than qualified people to fill them, which is great news for anyone currently in a degree program.
@@dailybikes668 I'm in my final year and u'd enjoy it IF YOU ACTUALLY LIKE geology. There's so much fascinating things to learn. If you dont like it and you go for it, you'll just end up confused when you are done ur degree because it so broad and you wont what to career path in geology to take. Good luck and get ready for memorization and understanding some new concepts.
I guess this must be the small copper mountain, as it is far away from the famous "Great Copper Mountain" that was in full production for 600 years, before running dry and the operations company diversified to other activities. That mountain also contained some gold and had some foreign involvement in the ownership structure.
Excellent! I wonder why Japan does the further refining? Not that I doubt their abilities, which I'm sure are excellent. But isn't there somewhere in the U.S. that could benefit from being the one who carries out this final refinement of copper? I have no background in these things but I've always been fascinated with technical subjects. Math. Engineering, Mining. Manufacturing. Forging. Metallurgy. It's a mix of things I'm keenly interested in of late. Thank you for the video. Well done and I wish you all success. One day, make another even more detailed documentary about your company's processes. I bet it'll be very popular. Good luck
Shipping semi finish products is common in the business world, its called transfer pricing, a legal way of reducing taxes and shifting wealth under the radar
One of the owner is Mitsubishi. It could be a contract since they are a part owner. It is only my opinion but I heard that it is a practice to ensure buyer of your products, have to be a part-owner.
Canada has the cheapest electricity. They dont want to invest in electrolises plant. Salmon from alaska heavily clorinized , frozen and shipped to china.there they defrost it, fillet it and freeze again and return to u.s.a.
Having worked with several Japanese companies, their emphasis on knowing EXACTLY what goes into their well controlled processes, it would be almost a requirement that the final refining be under that same integrated process control. Any change, even a "good" change is lack of control at that level
Managing mining is a delicate balance between costs and production. Recycling various resources also must be considered nowadays. Recycling has had a big effect on iron mining......
In 1.5 billion the gold extraction is good enough predicted, here in Pakistan, we have 8 ℅ copper, 2 %gold and 1 % silver, highest percentage reported here! Keep going!
What does 88% copper found in a lab test means to the copper miners ?? I want to learn with. Other major by products raw minerals being Iron and Almunium. If one person has got a mining which posses all three of them ?
I would like to know the properties of the copper mineral and if it has any applications in that form. Also, what is added to the alcohol solution to make the copper float?. I'd also like to know how the ball mills work.
They mentioned float collectors in the video. This will be a hydrophobic chemical (think hydrocarbons) that attach to the copper. The air bubbles into the system will catch the float chemicals and take the copper to the surface.
Toxic sludge, and it eventually goes into your drinking water. Not now while the factory is still running. But after when it's abandoned. That's when we will find out what they did, and how much it will cost taxpayers to clean it up.
Longyi super fine powder grinding machines advantages: 1. Powder from 48~4microns, fineness is adjustable 2. Built-in high efficiency classifier, no more investment cost for classifying system. 3. Smart PLC operation system, and integrated control system: 1 computer could operated max 6 machines, saving management cost. 4. No particle air pollution, more environment-friendly. 5. Compact structure to save factory space and lower foundation construction cost. For CaCO3 powder The whole grinding system including grinding, classifying, powder collector, fan, PLC cabinet, feeding conveyor and others, system power is 370Kw, the real working power is 296KW 1. Put your resume in. There's lots natives that work up there. Im.native and used to work up there through the upper similkameen Indian band. But just go to there web site and send in your resume
Because it may cost a lot of money and they don't process enough ore to make it worthwhile? They may also lack the expertise. Or can't borrow the funds needed even it would be a profitable venture.
I work for ONU EXPLORING copper in Costa Rica in Talamanca area .we have a.real big deposit Of copper with millions Of tons of ore y intrusive area. But the Goberment they dosent want to give the permition for that.

Emmanuel Bwalya as a Nigerian prince I will be happy to invest I. Your copper and cobalt mine. I can feasibly arrange an immediate investment of $2.5million, U.S., I will just need you to send me via cashier's check, or wire transfer U.S. $3,842.00 security deposit for me to free up the funds and get the ball rolling on my investment in your family's mine. Thank you, and I look forward to working with you in the venture. Sincerely, Nigerian Crown Prince Abdul Ackbar Beatty del Hashmir Baatumbo.

Namely due to those smelters being at capacity and it is cheaper to ship by boat to Japan than to truck and/or rail to a U.S. smelter, or even a Canadian smelter too.
Dear Mr/Mrs My name is Duong, our company specializes in importing and distributing copper cathode, copper rod in Vietnam. We are interested in your company's copper cathode product. Could you please arrange for me to talk to the person in charge of the company's sales and business. Thank you.
+Tobacc0 Below the total cost of production. The operating costs of production are lower. Capital costs are already sunk, can't get them back so they keep going. TCP = OCP + CCP. Economics 101
Tobacc0 any Mine with any resource. The challenge is to get production per tonne as low as absolutely possible. I find it hard to believe the price of Copper would be that low. 175,000 tonnes of copper per annum seems very low to me. Here in the Pilbara Lithium Spodumin sells at $15,000 US a tonne. They produce in the millions of tonnes per annum.
I was studying metallurgy in Chemistry (hence why I am here) my Chem teacher just said these people only care about how to reduce cost and barely about the Environment
Do a little research, hippie. Mines are required to put up bonds to ensure reclamation. It's cheaper to clean the place up than to forfeit the bonds and pay fines. It's already accounted for. As for getting rid of acidic tailings: You simply send it down the river. Very slowly. The process is closely monitored. Not a single fish will die. That's AFTER they extract valuable minerals from the tailings. The video showed you how they deal with the tailings pond. Try paying attention.
Yeah, and when the copper runs out, it will be just a large, toxic tailings pond, and a taxpayer-funded cleanup site. Come visit Anaconda, Montana, to see just how all that works.
