Oooooo... Now I want to park in their parking lot. My 2011 Jetta TDI gets so much shit from that "Dirty, Rotten, Cheating scandal", I think it needs some validation.
@@DCPTF2 Do you have ANY IDEA how much those marines cost? Based on the list Cam gave Kathleen, Ian rendered down approximately 1.3 human kidneys into grey slime. Now if you excuse me, Sisters of Battle just dropped, so I need to fill this bathtub with ice and sterilize these kitchen knives.
My assumption is that either they just came up with some "goop" for filming, or if they WERE being true-to-life, they simply acetoned the sprues, which would probably end up pretty good. :-D
I thought I was a big nerd, but other than "second place is still winning when it comes to competing in painting stuff, since so many people are amazing at it", I didn't see much well actually material. Well, and hating the fig that got soaked in paint, thinking that snot green over a plague marine isn't a bad look. But those aren't very "well actually". Nevermind, hit the bit at the end.
painfully relateable to my first attempt at running D&D. My friends showed an interest, and I have wanted to do it for years. They tried to help, but they always found ways to mess it up, either by building characters with 3rd edition books (I had shared all of 5e stuff on dndbeyond to make it easier for them), but making elaborate minis that were somehow for something other than a 1" grid, one of them volunteered to bring snacks and only brought healthy snacks for themselves. Took it all in stride because I wanted to play soooo bad! I adapted their characters, provided minis and snacks, we had a slow and painful first session, moved everything online because people did not want to drive 30 minutes, and literally the day after I finished setting up the whole campaign in Roll 20, half of my players had a schedule change and now we don't have enough people. It was fun for the 3 sessions it lasted.... ? On the plus side, my wife and kids enjoy our little home campaign. Moral of the story is that good friends are hard to find. Get married, start making your own friends, and wait about 8 years for them to grow up... its easier than finding fellow nerds that what to do things with eachother.
Considering The fastest I Painted one up well was a Reaper Bones Telephone Box in a specific blue scheme with Shimmering White and Semi-matte black highlights. the longest part was to prep the mini for Details and getting the paints mixed. That one took about 2 hours tops. I usually take 3-4 hours, with my Beginner level of detail. Having seen Cam work on a single Warhammer Quest mini over the course of two sessions of LRR's creative stream, yeah I am not surprised that the long gag was how unhelpful Friends that don't know that much about painting Minis can be.
I came in to their stream late and only saw the stinger at first and just cameron inexplicably moving painted rocks and obliterating ben was already a deeply understood thing.
@@cliffordsherman7702 I was thinking we needed to diversify their collection. Catalyst games has released a new version of Battletech. How about a few mechs?
I've recently gotten into mini painting, and have been watching tons of random Mini Painting (Not GW though. I"m not freakin' made of money) videos and channels, and I refuse to believe that this isn't LRR and Google teaming up with dunk on my algorithms. Also, Cam's reaction to Graham's paint job is 100% accurate to what my soul did. Wizards of the Coast money drying up; time to vie for that sweet, sweet Games Workshop cash with a new series: Dry Brushes. It's funny, because LRR's humour stylings leans towards Dry.
dont worry, kill teams are small, and hey, just minis, so you should be able to paint em in 15 minutes! please save me i have 30 more Deathwatch marines to paint and at some point i need to actually go back and finish painting my massive amount of tyranids.... it takes me 2 hours to paint a single marine....
@DragonJo Lord, help me resist the urge to buy more minis. I am fine with 3 small kill teams... no need to buy a full scale army... Oh no, why do I suddenly have an 800 point list for Salamanders, now I need like 700 more points at least to play big boy warhammer, noooooo
The rocks take me back to me and my friends' high school trailer trash 40k armies made of rocks, poker chips, various toys, and cardboard cutouts. We did make sure they were all the right size and roughly shape for their given units
This is one of those streams I *really* wished I had tuned into, if only to read comments. And I refuse to believe any of the streams from commodore hustle wasn't streamed on twitch for real, for authenticity (even if the joke is still a joke).
feha92 No, you’re right. Bits from streams that were intended for commodoreHUSTLE have ended up in actual streams. Some of these have confused both the watchers and the host alike.
So I found LRR when I was stepping away from 40k to play magic. Your Friday nights really got me back me back into magic. Last night my friends were trying to get me to play 40k... it’s like you guys can see what I need in my life.
A moment of silence for that one miniature they had to suffocate in paint for this sketch. I'm sure that must have been torture for Cameron to do purposefully.
This is why I played HeroScape. The figures come pre-painted, and you have these neat hexes for landscape so you never have to worry about measuring the distances. Plus the sets were much cheaper than Warhammer.
See, this is why I just watched my friend paint models, only there to give advice on color choices and eventually give him someone to play with to justify the months worth of paychecks sunk into buying them and the months worth of time spent painting them. Though all things considered, WH40k is really just a model building hobby with the added bonus of actually being able to do something with the models once you finished, unlike a model plane or something.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about picking Dark imperium up and I see this video. I'm so happy but also understanding that cam just wants to purify the office
I swear you guys follow me on hobbies. When I was getting back into magic in RTR block you guys were too. I started 40k about 3 months ago and here we are. If you guys ever decided to do 40k content I'm here for it. Also you didn't make disgustingly resilient checks on that plague Marine, it could have lived!
Even as someone who only really dabbled in 40K on the video game side, the nano second I saw Graham's 'painted' Mini, I burst out laughing. The proceeding seconds of that gag amplified that laughter into a roar that woke up the family. It is a rare talent that you folks continuously find ways to let those of us not experienced in certain hobbies, get to experience the joys and horrors unique to that hobby. Please keep Hustling!
I dont know what is going on, but I can relate to the needing to do something under a deadline and everyone around you making things worse. Also, I love the idea that they actually filmed that in a stream just for the joke.
