The Miracle of San Gennaro
Naples holds the solemn celebration of its patron saint, San Gennaro, on September 19. Every year, during the Holy Mass, the Archbishop brings out the ampoules said to contain the saint's blood. If the blood liquefies, it's considered a good omen for the city in the coming year.
If the blood of San Gennaro does not liquefy during the annual ritual, it is considered a bad omen. The failure of the miracle has been associated with disasters and misfortunes.
In 2024, the miracle occurred. The cathedral was filled with the faithful, and a crowd waited outside. As the Archbishop displayed the relic to the people, it was a testimony to the miracle.

Il Miracolo di San Gennaro - liquificazione del sangue
Napoli celebra solennemente il suo patrono, San Gennaro, il 19 settembre.
